Callie's Birthday Party

We had Callie's birthday party on Saturday.  It was a lot of work for me, but so fun.  We did an Enchanted Forest themed party.  Unfortunately since I was so busy during the party time I did not get pictures of the actual party.  I know Jared took some. I will have to get them from him and maybe post later.  We did take video and I will post some of those.  We had 12 of her friends show up for the party so all of the little ones kept up pretty busy.  We split them into 2 groups for activites.

Below is a picture of the invitation that was sent out.

I sewed each of the children little satchels so they could carry it around with them during the party to put all of their prizes and candy in.  The girls had purple and the boys had white ones with a brown strap.  The girls also got tiaras and wands and the boy had a knight helmet and a sword.  Each child also wore a magical invisibility stone to protect them from the dragons.

In the past I have spent hours creating cakes for my kids.  This year I opted for an edible cake topper so the decorating only took about 1 hour.

When the children showed up for the party they got to follow a rainbow path leading them to the backyard.

I turned the kid's rocking horse into a unicorn and they played a ring toss game.  The prize was a twisted marshmallow pole that was their "unicorn horn"

I sewed these mermaid tails so they could do a mermaid tail race (like a sack race).  It was so fun.  The prize was a little plastic fish with the message "I became a mermaid so I could swim with the fish"

They played "Kiss the Frog" game which is played like pin the tail on the donkey.  The prize for this game was a plastic frog with the message "I kissed a frog!"

I turned their dinosaur into a dragon for the day

And the children got to "slay a dragon" pinata.

We had each child slide down under the rainbow and then search for gold at the bottom.  We had little bags of gold coins hidden in the rocks.

It was a crazy day and I did not get to decorate as much as I would have liked, but all and all I think it turned out pretty good.  We also were really lucky because the strong winds held off long enough for us to have the party.  By 1:00pm it was pretty bad outside and all of her decoration were blowing away.  We lost their little kiddie pool, but luckily our neighbor snatched it up and brought it over later that evening.

Callie's Birthday - The Big 4!

Callie turned 4 years old on Tuesday, June 5.  I can't believe how fast these 4 years have flown by.  Callie has been such a joy.  I remember the day I held this tiny little girl in my arms for the first time.  And she is still a tiny little girl (tipping the scales at 25lbs), although you should never let her hear you say that.  She has a little bit of a small person complex and does not like to hear the words little, small, tiny, etc. when referring to anything about her.  She loves to sing, dance, play with her brother (sometimes) and friends.

On her birthday Callie got to celebrate by going to dance class with her friends.

We brought cupcakes for her to share with everyone.

She got the "royal treatment" where she wore a robe and a crown and all the girls danced around singing a birthday song to her.

In the evening we did a little party for her at home.  She has some of her favorite food for dinner.  She chose to eat "colorful" noodles with alfredo sauce, corn on the cob, breaded chicken and garlic bread.  Then we had cake and icecream and opened her presents.

Nate and I got her a Barbie and a Barbie Glam Vacation Jet.  Both Callie and Jace love to play with it and they have played with it several times each day since her birthday.

Carnival

Eagle Mountain had their Pony Express Days the last week of May.  We took the kids to the rodeo, carnival and parade.  I unfortunately only have pictures of the carnival.  We take them on the first night of the carnival because it is dollar night where all tickets are a dollar and all rides only cost one ticket.  The kids had a blast.  Here are a few pictures we took that night.

Jace really loved this slide and kept wanting to go over and over.  I think we only let him go 3 times.  Callie loved it when we took her last year, but this year she wouldn't go on it.

May

Life has been pretty crazy so I have not been great on keeping up on blogging so hopefully today is catch up day.  Here are a few activities in May.

Since the weather started to warm up we have been doing a lot of outdoor activities.  One day I took the kids to a new park in Saratoga Springs.  It has a really cool unique playground and they loved it.  They picture below is the kids on the pendulum swing.  One of their friends is on the other side balancing it out.  It took 2 of my kids to balance out one.  Callie and Jace are pretty close to weighing the same now.

They have this huge climbing pyramid.  This is just my kids at the very bottom.

We took a trip to the dinosaur museums with some friends.  They have a huge metal wall with dinosaur bones magnetic pieces.  The kids get to try and piece together a dinosaur.

With some of their friends playing on a dinosaur.

We have had some really warm days, but it has not been warm consistently so I have only pulled out the little pool because I have not wanted to blow up the large pool.
