November 2014

In November 2014 -

I put on a Thanksgiving Relief Society activity and taught them how to brine a turkey.  Others also brought side dishes of their favorite family recipes and I created some cute place settings.

For PTA I was in charge of Patriotic week for Callie's school which took place during the week of Veteran's Day.  Here are some of my projects for that.

Each kid was to return a quiz that was sent home and when they brought it back they would receive one of these treats.

We made camo print ribbons for each child to wear during "Camo" day

Jace loved helping me shop for decorations.

The school entryway was lined with these flags.

Since I was at the school during lunchtime on Thursday afternoon, Jace was able to have lunch in the lunchroom with Callie.

We had children sign "Thank You" posters to our military and we displayed them at Camp Williams at the end of the week.

One morning in November, Callie made everyone breakfast complete with name tags.  It was so thoughtful of her and she even paid attention to what cereals everyone usually eats.

Nate was able to take a day off work to be part of the "Watch Dogs" (DOGS stands for "Dads of Great Students") program at Callie's school.  He spent the whole day there helping out in different classrooms, was able to be there for Callie's class Thanksgiving Feast, played with the kids at recess and we all ate lunch together as a family.  Callie loved having her dad at school for the day.

We had a fun time visiting with cousins during Thanksgiving week.

And had a great time playing in leaves at the park before Thanksgiving dinner at my parent's house.

Halloween - October 2014

Halloween is a big holiday around are house.  Here are some of the things we did this year.

Callie was Maleficent.  I ordered her costume and made her staff with the bird.

The kids got to go Trick-or-Treating at Nate's work.  Nate decided to be Elsa and Jace was the transformer Bumblebee

Nate and I were Batman and Robin (I forced Nate to at least dress up a little bit).

Here is the haul they took away from Nate's work.  Everyone kept telling them to grab handfuls.  I think they definitely got more then enough candy.

Jace's pre-school put on a little parade and program.

I was Room Mom for Callie's class this year so I got to plan the Halloween party.

We had our annual Marx Halloween Party and pumpkin carving at my parent's house.

Jace chose to do a black widow for his pumpkin.

Callie chose the grim reaper.

And of course, we went trick-or-treating on Halloween night.

And did our regular spread of treats and hot chocolate in the garage.  We also handed out glow bracelets.

October 2014

In October 2014 -

We were able to harvest the last of or vegetables from our garden.  It as a successful first year.

I decided to take on a project of refinishing a bunk bed set for Jace's room.

It turned out pretty good.

And the kids had fun doing a "sibling sleepover" in Jace's room that first night.  I think it turned in to a sleepover every night for a week.

Callie played soccer again.  She didn't quite enjoy it as much as she did the first year she played.

And of course we bought our season passes to Cornbelly's and took the kids a couple of times.

September 2014

In September 2014 -

Nate and I did the Tough Mudder together and we actually finished it!

This picture was taken in the morning before we started.  Notice how we are still clean.

We took the Polar Plunge in ice cold water.  We had to swim under the wall to get to the other side.

This picture is of Nate running through the Electro Shock Therapy.  I chose to skip this course.

There were a lot of wall climbing obstacles

Partner carry obstacle.  Luckily my husband is not very heavy.

And here we are at the end of the course.  I was pretty sore for a few days.

Our kids thought it would be fun to sleep in our shirts that night.

As a Family we attended the Rodeo.  Our kids love this tradition.

Nate's work also had a family picnic and both Callie and Jace loved the climbing wall and how they were able to do it as many times as they wanted.
