Working at Home

Friday I had to work from home because Todd was still in DC. I was in working on my computer and in walked this sweet little princess. I love this little munchkin. The other kids were all at school and she was just happy to get to play without anyone bothering her. She sure does loves her princess outfits.

Birthday Recap

So far this birthday has been one of the best! I'm not sure how it can be better next year when I hit the big 40. On Sunday we celebrated with Todd and my family. I opened presents and had peaches with homemade ice cream (my favorite treat). Jeannie and Trent even bought me fake blood for my windows this Halloween - AWESOME!

I have been taken out to lunch everyday so far this week: Monday - Heidi. Tuesday & Wednesday work friends and today I'm going with my old college roommate. I love lunch dates.

Last night Timmy arranged an entire night out. We went to dinner at PF Changs with Heidi, Christine, David and Kami. Then shopped a bit at Nordies and had Cold Stone to top it off. So fun. Steve watched all the kids for us and was amazing with them doing projects, painting, making popcorn & watching princess movies. My kids did not want to come home with me. Steve told me the funniest story he said that the doorbell rang and when they answered it there was Sophie standing there with her sippy cup. She wanted some juice and needed her sippy cup so she went home by herself grabbed it and headed back to Steve's house. That girl is a little too independent!!

Tonight I'm going out with my friends for frozen yogurt and a late night movie. There will be a lot of laughs and good times as there always are when we get together. I'm so excited!

My phone, email and facebook wall were flooded with messages and I honestly feel so loved. I have the best family & friends ever. Thanks everyone for so much fun and sweet messages!

The School Carnival

The school carnival got rained out and moved to Sept 20th - of all days it had to be on my birthday. Oh well. I packed up the kids and headed over. Luke and Tayson wanted Jeannie's boys to come so they met us there and Christine was already there with Allen & Ryan. I only lost Sophie 3 times the whole night (and really she wasn't lost she was just off on her own in the bounce houses), misplaced one pair of shoes (Sophie's of course the first time she was "lost"), spent $60 on bounce house fun and nasty food, and had 4 very tired, sticky, happy kids by the end of the night. I think overall the cotton candy was the favorite of the night.

Birthday Balloons

I got to teach spin at 5:30 am today on my birthday. When I showed up at the gym my bike was decorated with balloons. I love that Traci got up early to do that for me. It was such a fun way to start my day. And now that I taught spin and lifted weights already bring on the birthday cake!

Mary Poppins

Todd, Tayson, Heidi, Lexie and I all went to see Mary Poppins at Capitol Theater. What a great show and what a fun double date. Since Chris is serving our country in Afghanistan Todd got to be both of our dates. Heidi was up at the Xango convention so she met us there after dinner. It was fun taking Tayson and Lexie out all dressed up. Tayson loved the theater (yippee!!) and he did a great job sitting still and not talking. I am all about my kids growing up cultured - well I guess I don't care about that as much as having them enjoy the things in life that I enjoy. My favorite number was Step in Time because it was a full tap number and I LOVE tap!!

My goodness he is growing up. Sometimes when I see pictures like this of Tays it makes me realize how old he is getting. UGH. I love that he's old enough to have fun with us and to help out but I can't believe my baby is getting so dang big!!

The Dirty Dash

In January I registered for this race within minutes of it opening (as you can see from our numbers) then I didn't really think much about it until a few weeks ago. I've never done a race anything like this one. It was a 10K (6.2 miles) of pure fun. We ran around in dirt, grass & mud. Up and down hills. We went over hay bails & walls, under tubes, through tunnels, through tires, climbed a rope wall, swung on a rope, walked in waist deep water, down a slip-n-slide and finished in mud pits.

Me, Traci & Jill before the race

The starting line

Traci and I coming over the walls

The last wall done - I got stuck up to my knee

Traci flung mud on my face - and my hands were too dirty to wipe it off

Coming down the slip-n-slide

Coming into the finish

We canon balled into the water (quite a splash I made)

And we're done!

I had so much fun doing this race. I'm in for sure next year. Bring on the mud!!

