Coeur D'Alene

May 18-25 we took a trip to a resort on Lake Coeur D'Alene in Idaho with Nate's Family. We flew into Spokane, which is where Daren (Nate's brother) and Heather are living. Daren picked us up at the airport and then we spent the afternoon there waiting at their apartment for everyone else to arrive.
Callie loved playing in the rocks that were used to landscape Daren and Heather's apartment building. She had fun playing outside after the day of travelling.

The first two days of our trip Callie and I spent the time trying to catch up on rest. Callie was not napping or sleeping very well at night so we were both pretty worn out. On Thursday we all went to see a movie "Angels and Demons" (I was walking around with Callie for at least half of the movie so I missed parts).
Before the movie we walked down to this lake and got to snap this family photo.

After the movie we went and walked around the docks in downtown Coeur D'Alene. There was a boat show going on where you were allowed on the boats to have a look. Here is Callie with her Daddy in one of the boats. I had pictures of them on one of the yachts but they did not turn out too well.

After we toured the docks Nate took Callie on a little walk down in the park. She loved playing in this stream and wanted to jump in the water which was pretty cold. I don't think she would have been too happy had we let her have her wish.

Baby Photo Contest

Our city is holding a baby photo contest with the theme "Baby Boot Camp" We thought it would be fun to enter Callie so I threw this outfit together for her and held a little photo shoot.

I kept trying to get her to smile for the photo. I think she was a little confused about what I wanted her to do because she just kept clapping.

This is the photo that I ended up submitting for the contest. We will just have to wait and see if she makes the top 10 finalists.

Mother's Day Weekend

On Saturday afternoon Callie and I went to her uncle Gage's soccer game. Callie had a good time because she loves being outside. Gage's team won the game!!

Gage is the one in the center of the picture in red.

Here is Callie running around the field at half-time.

For dessert for Mother's day I made smoothies for everyone. That morning I was cutting up all of the fruit for the smoothies and decided to let Callie try watermelon. I kept trying to get her to eat off the right side, but she kept wanting to chew on the rind and would get mad at me when I try to help her turn it around. It looks like 3 of her teeth on the top are all close to coming in so it probably felt good on her gums.

Here is Callie giving her Grandma Marx her card on Mother's Day.

Picture of Grandma Marx holding up Callie's card.

Callie got to take her fist trip to the cemetery to visit her Grandma Ramona's grave. She was sick on Mother's day and very exhausted so she was not a happy little girl. This is the best picture we could get. She is sort of smiling.

Almost Walking

Callie is getting really close to walking. She can pull herself to the standing position really well. She just needs to work on her balance. Nate and I try to get her to walk between the two of us but she is too scared and doesn't like to do it without us holding on to her. I can't wait for Callie to walk!! I know some parents would think that was weird, but it would really save mine and Nate's back from a lot of pain. Callie can crawl to get anywhere she wants to, but all she wants to do is to have us hold her hands so she can walk around. I do this all day and by the end of the day my back is really tired from all of the leaning over. I am going to become a hunch back soon.
Callie loves to play in the fridge. If she is nearby when I open it for something she bolts for it. Here are some cute photos from the other day.

Baby Shower

This past weekend I threw a baby shower for a friend in my ward who is going to have a little boy in June.

Here is a picture of my sad attempt at decorating a cake. I definitely need to practice more because decorating cakes is something I would really like to be able to do.

I also made chocolates for the shower. They turned out pretty cute.

Formula

I just have to say, formula is so expensive!!! Callie drinks about 1/2 as much as other kids her age and last month we spent about $80 on formula. It costs about as much as feeding an adult so this week I decided to try to see how she handles whole milk. She seems to be doing good so far. I am keeping my fingers crossed because that would save a lot of money.
