Giggles

Here is a cute video of Callie laughing. The other night we were sitting on the couch watching a movie. Callie's cousin Haylee was playing with a balloon and started waving it around. All of the sudden Callie just started laughing thinking it was hilarious. This went on for atleast 5 minutes. We were all watching her and laughing along except her uncle Bryan who was watching the movie. Every time Callie stops laughing and looks to her right she is looking at her uncle Bryan wondering why he isn't watching her. She definitely loves being the center of attention and thinks everyone needs to pay attention to her.

Winter Wonderland

Eagle Mountain got hit with a pretty significant amount of snow today. We got about 12 inches at our house. Callie and I went out and played in it for a few minutes. She loved it, but I didn't let her stay out very long because it was pretty cold and it was still snowing. Here are some cute pictures for you to enjoy.
Here is a picture of our little snow bundle. She got this snow suit from her Great Aunts Regina and Leora.

Callie loved being in the snow because I made a little hole for her to stand in. With all of the snow she was packed in so she could stand alone without falling over.

She is practicing her innocent look.

For those of you who have seen our backyard you can tell how much snow there is because only the top two layers of our wall are showing. The bottom two are covered in snow (each layer is 8in)

I think that she wanted to try and eat the snow.

Here Callie is sitting on our patio furniture (which we never got around to taking in before it snowed). You can see how much snow we have by looking at the table and chairs behind her.

Santa

This past weekend our ward had their Christmas party. Santa Claus made a surprise visit so Callie got to meet him. She was not cooperating for the picture. She was more interested in the lights on the tree next to Santa than she was in him. Oh well, maybe next year.

Nyberg Christmas Party

This past Sunday, we had the Nyberg Christmas party. Callie got to open her first gift ever. It was so cute I can't wait to see her on Christmas. Enjoy the pictures below.

Callie practically jumped out of Nate's lap to grab her present.
Of course the first thing she tried to do was eat it.

She did a pretty good job tearing into it after Nate got it started for her. All she wanted was to put the paper in her mouth but that is to be expected. Everything goes in her mouth these days.
Here is a cute picture with Callie and her Grandpa Marx. She is holding her present which her cousin Kylee got for her. It is a material "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" book that is shaped like a star and plays the music to the song when you squeeze it. She has been playing with it for the past few days and really enjoys it.

Decorations

Last weekend (the day after Thanksgiving) I got our tree set up and then today Nate put the lights on the house and I put them up around the windows and door. I love seeing all of the Christmas lights when you drive around at night.
Only 19 more days until Christmas!!!

Stats are in

So Callie had her 6-month check-up yesterday. I can't believe she is already 6 months old. Her percentiles pretty much stayed the same (1% for head & weight, 25% for length). She was 11 lbs 7 oz, 24.75in long. Unfortunately she did not gain as much weight as the doctor would like so I have to take her back in a month to get weighed again. I will have to try and fatten her up during the holidays.

Thanksgiving

We had a good Thanksgiving this year. We had it at our house and some of my family and some on Nate's family were able to attend. We also had a couple of friends over. There ended up being 14 people if we count Callie. Unfortunately we didn't pull out the camera very much that day so we didn't get pictures of anyone other than Callie.
Here she is taking a Thanksgiving nap.

We had her try sweet potatoes baby food for the first time. She wasn't really a big fan, but ate some anyway. We didn't get a picture of her bib, but it was really cute. Her Grandma Marx gave it to her and it said, "My Family is Thankful for Me" which is a very true statement. This picture looks a little creepy with me peeking out from behind her, but unfortunately it is the only one we have.

California

This past week Callie and I travelled to California to visit my sister Maureen and her family. Callie had a wonderful time getting to play with her cousins. I am pretty lucky because Callie travels really well. She didn't even cry once during the plane rides. Here are some fun pictures from our trip.
Here is Callie and her cousin Bianca who just turned 3 years old. Callie and I got to be there for her birthday.

This is Callie with her cousin Haylee who is 5 years old.

Haylee, Callie and Bianca playing on the floor.

Here is a cute picture at the park.
Haylee dressed as an angel.

Bianca during one of our walks down by the lake.
This picture is from our last day in California. I brought this little travel bed with me for Callie to sleep in. Callie was in taking a nap and it was pretty quiet so Maureen went to see what Bianca was doing. This is the scene she found. Callie was awake and Bianca had crawled in the bed with Callie and was laying by her showing Callie her toys. It was precious.

We had a great time in California. Thank you to Maureen and Bryan for opening up your home and letting us stay with you. And a special thanks to Haylee and Bianca for letting Callie and me sleep in your room. We love you guys.

Halloween

During the day on Halloween Callie and I went and had lunch with her Grandma and Grandpa Marx. She was voted the cutest baby at the restaurant (there was no official contest, but our waitress told us they voted that Callie was the cutest baby ever. It made me proud)

Halloween night we went up to my sister Ang's house so Callie could spend Halloween with some of her cousins. Here is a cute picture of her and a pumpkin.

