Damn, but that was some good bacon.
If you werent at the Nappannee gunshow on saturday, you fucked up big time.
Not so much for the guns; thjere were plenty of those and they were very nice. But the bacon was OMFG, I hope to tell you. Not that the biscuits or the scrambles eggs or the sausage or the gravt were anything to sneer at.
There was a guy there with an unmolested JP Sauer Drilling, 16x16x9.3X74r. I mean, utterly unmolested, clean stock, horn buttplate, side lever. Wanted $3200 for it, and I think I could have taken it home for 2, he claimed to have taken it to a dozen gunshows and just wanted some money for it.
Unfortunately it might as well have been two million, for the cash I had in my pocket.
On the other hand, the company was superior, as always; Speed Racer even made an appearance.
After absorbing the show we wandered through the Amish craft/antiques show, and saw a number of wonderful things. Brigid wanders up to a lovely quartersawn oak upright and plays eight bars of Fur Elise like she has been practicing it for ten hours previous. The ogwife and oglet found some books, and I found a bench, and pressure tested it for a while. It passed with flying colors, the Amish can build stuff!
Anyway, you have no idea what you missed if you werent there.

As far as the gunshow, you didn’t. The breakfast was good, and the company was good, but you know that. I’m sorry I didn’t get through to you earlier.
The next show is actually in Schererville. You can always find them at the Big List of all Indiana Gun shows online.
Most of this post was about making some people jealous, and not necesarily you.
Shoulda come over for breakfast this AYEM too….More bacon and french toast…..And excellent company: Brigid and friends and even Speed Racer himself….