School Picture Day

Today was school picture day. I love putting new pictures on my wall at home and at work on my desk. Yesterday I wasn't happy with Sophie's crazy hair so after her bath last night right before bed I pulled out the scissors and started cutting. I cut more off than I was planning on but I am so happy with how cute it is on her. I love her curls - and it makes her hair more forgiving since I'm in no way a hair stylist. I added a few more curls with the curling iron today but she didn't really need it. (I didn't have time to get a picture of all 4 kids together because we were way rushed this morning)

p.s. I love that the girls have on their backpacks. I took Sophie to the school before it started to get her picture taken and both girls put on their backpacks just because they love them.

New addition to the bedroom

Because of the great sales on tv's and the fact that I'm way behind on all my shows Todd decided to buy me one for the bedroom. No more excuses on not watching my shows. Todd said he has lots of shows for me to watch so we can talk about them. We spent half the day Saturday cleaning out the closet so we could put everything on the shelf in there - I love having a clean, organized closet and the tv has been fun. I've only watched 2 shows so far though. I'd still rather lay in bed reading a book :)

Nu Skin Summer Party

This year our summer party was at Lagoon. Sadly Todd wasn't home for it. But instead of trying to take my 4 kids by myself I used my extra tickets and brought 2 of my awesome beehives with me. They got to do service and help me while having a blast at Lagoon. It was a win-win situation. We had a blast and the kids were great.

Sophie was in heaven!! She wanted to ride every ride and would get upset when she wasn't tall enough. She loved any ride she can do alone. She rubbed her green hand stamp on her face in 2 places and spilled her dinner on her skirt and jumped in several puddles and was a complete mess but happy as could be.

Luke's Homework

Due to the fun weekend we were a bit behind in school. On Tuesday Luke told me he was late on his "Celebrate Me" poster for school. That night we sat down at the computer to print out pictures for his poster and during that time Sophie colored, taped and cut up his posterboard. Luke was SO UPSET. I left the kids with Timmy and Luke and I made a quick trip to Wal-Mart to buy a new poster so he could do his homework. Needless to say it was a late night of homework for us.

Another Elder Schultz

It's official we have another Elder Schultz in the family. Kelly's setting apart was absolutely amazing. The spirit was so strong and I am so grateful that we made the trip to be with him and the family on such a special day. I love seeing the next generation making such great decisions and I am so grateful to have Kelly setting the bar for my kids and being a great example to them.

George & Ginger have such a beautiful family

The proud parents

Those are some good lookin' kids

I love this picture of George & Ginger

Obviously my kids were hit with the spirit - they were so reverent!

The weekend was so much fun! I know I've already said it but I am so glad we packed up the kids and made the trip. I love spending time with my family. I love that my nieces and nephews are such great examples to my kids. I love being with my brothers and sisters and all my awesome in-laws. Love love love it!!

A learning experience

George thought it would be great if the "city" kids got to experience life on the farm. I mean when else would they have a chance to see goats get castrated???? I'll admit I was a bit intrigued by the whole thing. I haven't ever been apart of farm life and I was very interested to see what my boys would say or think. Sadly, they were fine and watched then left to play. Didn't say or do anything crazy at all. I guess my boys could move to a farm and be A-OK.

Me on the other hand - I think I'll stick to being a "city girl"

Lucky for the 2 cows they had already been taken care of by wahoever had them before George

Once the fun was over Todd picked on up and threw it at Trent in attempt to play a real game of ball tag. Trent used me as a human shield for a while then just ran. Everyone else left quickly except Cody he got a good throw in then took off. Boys are so crazy!!

Dinner and a Birthday

Ginger made an amazing spread of Mexican food for dinner.

Sunday was Audrey's 8th birthday so Sherry set up a surprise party for her with all of us there.

Then as Sherry was cutting and serving the cake Trent asked her if he could have the orange balloon then he shoved it in her face. Trent it the most daring person I know - I would never dare to do something like that to Sherry. She handled it with a great sense of humor.
