Boyz

Not sure I can adequately express how much we love these Boyz.  They add so much goodness, light, and fun to our family.  We see the time and energy their parents spend with them everyday, teaching and showing them how to be kind and learn new things.

They are the BEST and our greatest desire for them is the same as it has always been for our kids....
"I have no greater joy than to hear my children & grandchildren walk in truth." 3 John 4:1

Can't believe how fast they are growing up and how much we LOVE them.
Soooo grateful we get to have them close by!

One of Koa's favorite faces!

Hanging out at Gigi's house

They seriously are the BEST!

Bed'R Homes for Kids

This news story aired tonight on KSL-TV (Click link above)
A  few weeks ago I was out at the shipping containers we are using to store all the beds and bedding for our students and families in need.

One of the schools I get to oversee recently had refugees from Venezuela relocate to their area.  Everyone in the school community has been kind and gracious in welcoming them and ensuring they have the basic necessities to begin their new lives in Utah. My job was bed delivery for a Mom and her 6 year old daughter.  It's so nice that  matresses now come tightly rolled up in these small bozes.  I had 2 beds, 2 pillows, and 2 sets of Beddy's  (I just have to say a huge THANK YOU to these local companies providing all of these beds and bedding supplies)

I headed to the school to get the Prinicipal and Head Secretary and off we went to deliver beds.
I love that I never know exactly where my JEF assignments will take me or what skills I will need. Today I got to use my not so great Spanish skills, and found I could do pretty well, and Google translate can take care of the rest.
I know I could and probably do say this every sigle day.....but I am just so grateful for ALL of the GOOD GOOD people in this world who share kindness and love with others. That is what makes this world such a wonderful place.

Draper Temple Sealings

For many years we have tried to recognize and record the Tender Mercies the Lord blesses us with on a daily basis.  They come often, unexpectedly, and are often even more present during times of trial and suffering.  It was a tender mercy that we were able to get a sealing appointment for tonight in the Draper temple and to share this night with Jeremy and Lindsay

There is nothing better than sealing husbands and wives to one another and children to their parents.  It is a sacred work and is so important to the Lord that He provides a way for this work to be done for every family that has lived here on the Earth.

We love the temple and we love serving there together.

4th Dose

This girl got her 4th dose of the Covid-19 vaccination (aka. 2nd booster) and her body is about as protected as possible from catching the virus.  We are thankful for all her health care workers and all those who have supported her the past year as she had tried to stay healthy and strong.

Celebrating 29 years

Tonight we all got together to celebrate Elan's 29th Birthday.
We love having him in our family and love seeing him love and take care of his own little family.
He had a special helper to assist in blowing out all the candles.

Happy Birthday Elan!  May this be the beginning of an awesome year ahead. We love you!

Draper Temple Baptisms

When one door closes, another door opens. We have always found this to be the case with the Lord.

This weekend we had planned to be traveling with the BYU Lacrosse team, but other things took precedence over that, and the Lord provided 2 open spots in the Draper Baptistry so that we could be in the temple with Brenna and her friend Boston. It has been years (pre-Covid) since we've been able to do baptisms and confirmations with Brenna.  So good to be there again, to remember the simple yet powerful covenants we make at baptism, and to know that those on the other side of the veil were now having the opportunity to choose to enter into those covenants themselves.
Being there also brought a great sense of peace and hope to our hearts as we mourn the loss of our friend Gerry.  It is because of the covenants we make and ordinanes we particiate in within these holy houses of the Lord that unite, seal, and bind us together as eternal families. We know that to be true.

February Cabin Fun

The snowmobile was full so we pulled Kay on the sled

Koa loved his new sled...no hills needed, just pull him on the flat parts and he's happy as can be.

A favorite play area

Spent the Sabbath at 'Cabin Church'
We head down the canyon (trying not to get too muddy) and attend the Wanship ward with other couples that live up the canyon. It's always good to get to gather and worship with others and to partake of the holy sacrament to complete the repentance process and renew covenants.

February Wedding

It was such an honor for Robert to officiate the wedding of Stephanie Gonzalez to Wilson Sanchez last weekend.  It was a beautiful ceremony over looking the most spectacular view of the valley  We have been friends with Steph's parents - Amber and Leo for 16 years now, and have literally watched Steph and her siblings grow up.  It has been our pleasure to see Steph and Wilson's relationship grow and get to know them better as a couple. They will be a great duo.

Surgical Technologist

For several years now, Brenna has been interested in becoming a Surgical Technologist. Here's a little about what they do:
During surgery, technologists pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants. ... They may hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.

The program she is looking into is run through SLCC and recently held an Open House for students to come learn more about it.  We went to the part of campus whre the program is housed and taked with the director in his classroom. Learned about pre-requisities, applications, timing, jobs, etc.  He seemed to like her personality and before we knew it, she ws back in the lab helping with the 2 mock surgery's.

The 2 surgery's they walked her through were a caesarean section and a gall bladder removal, both of which Aubrey has had in the last 12 months, so I took a quick pic of the patient to show Aubs.

Brenna walked out of there on cloud 9.

FroYo Night

Mail Miracle

In our family, we defintely believe in miracles. Years ago we started recording tender mercies and ways we saw God's hand in our lives, and that act alone has helped us to be more aware and better recognize the miracles that surrounds us.

When Lindsay moved from the Missouri St. Louis Mission to the Brazil Sao Paulo South Mission, she accidently left her camera in car that drove her to the airport. Her camera was pretty important to her, as it was her way to document all of the experiences she was having, and most importantly the people she was meeting.

When one of her companions returned home from St. Louis, she came to visit us and brought Lindsay's camera.  I knew it would mean a lot to Lindz to have it, so I packaged it up with some new fuzzy socks and gifts from her Aunt Katherine and Uncle Mike and shipped it off to her.  That was August of 2021. I was able to follow the tracking to see the package arrive in Brazil customs on September 13th.  It stopped there. No further inforamtion, no tracking progress, no updates.

Lindsay return home from Brazil in November, never receiving her camera.  I just recently threw away the tracking receipt, as I no longer needed it adding clutter to my already full junk drawer.

Then today.......BOOM. UPS driver leaves this well worn and well traveled package on our front porch. Yes, we do believe in miracles.  We know without a shadow of a doubt that God is aware of us individually and that He is in the details of our lives. He showers our lives with small tender mercies that remind us of His goodness and love, and the pictures on this camera will take on even greater meaning now.
