'Tis the Season!

Ridley and I have been busy doing all kinds of fun Christmas activities this month. She will not come near Santa with a 10 ft. pole so you won't see any pictures of her, screaming or happy, on his lap (I just couldn't do that to her) but you will see pictures of us having lots of Christmas fun! Merry Christmas!

This picture was taken while we were waiting in line for Santa. You can see how unhappy she is, screaming and crying ensued quickly after this which is why we did NOT visit Santa this year!

MusicMaker and Bulldogs vs. Gators!

Her favorite instrument, the drums!

This is sort of 2 posts in one so try to keep up!
Ridley and I have been taking music class this fall with our good friend Grant and his mommy Stacy. Ridley LOVES anything to do with music. She frequently asks for her "dum" (drum) so she can march around the house playing it. The other day at Homegoods she had a minor tantrum because I would not buy her a play accordion and piano. We frequently rock out to the Music Class CD and have a grand old time doing it! Here are some pictures of music class.

We've been hanging out with Grant and Stacy a lot lately and Ridley and Grant have become good buddies. The only problem is Grant and his mommy are HUGE Gator fans!!! We just really try to act cordial to each other but gamedays are especially hard (hahaha)! Anyway, the big GA/FL game is coming up on Halloween and 2 weeks ago I would have told you the Bulldogs don't have a chance but the Gators aren't looking so hot lately and the Bulldogs have actually started to look a little better so there is some hope! In honor of our little rivalry I'm posting some pictures taken of Ridley and Grant in their opposing team apparel. Grant was so excited about this picture his mommy printed it out and hung it up in his room and he's taken to kissing Ridley's picture and telling her good morning! 2 year-olds are so cute! GO DAWGS!!!!!

Big 2 Year Old!

Well, it's official we have a big girl now. I just cannot believe how fast these past 2 years have flown by. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital and cooing over her every move. It seems funny to us now that we got so excited about such little things as smiling, making cute noises, even pooping! Ridley does so much now, she is really becoming quite the helper around the house (thank you Martha for the broom), and wants to be a little mommy taking care of her dolls and making coffee in her coffee pot. She follows directions which just blows me away. I can tell her to go get me something or let Dixie in or out of a room and she will do it! Amazing! I am relishing in the fact that she doesn't yet protest. I just imagine the days when she's a teenager and I ask her to do something for me and she rolls her eyes and tells me I'm lame. :)
Here are some pictures of her Birthday weekend. We had a Birthday dinner on Friday, her actual birthday, party with friends at the playground on Saturday morning and then another Birthday dinner with Totsie and PawPaw and her Atlanta Grandparents Robbie and David Lewis. Grandma Eileen was here to help with all the festivities. It was a great weekend, thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate!

Havin' fun in the Mile High City!

Last week we visited Denver and had a great time with Gramma 'Leen, Uncle Danny, Aunt Brenda and cousins Henry and Chase. Here are a few of our pictures. Ridley did pretty good on the 3 hour flight out there and back, we had lots of activites packed in our carry-on! We visited the Denver Children's muesuem which was awesome and just hung out with the fam. It was a great time! Thanks everyone for making it such a fun trip. We love you!

The pigtail experiment

So I've been anxiously awaiting the day I could put Ridley's hair in pigtails, jealous that all my friends with 1 1/2 and 2 year olds are able to put their little girls' hair in pigtails. Ridley definitely has my hair, I was practically bald until I was 2 and she seems to be following right in my footsteps! Her hair is growing quite quickly now and it's coming in just like mine did, similar color, texture and loose curls in the back. Well, it finally seems long enough to try some pigtails so I experimented with them yesterday. Here is the result. They aren't my best work but you try pulling a toddler's hair into pigtails as she's squirming around trying to play. Surprisingly, after she pulled them out a few times and I had to re-do them, she ended up leaving them in most of the day! As cute as they are, I am a little sad, it sort of makes her toddlerhood official. She's not my baby anymore! :( Enjoy these pictures of our almost 2-year-old!

Lake of the Ozarks

My Uncle Mark got married last weekend at The Lake of the Ozarks.  This is an event we all have been waiting for for YEARS and questioned whether it would really happen.  He married a wonderful woman, Katie, whom we're happy to have join the Mueller clan.  Unfortunately, I could not find my camera until the last day we were there so these are the only pictures I have.  It was a great weekend full of lots of fun, food and drinking of course... what the Muellers do best.  The wedding was beautiful, Ridley had a grand time with all her cousins and aunts and uncles and we had tons of fun playing in the Lake all weekend.  Thanks to everyone who made it such a special time.  Love you all.

Is this a girl who enjoys a boat ride or what???

My Girly Girl

She saw me painting my toenails and wanted hers done as well. I got through 7 of them before she decided that was quite enough of her pedicure! I can't wait for the day we can get real pedicures together!
My little prodigy double-fisted with margarita glasses. They are empty by the way, she grabbed them out of the dishwasher as I was unloading it and did this on her own.

Getting ready to go to the pool in her pink crocs and "sungasses."

In her gymnastics outfit, so cute!!!

She did this herself, I swear! It's sort of scary what they learn by just watching you!

At 21 months, Ridley is such a Girly Girl. This post is in honor of my friends Kara and Kara, ironic I know. My oldest friend Kara (Johnson) Keusenkothen found out last week that she is having a little girl in December! This morning, my old roomate and friend Kara (Sustakovitch) Kiefer had a baby girl, Jacey-Kate, (they didn't know the gender beforehand)! So here's what you have to look forward to ladies...hairbows, pink crocs, lots of dresses... I think my other girlfriends with little girls would agree, little girls rock!!!

4th of July Fun

Daddy and Ridley having fun before the fireworks begin

Watching with mommy

We had a nice little 4th of July in Atlanta. We spend most of the day at the pool with our friends Paolo and Leah and their son Luca who is close to Ridley's age. After a much needed nap for Ridley, we headed up to the high school to watch some fireworks with some neighbors and pool friends. Here are a few snapshots, I forgot my camera for most of the day but luckily grabbed it as we were dashing out the door to go see the fireworks. It was no show like seeing them from the boat at the Lake of the Ozarks but it will have to do for this year. We sure did miss going to the Lake this year though.

walking in someone else's shoes

Hmmm...how would it feel to go to work like daddy?
Flip Flops are much more comfortable!

These wedge sandals are glamorous but not very comfortable!

Just heading out for a run

Ridley has recently picked up the hobby of putting on Bill and my shoes and walking around the house in them. I think this is a typical toddler trick but it is particularly hilarious to us of course. Here are a few snapshots of her walking in mommy and daddy's shoes....

Dixie the tolerant Boxer

This is just one example of what a tolerant dog Dixie is. The other day I walked into the room to find Dixie wearing Bill's Master's cap and Ridley standing in front of her assessing how she looked. I was cracking up needless to say! Sorry it's sideways, I'm still figuring out this blogging thing!

Ridley's last day of "school"

Ridley had her last day of "school", Mother's morning out really, the Wednesday before Memorial Day Weekend. We were so sad to say good-bye to her wonderful teachers and the the school as she'll be going to Peachtree Road Methodist next yer. However, it was a fun little party and Ridley had a great time playing in the baby pool, on the fort, with the balls and eating very messy popsicles! Thanks for a great year Chamblee Methodist!
