Kendyl Elizabeth Fleming
December 1, 2010
7 lbs. 2 oz 19 inches

Well, this was my longest pregnancy ever!  I was getting very discouraged.  I was not progressing as I had with the last 2 kids.  We were totally expecting to have her Thanksgiving weekend but she wasn't cooperating with mommy's plans!  I went to my doctor appointment on Tuesday, Nov. 30th and was dialated to a 3.  I asked her to strip my membranes to see if we could get something going.  It really didn't do anything. I had a few cramps that night but that's it.  The doctor set us up with an induction date of Friday, December 3rd.  We were supposed to get to the hospital at 8am that morning.  So I made all the arrangements for the kids.  I had told Steve that it would take a miracle to get her here before Friday!  I was so bummed because I had never made it to 39 weeks and that was only 2 days away, and I really wanted to go into labor on my own this time.  However, I was lucky!  I woke up at 3:30 am Wednesday morning with cramps.  But that had happened before.  No big deal.  I was having braxton hicks, again, no big deal.  But at 5 am I started getting a few contractions 20 minutes apart.  I kept praying "please let this be real, if not let me go back to sleep."  At 6 am the contractions were 9 minutes then 6 minutes, then 4 minutes.  At 7 am I finally called Steve at work.  I still wasn't sure if this would keep up.  I didn't want to drive 40 minutes to the hospital and tell me to go home.  So we decided I would wait a little longer and see what happened in the next little bit.  But once I got up from my chair a big contraction hit and I knew it was real!  So I called Steve right back and told him he needed to come home.  I called our sitter and she was surprised I needed her now, not Friday.  So we got ready to leave.  By this time the contractions were 2 minutes apart and getting stronger.  We got to the hospital at 8:30 am and I was 6 cm.  My doctor was doing a C- section and would check on me and get my epidural once they were done.  They told me she should get there about 9:30.  But they didn't get to me until 10am.  My contractions were getting pretty bad by then.  I was afraid by the time the anesthesiologist got to me it would be to late!  The doctor checked me and I was an 8.  So I was able to get the epidural.  Yeah!  The doctor made it back at about 12:30 or so to break my water, and I was still breathing through contractions.  So she had to hurry after breaking my water to get changed since I was a 10.  I was really ready to have this baby!  I only pushed for 3 sets but the cord was wrapped around her neck.  The doctor told me to stop pushing, I tried!  Luckily, it was only around once and I couldn't stop for long, but the doctor had it off and it was loose, thank goodness!  She was born at 12:38 pm.  The doctor and nurses were a little worried because she wasn't really crying.  She only cried like 3 times.  The nurse was rubbing her with the blanket on my tummy trying to get her to cry.  She was just so mellow.  But she seemed to be ok.  She was getting pink.  She weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz and was 19 inches.  We were expecting her to be about 6 lbs 9 oz or so.  We all were making guesses as to how much she would be.  Doctor Tomita guessed 6 lbs. 12 oz, I guessed 6 lbs. 9oz., but the nurse said 7 lbs 3 oz.  She was close!  Mom and baby were doing well.  I only had a 2 degree tear this time, yippee!  She wasn't nursing very well and she lost 6 oz. overnight.  But she started eating late that night so that was good.  The kids were all excited to meet their sister and mommy was so happy to have her here safely!

Our proud family!

One proud daddy!

Getting ready to go home.

First time in bouncer, the night we came home.

2 days old

My friend Erin made her this cute hat.  It's a little too small but so cute!

First time in swing.

Grandma and Kendyl.

This is the same outfit Macady wore home.  Kendyl has longer arms so it doesn't fit as well!  It's so great how kids are so different.

What a beautiful family we have!  I am so glad our family is now complete.

We couldn't get a picture of her in the car seat when we got home from the hospital since she was screaming so this is when she is 5 days old, home from the doctor appointmemt.  She had gained 3 oz. and was up to 6 lbs. 15 oz.

She sleeps so soundly and looks so adorable!

Kedrick is 5 years old!  Happy Birthday!

Aaahh, the Christmas season has begun early for our family.  We were expecting to have little Kendyl over Thanksgiving weekend so we decided to put up our tree a week early.  My parents give each kid a hallmark ornament every year so that when they leave home they will have a good start for their own trees.  So, every year we sort the boxes and each kid has a pile to put on the tree.

Miss Macady was so excited for the ornaments but was discouraged when every time I would get one out it went to a brother.  She only had one to put on the tree, but was excited for it!

Putting her ornament on the tree.

This is the only picture I have of my belly before Kendyl was born.  She had grown a bit the last few weeks.

Tanner building a great big snowman!

Branson got his Bobcat!  The cubmaster painted his face as part of that.
Macady is 22 months old today!

Yea!  It's party time!  We have Branson as Superman, Tanner as Batman, Caden as a Ninja, Macady as a Ladybug, and Kedrick as Buzz Lightyear.

What a cute little lady bug!

Macady wasn't so sure about all the chaos of the games but she did let Sis. McLaughlin help her with the fishing game.

Kedrick looking fine!

She was so cute on the trunk or treat!  Once she realized people were giving her candy she was determined to get to every car.  She didn't even want to wait for mommy!  She just walked up, held out her pumpkin then was off to the next car!

GO Caden!
