September

Labor Day weekend we took Callie up Provo Canyon to Bridal Veil Falls for the first time. She loved playing in the water and throwing rocks.

Nate's whole family was able to come into town for Jace's blessing so we decided to take family pictures. It was and adventure trying to get Callie to cooperate when all she wanted to do was run and play. My sister Hannah took the pictures for us. I haven't seen how they turned out yet, but this picture if from my camera. It is pretty cute other than the fact that it looks like Callie is pulling Jace's arm off. She is really just trying to hold his hand.

This picture was also taken the same day. I thought it was a pretty cute Father-Son picture.

We blessed Jace on September 5. Here is the handsome boy in his blessing outfit. We had many family members attend his blessing. It was great to be able to visit with everyone at our home following the blessing. Thanks to all who attended.

My cute kids.

Our little family. If Nate and I are looking a little tired it this photo is it because we are. We now have 2 kids who get up in the night so Nate gets to get up with Callie and I get up with Jace. No one in our house is getting a full nights sleep. Hopefully that will change soon.

Our handsome little man.

We took Callie bowling for the first time. She did really well and loved to push the ball down the ramp and then would walk off not caring how many pins she knocked down. She bowled much better than me. I have never been a great bowler, but on this occasion I bowled my worst game ever. I probably had about 6 frames where I didn't knock down a single pin.

On September 10 we had a block party which took place right in front of our house. It was a lot of fun. There was probably about 100 people there. The party featured a dinner of smoked meats which were cooked in a huge smoker that was brought in on a truck, a live band, a huge inflatable slide, a small bounce house for the little ones, and it ended with an outdoor movie on a large inflatable screen. As you can see from the picture below, Callie really enjoyed her strawberry soda.

There is a picture on our bedroom of Nate and his brother Brian holding the fish the caught. Callie saw that picture and started to cry saying she wanted to hold a fish too. Since then we have wanted to take her fishing so she could hold a fish. We took her down to Payson to a trout farm. This is the fish that I caught. Callie was a little leery of it since it kept squirming.

At this trout farm there is no catch and release so you have to keep everything you hook. We ended up catching 5 fish, four of which were only about 6-7 inches. You pay by the pound and they will even clean and fillet them for you. Callie watched them fillet the fish and was really excited to eat them. It was late when we got home that night so we had to wait until the next night to cook them. When Callie got up the next morning her first request was to see the fish, or rather the fillets we had in the fridge.

I signed Callie up for a dance class called "mini creative." The class is for 18 months to 3 year olds. Callie had her first class this past Thursday. She loved it and had a lot of fun. She was pretty timid though and would mostly only dance when I was dancing with her. Hopefully after a few classes she will warm up a bit.

The class is only 30 minutes long. Callie thought it should be much longer. When class was over she didn't want to leave. I had to carry her out to the car kicking and screaming. That part was not fun. She better not do that every time.

Nate's mom was able to stay and visit for a couple of weeks after Jace's blessing. I thought this was a really cute picture with her and her grandson.

Callie let me curl her hair for the first time. It didn't turn out exactly how I pictured it, but she still look really cute.

Callie was given a present by her Grandma Harris and then Callie decided to dress up in all of the ribbons.

August

I have been really bad at keeping up my blog now that I have 2 children to keep me busy. Instead of doing a bunch of separate posts I am just going to summarize what we have been doing for the past little while.

On my birthday I had the privilege of having all of my siblings in town. We all got together at my house for a dinner/party. We had almost the entire family together. Two of my brother in-laws were not able to make it (Bryan did come out a few days later for a visit).

Callie loves to ride on the dirt bike with her dad. She has gotten to the point where she thinks they need to have a ride daily. Callie is fearless when is comes to stuff like this.

Nate's mom came out and help after Jace was born. It was great having her here. We were not very good at pulling out the camera during her visit so we snapped a few pictures at the airport as she was departing.

My Grandma and Grandpa Nyberg came out from Minnesota to visit. This picture is with Jace and Callie's Grandma and Grandpa Marx and Grandma and Grandpa Nyberg.

Callie loves to help give Jace his baths. This is Jace's first bath in his tub.

Here is the cute helmet we bought for Callie so she can ride on the dirt bike.

Callie loves to lay down next to Jace and have mommy take their picture. She is a very good big sister and is just smitten with her little brother.

Jace practicing his innocent look.

Callie and some of her cousins at Farm Country

My parents were able to have all eight of their Grandchildren together. Such cute kids.

Callie loved having all of her cousins in town. She was sad when Haylee and Biance left to go back to California. Here are the four youngest Marx grandchildren (excluding Jace) watching a movie together.
