Okay, he's finally here!! I have a few minutes at my mom's to write a bit about the whole experience.
We went in to the hospital on Decemer 11, last Friday, to have a little bit of pitocin started. I wasn't in active labor yet, but I was practically on the verge. Thanfully, I only had about 6 cm to go before the baby would come, so it wasn't supposed to be a long labor. Around 11:30am the midwife broke my water, and that's when the fun started.
I wanted to see how far I could go on my own without getting any
kind of medication. At around 7-8 cm, I asked for IV drugs. Around 8-9 cm, I wanted the epidural right then. The contractions were awful and coming so fast. The anesthesiologist made it to my room to give my back about 3 sticks before I started flipping out with pain and wanting to push! Everything happened really fast then that it really freaked me out. I think the whole town heard me screaming in pain! The anesthesiologist was forced out of the room without his dr.'s coat, and three quick pushes later, Bennett arrived! Oh sweet release!! No kidding, as soon as the baby was delivered, the pain disappeared! For the love of Pete! I'm never doing that again. If we decide to have more kids, please give me the epidural before you break my water. In total, it took about 7 hours of labor for Bennett to get here.
He's such a cute little baby. Of course, I'm a little biased. He was born at 1:30pm, December 11. He was 8 pounds even, and 22 inches long. He's, by far, the longest of my three, but not the biggest. We were able to come home the next afternoon.
Tanner and Spencer are doing well with the baby. Tanner thinks it's the funnest thing to have him around. He stuck out his arms yesterday and said to daddy, "Take it. Take it." He wanted to hold Bennett. Love that! Spencer is having a little bit more of a rough time with having Bennett home. Spencer just needs a little bit extra attention and he's okay. He sees that baby and starts walking around the house saying, "Baby, baby." It's so cute to see all my boys! I love them all.
