Spring Church Picnic

When you live in Hallettsville, the church picnic is just part of Memorial and Labor Day.  Even when we lived in Austin we would go the picnic for at least a couple of hours especially for lunch.  The homemade fried chicken, stew, and dressing are just hard to beat.  Well this year we made it all day at the picnic.  That meant no naps and plenty of spending money :).

That's a successful Sunday

Catching up

I thought I would spend tonight catching up on the blog with just a few quick pictures just to get caught up but there is too much fun that I just ignore it.
Let's start with baseball/softball.
Kenzie played coach's pitch this year and kevin was the head coach.  Not much drama and lots of fun and she got better.  What more can we ask.

Klayton was one of the few nine year olds selected to play with the major league (that means 12 year olds).  I was a typical nervous mom but excited for him.  Practices went good and of course he was up for the challenge but it was difficult to watch as he had a hard time with pitching and didn't get a hit.  He did make a couple of good plays in the outfield.  And then the season ended with no allstars.  It was definitely our first sports heart break but we tried to make the most of it with other fun events for the summer

But I can't skip to summer with out talking about the camping trip in Wichita Falls.  it was the first year in a while that me and my sisters and husband and kiddos all went camping.  The lake was really low and it was quite warm (although a few weeks later Wichita Falls got almost 19 inches of rain and the lake filled up quickly).  The trip started with a rattlesnake being killed by Richard but luckily after that it was more about good times and fun with family.

there was bubbles, broom ball, fruit cones, prairie dogs galore and massive tents.  It was a perfect camping trip.

And just like the school year was over and we had Kenzie's Pre-K "graduation." She had a great year and made some friends that are going to last for the next 13 years.  So happy to be a part of this school.
