LA Temple Christmas Lights

First of all, how cool is the new Visitor Center! It has all the latest technology, everything's touch screen and very user friendly and they have that cute little area for the kids. I love, love, love it, if you haven't been, go! When Kelsey saw this statue of the Savior she immediately pointed to it and said "That's Jesus, mommy" and then had to tell everyone else in the room who it was.

We went into this room where you can hear the different apostles testimonies and I started crying. I told Evan I wasn't even listening to what he was saying but I felt the spirit so strongly that I couldn't help it. It was amazing. :)

We decided to drive there a couple Sundays ago to look at the Christmas light display they do every year. It was so beautiful (unfortunately we didn't take our camera so we only got these few shots from Evan's phone) and Kelsey had a blast running around with all the other kiddies that were there. Seriously, if you want to take your kids to a free light display then LDS Temples are the way to go! Kelsey still talks about the Christmas lights, I'll be excited to go to take her to the St. George temple this week (where mommy and daddy were married) to see their's! And, I'll take better pictures this time. :)

This reminds me of a funny story. While living in Vegas, this girl that I went to school with said, "My boyfriend and I were driving around town and we came across this HUGE mormon church in N.Vegas...I bet most of the mormons in town don't even know its there!" Ha.

There's Kelsey again trying to help her face smile.Posted by Picasa

My Pretty, Ugly Christmas Tree

I'm kinda embarassed to even post these pics cause our Christmas tree is pretty sad. Kelsey is still the tazmanian devil and just destroys everything (hence already losing 3 ornaments from her destructive ways). So, if you notice behind her the tree is bare and above are a sprinkling of very odd and random ornaments.
I have all my moms old ornaments which is kinda fun for me because they are all the ones I grew up with. But, my dream is to have that pretty tree with the ribbons on it and everything matches (like the ones you see in decor magazines). I'm sure that is a ways down the road when my kids don't want to sit in the tree and break all the ornaments. Oh hum.
Oh and I love my little village that I inherited from my mom too. (Can you tell that I try to take artsy fartsy photos, but my camera SUCKS so they don't really turn out).
I tell Kelsey to smile and she thinks she needs to help her face everytime...silly.Posted by Picasa

Brooklyn's 3 Months!

Our sweet little Brooklyn turned 3 months on Monday. It's going by so fast I can't even believe it, I feel like I just brought her home. She is currently 12 lbs. She is already a daddy's girl, as soon as he comes home she just talks up a storm to him. She loves constant movement and always being held...yay!
She's overall a great baby, I get lucky in the baby dept, so far.
Btw, this is my favorite outfit of hers. Its so frilly and girly I wish I had one in my size :).

All I Want For Christmas is...

Jill and I took the kids to the grove to get a picture with Santa and go see the new movie Tangled, which was awesome. It was Kelsey's 3rd time on Santa's lap (still no picture of her crying with Santa). I've been showing her movies and tv shows with Santa prepping her for the big meet, I think she might be understanding what this is all about. She just had this look of shock on her face the whole time, we could not get her to smile! Brooklyn was just hanging out on Santa's lap, I think I could have left her there and she would be content (Santa, can I please leave one of my kids with you, that's all I'm asking.)
Tangled is super cute, Kelsey's first movie on the big screen and she was super good and sat there the whole time. Brooklyn didn't do too bad either. I always psych myself out for the first and was pleasantly suprised that I too could enjoy the movie.
Also ran into Mario Lopez, no big deal. He looks like a chic with all that makeup on....eeeehhhhh.
It was very hard for me not to partake in any shopping while we were there. Simply because my toddler would not allow me to enter into any store without a tantrum (Evan must have put her up to this.) I have to say that she is getting a little easier to manage in public, and hopefully I wont be eating my words.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas 2010

I am so excited for Christmas, its my absolute favorite time of year. We've never done Christmas cards before and I always regret it once we get friends and families. So, it was a bit stressful mostly cause Kelsey is a toddler and her attention span is 2 minutes. But, they ended up turning out. I love the picture of the girls together and the classic Kelsey picture bottom left. She is so silly, I love it.
Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving we spent it in Santa Barbara, as usual, the only difference was it was the first time at Grandma's house without her :(. But I'm excited to see her at Christmas. Holly pretty much cooked everything, myself and her mom-in-law brought a couple sides. It turned out really relaxing and low key...no craziness in the kitchen ;). Holly decorated the table really simple but cute and all the food was soooo delicious. She made my favorite pies, Pumpkin Chiffon mmmmmm yummy (good thing I told her to make 2, cause then I pretty much ate one to myself, so much for losing weight during the holidays).
The next day we took our leftovers with us to the Santa Barbara Zoo, Kelsey had tons of fun seeing the animals. I love that zoo, so quaint and beautiful.
And a couple photo ops with Brooklyn and Logan, they are so cute together.
Brooklyn has turned out to be so similar to Kelsey as a baby, she is so smiley. I like that I have really smiley babies! :) Must be cause mom and dad are so happy (cheesy, I know).
Justin, you made it on my blog, arent you happy :). Even I made it on my own blog. Don't you love when you are always the one taking pics but are never in the photos. I made someone take a pic of me with Kels and Logan (oh and my dang diet coke made it in the pic too).

Brooklyn's 2 months

And she's really excited about it! Brooklyn weighs 11 lbs 3 oz, 50% (exactly what Kelsey was at 2 months) and is 23 3/4" long, 91% (only 1/2" taller then Kelsey was). Brooklyn favorites include smiling, being held upright, only sleeping in the swing or in the bed next to her mommy and taking baths. She is such a sweetheart and we love that she's interacting with us more and more each day!

