Callie Comes Home

Callie decided that she was done with the hospital. She was sick of the feeding tube and all of the monitors she was hooked up to and she had no problem letting us know just how she felt. (Picture taken the night before Callie came home)

Callie was released from the hospital on Saturday, June 21, after about 2 1/2 weeks of being in there. She was a wopping 5lbs 4oz. Luckily she reached 5 lbs or we would have had to buy a different car seat since the minimum weight was 5lbs.

Callie Jean Harris

Callie Jean Harris (named two days after birth) was born via C-Section on June 5, 2008 at 7:10am at American Fork Hospital. She surprised us by coming 5 weeks early. She was 4lbs, 11oz and 15.5in long. Even though she was early, she was perfectly healthy and surprisingly enough did not even need to be put on oxygen because her lungs were fully developed.

On her first day of life Callie decided that she would rather sleep than eat which landed her in the Level 2 Nursery (NICU) at 11:30pm that night. She had to be put on IV and a feeding tube was inserted into her nose.

Since Callie was so small she had a hard time keeping her body temperature up. She was kept in an Isolette to help keep her warm.

On my third night in the hospital, the boys decided to kick me out of bed so that they could toast Nate on becoming a new father. (Jared is looking a little tipsy)

This was my first time giving Callie a bath in the hospital. She didn't like it very much.

Happy Fathers Day! He is such a proud father. Unfortunately Callie was in the hospital for Nate's first Father's Day, but we did get to spend some time with her. We even dressed her in a little outfit that said "Daddy's Little Girl"
