Drive N Miss

My new ride! I plan on traveling to N O in this -It's the new Aspen Chrysler SUV and so far I love it! I've got to read the manual to understand all the bells and whistles before I take off. - My silver Pacifica is going to a new home with in-laws!

Alt N - alias chef Mike

Mike loves Alton Brown

Every chance he gets he t-voes the show and comes down afterwards and makes the food that Alton has just demonstrated. He has made some wonderful things - and loves to cook. I love it also! He loves to please his kids - so he decided to make his daughter in law's favorite dish - PIZZA! We had to shoot this many times to get these shots - so appreciate them won't you? There's a shot of the Alton cookbook that he reads (one of the employees got this for him last xmas). He made this specially for his daughters at Thanksgiving time.
The Girls loved it! Thanks Dad! We love your cook N

THANKSGIV "N" FOR SURE

I'm so thankful to find baby booties on the island in the kitchen - all pink and white and small.....to find a dirty diaper on the coffee table.....and on one couch a bottle of baby lotion (baby perfume as Kimmee calls it)and on the other a bottle lid. Dirty burp rags strewn around the den, with changes of clothes laying in the bathroom floor near where our baby A loves to take a swimming little bath. Bottles on the counter and formula in the fridge. Yes I'm so very thankful today (even though its the day after the "true" thanksgiving day of days) to see all this wonderful baby stuff all over our home. I'm thankful for both my children and their spouses and both my grandchildren, for my wonderful husband and for all of my extended family and friends. I was saying after a long day yesterday just how much I love holidays - I love being surrounded by those who are your family and seeing those who were always in your life and those who helped mold your life.

It was a good eats day with absolutely nothing missing (except maybe cousin Patty's Banana cake)and was just an absolutely joyful day. I've always enjoyed our family traditions and hope my children will continue to uphold the traditions that make us who we are. After all, without those traditions what do you have to pass on and share with your family? I'm glad that my family raised me to appreciate getting together and being with family and that they still hold this as high importance. It says that we love each other and care enough about each other to spend the time and effort. So much in this life to be thankful for. I'm lovin thanksgiv N for sure!

WiNNer!

I sit here watching the American County Music Awards and anxiously await the winners of each category. The best singing duo, song of the year, female artist, etc. is to be announced soon. Before the night is over we will all know the winners and it's over until this time next year when a whole new set of artists await the same nerve racking announcements. And yet, live goes on, with it's awards. Receiving awards is what a lot of us want in life. We seek little daily minute by minute gestures of recognition, pats on the back, smiles of acknowledgement, and to be told we're doing a good job.
This week we took our grandkids Halloween pictures to be placed in the newspaper. We did it because we're proud of them and wanted to show them off. We also wanted to surprise their parents with the pics in the paper.(Their first pics in newsprint) And it occurred to me that when they are grown up there may not even be newspapers. They may be obsolete and they can perhaps say that their picture was once in that old medium of communication. Who knows? After it (newspaper) went to print, we discovered that they were having a drawing of all the pictures submitted. We were notified the next day that we won! Yes, we knew our beautiful grandkids were winners! No one had to convince us of that, but we were ecstatic to find out that we had WON something for that selfish submittal of a cute (really really cute) picture. We won a guitar and amplifier for placing those pictures in the paper! Yes, our grandkids are WiNNers ! and we have the prizes to prove it! Make someone a winner today by smiling, acknowledging, thanking, and appreciating someone before the sun goes down. And I'm delighted that "Believe" won tonight! I really love that song!
