It's all been happening

Where do the months go? No really, how is it that I find myself sat here almost 6 months since my last blog?
Life has been busy, filled with all sorts to be honest. I'll lay it all out on bullet point lest I find myself forgetting milestones and important stuff.

  • Oliver is almost 19 months. Can you believe it? That little boy has grown into a fully fledges toddler. Along with such comes the temper. The boy can throw a paddy like no other. Thankfully I've yet to see this occur in public but it's only a matter of time. I recall an ad for Vicks nasal spray a few years back. It happens I know and it'll happen to me just you wait.
  • He has been the picture of good health.. until this past week when the dreaded gastro bug appeared. The boy was beside himself. Husband struggles with vomit so was making himself scarce a little too often for my liking but heck, I'll clean every drop of toddle vomit if it means I don't have to clean up adult vomit too.
  • Speech is a key milestone right now. Favourites are: "Ta" which I am very proud of him for learning so rapidly. He says it to everyone who hands him anything, along withpointing at the fridge when he wants cheese. "UH-OH", "Oh no!", "Mama" & "Daddy" along with various small attempts at everyday words. He often says "What's this?" but it comes out as "sissss?"
  • He is still in small clothes thanks to his petiteness. He stands no chance of growing beyond 5ft 5" thanks to his genetic make up but it means I save money in the long run. A good friend has a little girl 2 weeks older than Oliver who is stretching some 2-3 yr clothing. I believe they're taking out a second mortgage to clothe here over the Summer.
  • He still attend Nursery once a week. It is for the social interaction (but I don't complain at having 6 hours to myself on a Friday). He moves up to the next class in a few months and I'm nervous as he has a good strong bond with the ladies in the "Tiddlers" room. However there are friends of his (that he plays with other days of the week) that are going along with him so that's reassuring.
  • Feeding is good. He is on a bottle of milk each evening at bed time. 4oz if he's thirsty but it is a routine we like and he isn't complaining so I'm in no hurry to take it from him. His love of food is vast. He'll eat most things but we are struggling with vegetables. No flies on him, he'll spot them even in their smallest form.

As for me, well I have a job. 4 hours 5 evenings a week which has been really useful with Husbands shifts as this way we need no childcare. A huge bonus for our bank accounts. I like the job. It's not exactly challenging as such but it gets me out of the house and within adult conversations each night so I'm happy and it gives Husband a few hours to himself once Oliver has retreated to his bed so it's a win win all round really. If they offer me more working hours I'll bite their hand off but for now we are ticking over.

I have officially joined the dieters bandwagon. I joined W.eight W.atchers in November. It was a friend taking me to a meeting that made me realise I can do it. For years I had dismissed WW as another gimmicky way of shelling out no end of £££'s. However, I have stuck with it and although I have a mammoth amount to lose (5 uk stone - 36kilos) I am determined and this far I have shifted 24 lbs (UK.. I'm aware there is a difference to US lbs). Quite a target isn't it?! I aim to lose this by Christmas 2012.

Well, I'll sign off for now.. so much to mention but there is a big basket of ironing with my name on it.

How are you and what have you been up to lately?
