My little helper!

I was washing dishes the other day and Lily decided that she needed to help. And ever since that day when she hears the sink she comes running. It is really cute that she wants to help. But as you can see from the pictures it is not a dry thing so we have to do it first thing in the morning before she is out of her pajamas or just before bed.

IT'S A GIRL!

It's official, Lily is going to have a little sister. After many weeks of looking and her being modest we found out today that it is a girl. I am glad that she uncrossed her legs long enough for us to get a good look. Start praying for Brock now. He is out numbered. He he he!

Happy Halloween!

We had a fun time at the Worthen Halloween party! Lily really enjoyed spending time with her cousins.

I could not get Lily to hold still for a picture of her in her costume. This is as good as I got.

Lily carving pumpkins. Or should I say Brock and I.

Chicago Trip

We really enjoyed our trip to Chicago. We got to see some friends, go to a museuem, do some shopping and Brock got to do something he has always wanted to do in life.

We were able to stay one night at the Hale's house. Thanks for letting us stay with you.

My mom and dad came with us. They really enjoyed the museum.

Lily loved playing at The Idea Factory. She really liked taking the balls and putting them in the tube that sucked them to another part of the factory.

Brock was able to go to a Bears game while he was there. He has been a Bears fan his whole life and I was glad that he finally got to go to a game. Plus this picture is from his seats.

Food Allergies!

I took Lily to the Allergist yesterday. I was debating on doing it because I really thought that she was fine. I am very glad that I took her. She has never had a severe reaction to food, but after eating a few different foods she sometimes breaks out into hives around her mouth. So I thought that maybe she needed to go.

She had to have a skin prick test. Which I was really nervous about because I had no clue how I was going to get her to hold still. She did just fine with the that part it was after when her skin started to react to the different foods. Her back itched so bad. But there was nothing that we could do.

The test showed that she is allergic to Peanuts, Cashews, Pistachios, and Eggs. I thought that she might have a nut allergy. But the Egg allergy was a huge surprise. The doctor decided to check her for eggs because she has eczema, and sure enough that was one of the worst ones.

So now we get to carry an Epipen and check the labels of food. The doctor think that there is a chance that Lily will grow out of the egg allergy and that the peanut allergy may get better. She says that she doesn't think that she will ever have a severe reaction to the food, so the Epipen is just a precaution. Man am I glad that I took her.

Lily is going to be a big sister!

For those of you who don't know already, Brock and I are expecting our second child. I am due March 24th. Which will put them just under two years apart. We are very excited. Lily is not sure what is going on, but I think that she will be a good helper when the time comes.

I have tried and tried to see the sex of the baby, but it does not want to cooperate and keeps its legs crossed all of the time. So maybe one day we will know what it is going to be. But for now I am just glad that I finally got an okay picture to post.

JDRF walk to cure!

This past weekend Lily and I participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's (JDRF) annual 'Walk to Cure' Diabetes. For those of you who don't know Lily has two cousins with juvenile diabetes. Her cousin Baylie from my side was diagnosed when she was 7 and Cole on Brocks side when he was 4. They have both been fortunate enough to go this long with out any problems and we hope and pray that they will continue to go on without any. We love them so much and hope that some day there will be a cure for diabetes.

Utah State Fair!

I was thinking that it would be fun to take Lily to the state fair. Not really knowing what it was going to be like, since it has been years since I attended it in elementary school. I just remembered the big slide and the animals. Although I felt out of place I think Lily liked it. Lily loves riding carousel!

There was a fun little farm country. Where the kids were able to be farmers and plant vegetables and collect eggs.

But the funniest part was the big slide. Lily loved it. And yes we were with the little girl screaming her head off. That is our niece Addie.

The Box Fort!

We had a few random boxes that we finally got around to unpacking. So one morning Brock decided that he should make a fort out of them so that Lily could play in them. Really I think that it was so that he could play in it.

See what I mean.

Lily really did like it.

It took her a few times of standing up for her to realize that didn't work.

The Zoo!

This is Lily and all of her cousin that went with her to the zoo.

I tried to get Lily to sit on the Rhino so that we could get a picture
but she refused.

Lily loved the Elephants!

We could not get her off of these tigers. I finally just had to let her throw a fit because there were some other kids that wanted a turn.

I am not sure what Grandma told her but she was super excited about it.

We suck at blogging!

To those of you who still check this: thanks for not giving up on us. We'll be better, we promise. I know that there shouldn't be excuses made, but we have moved, had a visit from our friends the Packer's and I have been working. I think that life is finally slowing down, so I hope to be better.

Lots has happened since our last post. Where to begin...

Lily Loves Camping

Summertime means lots of camping for the Worthen's. Lily loves to play with her cousins, eat dirt, and paint rocks.

She also takes time to relax while we camp.

Even while camping, we have to build a cage to keep her out of trouble.

She really does love camping.

That is, until it is time to go home.

4th of July Festivities

Since I can remember my family has had the tradition of spending the 4th of July together. When we were kids on the 3rd we slept outside on my grandparents lawn. The next morning we would wake up eat breakfast and then get together again later in the day. For the past few years we started doing it at my parents house with my cousins and their kids. We added an outside movie on the 3rd and swimming in the afternoon of the 4th. We also get to enjoy tank firework races and a candy cannon. All a lot of fun and it is one of the few times I get to see my cousins.

Lily was a little bit afraid of the fireworks. But she did like watching them with grandma.

Lily and I swimming. She loves it.

It doesn't get better (or worse) than Round-up Days

Lehi City's yearly celebration is anchored by a PRCA rodeo and a miniture float parade (both things to be proud of, right?). Lily enjoyed most of the festivities this year.

Lily at the parade:

check out those sunglasses!

(apparently Lily enjoys parades as much as her dad)

She enjoyed the pony ride much more.

Glad we got these pictures--because she only lasted a half a lap!

Lily misses her friends--but loves her cousins!

Lily has loved being around her cousins. She misses Kate and Ethan, Whitney's belly (now Rachel Faye), PJ, Ella, and her other chicago friends, so she wanted to give an update of all the fun things she is doing.

Eating treats on grandma's swing:

(sorry about the bad hair)

Eating Pizza at the kids table. This is as good as it gets for a kid her age!

See that water bottle--that's mine. That's right--my own water bottle.

Peas are good. But, if you don't take the bowl and run away from people, you have to share. I take the bowl and run.

I suggest the same theory when you get your hands on your dad's diet coke.

It's real good (but it makes me sleep crappy!).

Hopefully no body (besides me) has peed in this water!

Grandma got this really cool bubble machine. One day I'll learn that it is cooler it you don't stand 6 inches from the bubbles.

Hope all my Chicago friends are having a good summer too! We miss you guys.