Here is Callie with her cousins.

Here is a picture of all of the children that were there for Halloween. Look at all of the cool costumes.

Here is Callie ready to go trick-or-treating.

There were lots of houses in my sisters neighborhood that had these huge blow-up Halloween displays. Here are some of them.

Time to go home. Callie was pretty worn out after all of the festivities.

Halloween Party

This past weekend we had our ward Halloween party! It was very fun. Nate's brothers Chris and Jared and my sister Cindy came up to spend the evening with us. Thanks to Cindy we got some very cute pictures.

Here is Callie in her cute Tiger costume. I added a bow to the top so that everyone could tell she was a girl tiger. Doesn't she look adorable.

Here is a picture of our little family. Everyone that knows Nate and I know that we are not really into Halloween. This year we got more into it because it is more fun when you have kids. Nate and I both dressed up as zoo keepers. I made us each shirts that had our names on the front and said "Harris Zoo" on the back. The pictures we took of the back did not turn out very well. We will try to get better ones on Halloween and post them.

Here is Callie getting ready to go trunk-or-treating with her daddy. She even has a "Callie-sized" bucket for her candy.

Here she is walking with daddy and her uncle Jared.

Look at all of the candy she got. Her bucket is packed full. She doesn't seem too thrilled, but Nate looks happy about it.

Here is a picture of the back of her costume

Reflections

This past little while I have been reflecting over the events of the past year. Exactly one year ago today, Nate and I found out I was pregnant. Pregnancy was definitely not a pleasant experience for me. I was sick 7 of the 8 month I was pregnant and had to be on anti-nausea medication so I could keep my food down. I went on disability from work for 6 weeks during which time I felt like I wanted to die. I had a PIC line for about 3 weeks and was hooked up to the IV for 8 hours a day. I took 4 or 5 trips to the emergency room. I suffered from panic attacks which we discovered was a side-effect of one of the medications I was on. I also had to get fat and I am still trying to recover from that. But as I look back at all of this I learned two very important things. One, I have the best husband in the world who supports me and stands by me even during difficult times. And two, I love Callie more than anything and would do anything for her, even go through that whole pregnancy thing again. She was definitely worth it.

Golf Range

This past weekend Callie and I went to the Golf range with Nate. Callie loved it. She would laugh everytime Nate hit the ball. She either liked the sound that it made or she thought her daddy looked funny while swinging his golf club. Either way, it was really entertaining to witness. Luckily the range was not too busy so she was not disturbing many people. I tried to get it on video, but in order to do that I had to put her into her carseat. She wasn't as happy when I wasn't holding her so I was not able to get the full effect on video, but here it is. Enjoy! (kids are so fun!! You can't tell that much from the video, but she really was laughing before I put her down)

Snow

This morning we woke up to snow so we took Callie out for her first snow experience. We don't have a snow suit that fits her so we bundled her up in a few layers of clothes. Here are some cute pictures.

Cute picture with Callie and her daddy.

Here is Callie sporting the hat that Brian and Jared got Nate for Christmas last year. At Christmas I was only 12 weeks along so we weren't sure if it was a boy or girl. Nate really wanted a boy so everyone was teasing him about having a girl (I don't know why men think that it is more manly to produce a male child). The hat is really big on her since she has such a small head. Maybe it will fit next winter boys.

4 Month Check-up

Callie had her 4 Month check-up today. For those of you who were curious, here are her size results. Callie weighed 9 lbs 13 oz which put her in the 1-2 percentile. Her growth was most drastic in her length. She is 23.5 inches long which bumped her all of the way up to the 25 percentile. Her head circumference is still in the 1-2 percentile.
I walked past Callie's bassinet the other day and caught her sucking her fingers and hugging her bear. It was so cute I just had to take a picture of it. It wasn't until later when I was showing the picture to Nate that I realized she is flipping me off with the hand around her bear. I am going to have to break her of that habit when she is older so people are not offended by it.

Here is Callie stuffed in our couch

I think she always looks so cute after a bath

I am not really a crafty person but I decided that I wanted to start tying bows to put in Callie's hair. Here she is sporting the first bow I tied. I know it is not much, but I was pretty proud of myself.

Ears

For those of you who have made comments about Callie's ears, here is where she gets it from. This is a picture of me when I was a baby. I had ears that stuck out just like hers.

Trip Home

We flew back home from Oregon on Tuesday. We decided to take one last family photo before we left.

Since I was travelling alone on the way to Oregon, I was unable to get a picture of Callie's first plane ride, but here are some pictures of her second plane ride. Callie was really good and didn't really cry at all. I was happy about that. I didn't want to be the person on the plane with the screaming baby.

Callie watched out the window during take-off. (It is also a pretty good picture of her bald spot in back where she rubbed off her hair. I hope it grows back quickly)

Here is a picture with Mount St. Helen's in the background.
