Another Fun Weekend!

This past weekend one of my great friends from college came to visit me, Carol Riell. We had a great time walking around Charleston! We went to the Farmer's Market, walked down King Street where all the nice shops are located, then to Market Street, and had some seafood for lunch. Then, we headed down to the Battery to look at all the amazing houses in Charleston and to see the water. Elizabeth loves playing on the pier, and walking around the water fountains...which is always a good photo opportunity!

Happy Anniversary!!!

Nathan and I are celebrating our 6th anniversary today, September 14th!! At times it feels like it has flown by, but then I think about all the things we have done in the last 6 years and it feels like a lifetime. We have been extremely blessed with where our path has taken us through the years. To think that 6 years ago today, we were faced with the reality of moving to a foreign country within 3 months of our marriage, and I was going to be a military wife. We lived in Germany for 3 years, and traveled all over Europe. That time seemed to fly right by...until we moved back to the states and learned that we were going to be parents. We could not believe how wonderful our life had been, and felt so blessed to be back with family at such an important time!!! Within the last three years, we moved to Summerville, South Carolina, we had a beautiful little girl, Elizabeth, Nathan had back surgery, he deployed while Elizabeth was 4 months old, we have traveled some, and now he is on his second deployment. So, I have to say that these last 3 years have moved along even faster. Our life has been such an amazing adventure! I thank the Lord everyday for our blessed life and family! My cup runneth over!

Weekend fun!

Elizabeth and I have had a fun weekend with friends. I got to go out with my girlfriends on Friday night to eat Sushi and hang out in Charleston. We ate dinner at Wasabi, a yummy sushi restaurant downtown, and then we went to the Pavillion rooftop bar.

Here is a group picture from Wasabi. From left to right: Jessica, Jenna, Sheree, Jen, Christina and Me.

Then on Saturday morning, Elizabeth and I went to the Farmers Market in downtown Charleston with our friends Christina, Noah and Katelyn. Here are some pictures from Charleston, and the Marion square where the market is held every Saturday.

Elizabeth loved playing in the fountain and chasing the pigeons with Noah. She would just giggle and giggle while Noah would chase all the birds.

While the guys have been gone, there is a group of girls that play soccer on Saturday afternoons. It has been such a fun time for both of us, because after the adults are done the kids get to run wild on the field and play.

On a rainy day!

It is a rainy day here in Charleston, and this picture is a good example of what I love to do on rainy days. Elizabeth has already beat me to it!! She has had a long week already. She has been sleeping a little better this week than she did last week, but there have still been a few early mornings. Her first day of school (Child's Day Out) was on Monday and she just loved it! I LOVE how they send something home with them everyday.

The first day they sent home her Red and Blue pictures that she colored. On Wednesday, she made a cute little picture that said "God made people". I love it! I have already mailed the pictures to Daddy! Elizabeth and I have been trying to keep busy the last few weeks. We spend a lot of time with friends! Mondays and Wednesday are usually busy with her school from 9-1, but Wednesday nights we are part of a wonderful bible study with the other girls in our squadron. We are doing a study called "Hope for the Home Front", which is specifically for military wives. It has been great so far. Elizabeth gets to play with her friends that night too. Tuesdays we have her Tumblebugs class at the YMCA and our playgroup. She really likes to jump on the trampoline, hang from the bars, roll down the sloped mats, and walk across the beams. She runs all over the place playing on every piece of equipment. It is a great class. Thursdays and Fridays are usually slower days because we don't have anything actually scheduled, but it seems like something always comes up. We play soccer on Saturday afternoons with our squadron friends. The adults get to play for a while...basically until we almost pass out because we are so tired...and then the kids get to kick the ball around and play on the field for while. Then we order pizza and hang out with everyone. This is really one of my favorite things, because the weekends can be so long and boring by yourself. It is great to have something to do on saturdays. We usually go to church and sunday school on Sundays. So, we really are trying to keep busy and play with our friends often. The weather is starting to cool off and I can't wait for Fall. Now I have to start thinking about what Elizabeth will be for Halloween! I think Nathan wants her to be a Monkey, he thinks it is perfect for her. :) What does everyone think about that?

A few videos of Elizabeth!

Here are a few videos of Elizabeth lately.  She surprised me one day and started counting in Spanish...I was shocked.  She watches Dora the Explorer in the mornings when she drinks her milk, and I could not believe she picked that up.  There is also a cute video of her saying her animal sounds.

Child's Day Out

Elizabeth went to her first day of Child's Day Out today.  I have to drop her off at 9 a.m. and do not pick her up until 1 p.m, every Monday and Wednesday.  I was so worried about how I was going to spend that time, but that was not a problem :)  I know several other kids that go, and had heard a lot of great things about this place.  Elizabeth's friend, Samantha, is in her class, and I think that made it much easier for the both of them.  They take the kids to a music class, and a gym class.  When they are in their own classroom they do bible stories, songs, and have lunch.  I think Elizabeth had such a great time, and I am happy that I finally decided to sign her up.  It was a hard decision, but I know that it was a good one.

"hmmm, is that my school?"
"I am excited!"

"C'mon Mommy, let's go!"
