Payton and Ellie are six!

We have partied hard for the girls' birthday! First we had a joint family party with cousin Hunter at Chuck E Cheese! It'd been a while since we'd been there, but they still love it!

Then we had a friend birthday Luau at our house. Fun times as always!

Of course, we always need birthday balloons! I asked the girls what they wanted and Ellie said, she wanted Barbie and Payton said she wanted one that says "You Rock!" Well, I found princesses and "It's all about YOU!" They were satisfied.

Then last night we went out just us to a Teppanyaki steakhouse where we got to see lots of fire and knives thrown around right in front of us!

This week we are off to visit my sister, Karisa, in Portland where we'll meet my parents for Thanksgiving and have yet one more birthday party there!

Whew! Happy Birthday Girls, we love you!

First Day of School 2013

Max on the first day of Third Grade. He's so grown up!
Ellie on the first day of Kindergarten. She wanted her hair wavy so we braided it wet the night before.
Payton. Their teacher gave them the blank cut out at our back to school night and asked them to decorate it to represent themselves and bring it on the first day of school. I think they turned out great and very good representations of their different personalities!

Guess What? It's been over a year and I'm finally posting something!

Well today is the first day of all day kindergarten. I have no children until 3:00 pm. It feels quite weird and I'm anxious to see how the girls survive. I do miss the little buggers, but the upside is that maybe I can actually blog again now! I say maybe, because I was never really good at this before so we'll see how I do. For those of you who don't know...we had a big change in our lives this summer.
Neil got a new job at Eastern Washington University near Spokane, Washington so we packed up, rented out our house, said goodbye to our dear friends in Henderson and moved 17 hours North to Spokane!

We are so sad to not be in Henderson anymore, we really thought that was our permanent home. Now I am realizing that we will probably have several more moves in us before we are through. Neil has a great job here and is really enjoying it. We are settling into Spokane and have felt very welcomed into our new ward. We are also loving being near family, hanging out with grandma and grandpa, aunts and uncles and cousins.
This is the kids the first time they are seeing our new house. We are just renting for now, but are enjoying the basement and backyard that is big enough for a trampoline!
Stay tuned...maybe I will post some more stuff.

THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

This was Max's first day of school.  He started second grade and so far he's only had a few "boring days".  We drove him to school and walked him in (because that's what Mom's like to do on the first day of school). Max would have rather taken the bus, but he's learning to indulge me on some things. Unfortunately letting me pick out his outfits is not one of those things. I've decided that instead of fighting Max on what he wears, I just let him wear what he wants and know that I don't have to look at it all day.

This was Payton and Ellie's first day of school.  They started preschool today and go twice a week.  They love it of course and kept singing their new songs all day!
Although Payton is a little taller than Ellie, she's not this much...Payton is standing a little in front and they are on a hill...Do they look like twins?

SUMMER

Once again, a whole summer has passed and I haven't documented anything!  Here is the quick recap...
We went to Spokane for Andrew and Tiera's wedding. We drove the whole 16 hours in one day straight! It's so nice that the kids are getting older and able to do things like this without us wanting to throw them out the window or jump out the window ourselves!

We had a great time staying with Marty, Lexi, Hunter and Annie! There was lots of four wheeling and we even got to go to Silverwood amusement park this year.

On the way home we stopped in Utah. The girls and I stayed for almost a week to play, while Neil and Max flew home for the last week of school and some fun Father/Son time.

When we got back our good friends, the Salos, were moving to California.  So we spent some fun time together staying and swimming at the MGM.  It was very sad to see them go and we miss them lots!

We celebrated Father's Day together

In July we went back to Utah and celebrated the Independence Day, went to the races, spent lots of time with cousins, and got to go to Lagoon!

Then in August the Salos came back to visit for a few days and the week after we went to California to visit them! Did I mention they're really great friends and we like them a lot?!?

We went to the beach and the kids loved it this time!!!
They played in the sand and jump and jumped and jumped in the waves.
The girls couldn't stop giggling!
We had a really fun summer and I can't believe how fast it went!  This post really doesn't do it justice and I wish I had more time and patience to write about everything and show more pictures...but I guess this is better than nothing!
