We had Callie's Birthday Party on Saturday. She wanted to have a Dinosaur themed party. I had a lot of fun planning it and Callie helped me with all of the preparations.
Then we went exploring to find a dinosaur cave.
We set up dinosaur footprint around the yard leading to the cave.
They all looked so cute in their hats and looking through their binoculars.
We made a little cave under our deck.
There was a dinosaur nest with paper mache eggs that Callie and I made that each contained a little plastic dinosaur.
We then did picture time with Kota, Callie's pet dino. He moves his head and tail and roars. He also plays music and will eat leaves (made out a material) when you put them in his mouth. He responds to noise and touch, but when you ignore him for a while has falls asleep and snores. It is really cute. Callie and Jace love it.
Here are each of the girls after they picked out their eggs and are about to crack them open. (Callie had 2 more friends show up later that are not pictured here)
The next activity that we did was caching dino duckies in a net out of Callie's little pool.
And then on to the pinata. We had the kids hit it with a plastic bat that we knew would not break anything, but I wanted each one to have a turn, plus it is safer that way. Then no one could accidentally get hurt. Then after each kid had a turn, Nate hit it open with one of Callie's golf clubs.
Here is the cake I made for Callie. I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.
Callie had a hard time blowing out her candles and so we ended up having Jared help her from the other side of the table.
