June 2014 - Callie's Birthday

My little girl turned 6!  The years have just flown by.

We did Callie's friend birthday party the weekend before her birthday (June 5).  It was good we decided to do it then because I ended up in the ER 2 days before her birthday party and was then scheduled for surgery 2 days before her actual birthday party to have a tumor removed from my ovary.  If it was scheduled for the following weekend there is no way I could have done it.

Callie had a Scooby Doo birthday party.  I had a lot of fun with these decorations!

Callie even dressed up as Daffney for the party.  She looked absolutely adorable!

I decided to go with a store bought cake this year.

We played "wrap a mummy"

Played "Feed Scooby" toss game

Each of the kids got to hit their own ghost pinata which contained treats and a puzzle piece clue to where Callie's birthday present was hidden.

We then gathered up all the pieces and put the puzzle together.

All her cute friends that could make it.  Only half came.  That is the downfall of having a birthday right after school gets out.  A lot of people leave on vacation.

On the day of Callie's actual birthday I told her she could pick anywhere she wanted to eat for lunch.  She wanted to eat Vietnamese food.  My sister Cindy drove down and picked us up since I had just gotten out of the hospital the day before and was on heavy pain killers so I wasn't supposed to drive.

After lunch we went and attended my nephew Gage's high-school graduation and spent the remainder of the day with family.

May 2014 - Kindergarten Graduation and Gymnastics meet

Callie ended up having her Kindergarten Graduation Program and her first Gymnastics meet on the same day.

Here are some cute songs from her program

Callie's gymnastics class.  She was in the Kinder-Advanced program.  She had only been in the class for 3 months and she has learned so much.

Video of one of her routines.  She was super nervous.  She usually always lands her round-off, but I think she let her nerves get to her.  I loved watching it.  I think it was adorable.

May 2014

May was by far the busiest month of the whole year.

Here is Callie on the last day of school.  She looks really excited to be done.

I was in charge of all of the games for the PTA Carnival fundraiser.  It was definitely more work than I bargained for.  It took place on May 5 so I really wanted to do pinatas.  I made 200 individual pinatas.  Luckily my sister Cindy stayed with me one night while Nate was out of town and helped me finish them up.

They turned out super cute.

Cindy also helped me sort out all of the candy and prizes.

The night of the carnival Ang and her kids and also Cindy came to join us.

This was the end of the year gift I made for Callie's teacher.  I would bring in my Norwex Enviro cloth to clean the desks when I would help in the classroom on Thursdays.  Her teacher was so impressed with how well they cleaned we decided to give her some of her own.

There was an 80's themed dress up day at Callie's school.  We went all out for this one.  She asked, "What is no one else is dressed like this."  I replied saying, "Then it means their mom is not as cool as yours."

The kids started up T-ball and Nate was the coach for Jace's team.  He was the assistant coach for Callie's team, but unfortunately their games overlapped quite a bit so that made it hard.

For my mom's birthday we decided to celebrate by having a dinner of all her favorite foods and then doing a balloon send off where we each wrote a note and attached it to the balloons.

On Memorial Day we enjoyed spending time with family outdoors having a BBQ.

We got out the washers game and Jace decided to start a water balloon fight.

Once the water balloons were gone, they decided to start using the hoses.

These four were pretty soaked by the end.

May 2014 - Florida (May 10-17)

For our family vacation this year we decided to take the kids to Orlando, Florida for a week (May 10-17).  The kids were both really good on the plane ride.  Jace sat by Nate in the row behind us and I sat next to Callie.  We had a fun filled week.

We stayed at the Orange Lake Resort.

One of my kids favorite places to eat is Joe's Crab Shack because they love to eat crab.

I love the pictures of Jace and Callie.  Just chill'n in the Florida sunshine.

We decided to brave Disney World while we were there.  It was so hot.  It was 94 degrees and 97% humidity which is hard to handle when coming from the dry state of Utah.  The kids lasted a total of 6 hours before they wanted to call it quits and leave.

We had lunch in Gaston's cavern and had the roasted Pork Shank.

I waited in line with Callie for 2 hours so that she could see some princesses.  We saw Rapunzel and Cinderella.

Callie in front of the Magic Kingdom Castle.

One of the highlights of the trip was the afternoon spent on the the World's Tallest Inflatable Waterslide (168 feet long with a 40 foot drop!).  Callie loved it and kept going down over and over again.

Nate joined in on the fun.

Jace went down a couple of times and then he was done and wanted to just play at the park.

Relaxing with the kids by one of the seven pools after a day of swimming.

We attended a class on Florida wildlife and we each got a chance to hold a crocodile.

Jace was too afraid to do it on his own.  I was a mean mom and forced him to be there while I held it.  He just cried the whole time.

There were often afternoon thunder showers and the kids liked to go out and collect slugs and snails afterwards.

We took a trip to the beach one day.

It was super windy there so we spent most of the time in a cabana that we rented.  The kids even built their sand castles in there.

The best part about the ocean is playing in the waves.

On our last morning there we went miniature golfing at the resort.  The is Callie showing she got a hole-in-one.

By far the favorite activity on the trip was playing on this waterslide at one of the pools.  The kids would play on it for hours and loved coming up with creative ways to go down it.

It was such a fun trip.  It went by way too fast and it was hard to come back home.