This week...

The weather's been cooler, finally so we've been doing a lot more of just staying in. Actually, we are stuck at home because Kelsey is a runner and doesn't know how to behave in public. Anyway, she's been begging me to make these muffins so I decided that she should be my little helper. They were too healthy and didn't really get eaten, but it was fun.
Kelsey loves her little sister and always wants to hold her and cuddle with her and she is really very gentle and loving to her (most of the time). Here's just some cute photos I snapped.

Trick or Treating

Say "cheese"(this is the face she does when we say that...nice).
Cute little cowgirl (yes, she had two costumes, another last year purchase).
Lookin at the loot.
"Ok Kelsey look at the camera, no do a normal pose, no just be normal." Guess that's her normal. :)

Ward Halloween Party

Some pics from the ward Halloween party. Kelsey and her little friends were so cute in their little outfits, they were both Minnie Mouse's. Kelsey had so much candy her eyes were like that the whole night! And her favorite little cousin by marriage once removed, or however you want to say it (he's actually Evan's, brothers, wifes, sisters son...got that) William, she just loves him because he's so sweet to her.

Kelsey and Evan's first pumpkin carving experience...

Ya, I can't believe it either. Evan started reading directions on how to carve a pumpkin and I said what are you doing, cut the top of and scrape it out! He said "Well I've never carved a pumpkin before." Umm, what?! How could he be so deprived coming from a family of 5. I don't know if I believe that, maybe he was too young to remember. And I laughed at the pattern and the little tools that came with it because I felt like I needed to come up with the design on my own and do it by hand, but that didn't turn out so hot for me last year. This was much easier! Never going back to the ol' kitchen knife for carving.
So, here's a look at our beautiful pumpkins. Kelsey's is the mr.pumpkin head pig one. That was a good buy last year at Walmart after Halloween sale. :) I added a bow to my skeleton and cross bones....just because. And if I could have added rhiestones, I would've.

Just some smiley pics of my girls!

LA Zoo

Last week we Kelsey went to the zoo for the first time. We went with a couple of friends on a rainy day and there was no one there, it was great! Kelsey always thought that her next animal was going to be her last so she was a little hard to deal with. She just didn't understand that we were moving along to see more....man I can't wait until she comprehends things a little better. All in all, she had a blast and we can't wait to visit the Santa Barbara Zoo.

Brooklyn's Blessing

Thank you to all who came, it was such a beautiful day. Evan gave Brooklyn a beautiful blessing, I'm so blessed to have a husband who hold the priesthood and I'm so grateful for the gospel in my life and all the many blessings it brings to my family.
(Uugh, can't wait to lose some weight!)

Cousins

Evan's brother and sister came out and brougth their families for Brooklyn's blessing. Kelsey especially had a lot of fun, she doesn't get too many opportunities with cousins so she was so excited. We are so happy they all came down, it was crazy but it was fun!

Brooklyn and Kelsey 1 month

Here's a comparing picture taken both at 1 month. Kelsey has a lot more dark hair and definitely has my dark olive skin. Brooklyn's taking more of her daddy's coloring.

Brooklyn's 1 month

Wow, has this flown by! I can't even believe she's already a month old. People keep asking if she's a lot like Kelsey...its hard to remember! All I know is I'm blessed with easy babies. I would rather take a crazy toddler (which I have) then a colicy baby, any day.
Well not much to report...she eats, poops and sleeps away most of her days. She sleeps so good at night, I have not lost one ounce of sleep yet! We love our Brooklyn.

Brooklyn, 4 days old

I had to force myself to do these because I knew I would regret it and might not get her so sleepy again. I propped her on the boppy under my comforter and snapped away (and thanks to Picassa was able to make them look pretty!)
I think she's adorable, but that's just me. :)

Random Sept Pics

Just some random photos I never posted from her first week of life.

Grandma Ruth

Holly brought Grandma down to see us before she moved. This was the first time she met Brooklyn, the newborns are light enough for her to hold. I love how Kelsey looks as big as 90lb gram.
For those of you who don't know my grandma, she's lived in Santa Barbara all her life (well 40+ years at least) and recently after her open heart surgery she's found it difficult to live on her own. So she moved up to St. George where my Aunt lives so she can be near her. Its so strange to have her in a new place and not so close to me anymore. The good thing is most of Evan's family lives there too so we can see both sides of the family in one visit. We miss her but glad she's getting more help and from what I hear she's had more visitors there then she had here!

Grandma Faucette

Evan's mom was able to come down and help with Brooklyn after she was born. Let me just tell you how nice it was to have her here to help out. She cooked, cleaned, did laundry, held baby, played with Kelsey, scrubbed walls, cleaned chandelier (never would have thought of that one) and so much more!

It was such a help to have her here. Since my mom passed away 3 years ago, having her here reminded me what it was like to have a mom to do things for you. It's so sad that I've forgotten what its like to have that kind of love in your life. You really don't realize all that mothers do for you until its gone. I am sad for people who don't have mothers in their lives and so appreciate that I have my mother in law to fill that void. (I better stop before I start you know what.)

Thank you, thank you, I don't know what I would do without you!

Meeting Brooklyn

This was one of the best moments, introducing Brooklyn to Kelsey. Her expressions really explain it all, kind of in shock, kind of excited! She loves her baby sister and is so gentle with her...so far.
Holly was there, but once again we didn't get any pictures of you!
