Christmas In Perth

Here in Perth, it is a very big deal to decorate your house for Christmas. They are even entered into a competition to see who's got the best decorations. So when I read about this in the newspapers, I knew we had to go see this. And because all these houses are in this competition, their addresses were also printed in the papers. Wonderful!

We only managed to cover 3 suburbs. There are like maybe 20 more to go. Only 5 more days till Christmas...we gotta get all these photos!

Sin in a Cup

Thanks to Nigella and Sarah, I learnt how to make this sinful little thing in a cup. It's easy to make and it's delicious!

Here's the recipe. They're called Chocohotopots.

Melt :
3/4 cup dark chocolate
125gms butter

Whisk :
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
3 tbl plain flour

Fold the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.
Pre-heat oven to 200deg and bake for 20mins.
Remove from oven when done and to top it all off, a big scoop of vanilla ice cream! Yummy!

Andre's New Club

Poor boy lost his role as Treasurer in ICMC when we had to move to Perth. Had to give up his nice leather vest and store that vest in some cupboard in Hougang Ave 3. Didn't have a groupie to hang out with anymore...sob sob...

But whaddayanoe...he's found another groupie downunder. This club is quite a big club. And the guys here wear it proudly. Any Tom, Dick or Harry can join this club. No funny call signs, just a simple "Hello, how're you?" will surfice...tee hee...

I Got My Licence AGAIN!

Cost me only A$65 to get one. LOL! Sounds so illegal. But seriously, everything cost me only A$65. No test needed and they mail it to you in like 5 working days. Simple!
(sigh....what a lousy photo taken though)

Meagan Tan

I'd like to introduce the latest edition to the Tan Family, my niece Meagan Tan. Ha! only 2 days old and already a poser! tee hee..

Oh and if you're wondering....the spelling IS correct. Apparently, her mother found out the actual correct spelling of her name. I guess through the years, people slacked and re-spelt it as "Megan".

Whose Chubby Finger Made the Mistake?

Dre asked Zac to select 4 numbers on his PDA. Dre got a 4D paper, coloured the number and passed it me while I was in the queue.

Now I'm wondering whose chubby finger made the mistake...sigh....25Gs just flew away.......(yet a bigger sigh)

You Know When You're Getting Old

For whatever reason, Dre decided we will go to Balaclava on Friday night. I guess in a way it was to catch up with some of the boys. After 2 buckets of Tuborg, we headed down to MOS.

No longer is it when the queue was all the way till the main road of Clarke Quay, getting in just took 5mins. To think we almost paid $388 to be members!!

The music at the Members' Lounge was horrid! (techno crap!) luckily the company was good! So while the boys were doing Decky a favour, it seems they were all losing in the 5-10 finger game....lol!

By 1am, Dre and I gave in to our yawns. We said our "byes" and left for home! We struggled to wake up the next morning. As for Dre, he woke up to have lunch and went back to sleep, waking up again at 5pm.

Sigh...what happened to the days when we could party till 3am, have supper, go home and repeat the same thing till the weekend was over!

Thanks for a funny and intoxicating night guys!

So Close Yet So Far

Ok...first I have to admit that my understanding of Bahasa Melayu is average. And I guess reading the language is out of the question (so this blog will only prove!).

We passed this signboard on our way to Desaru and I immediately told the rest "eh...they actually have a Catholic school here". I just thought maybe the Malay spelling for "SAINTS" is "SAINS"...spelt without the T.

Andre immediately laughs and shouts "eh Mungkok!... the sign reads SCHOOL OF SCIENCE la"!

LOL....oh well...

The "Be A Man" Getaway

Mups and Dre decided we should all go for a quick getaway and that G & I had no say about it. It was their "We're Being A Man" decision...tee hee....So off we went to Desaru!

Met at Lagoon View to exchange cars with Dad. It was about 9plus in the morning. Even Mum said we don't wake up this early on normal days. We had breakfast at Kiliney Kopi Tiam, pumped petrol, bought a bottle of water and we were off!

We took the Second Link and it was smooth sailing all the way there. And as usual, G will always be sleeping during road trips....nothing new....lol!
The hotel wasn't up to our expectations but the pool and the beach made up for that. We changed into gear and hit the pool! The boys immediately ordered the beers and of course us girls ordered the food! The pool was empty and the water was fantastic! Aahhh...as Josh said....if only we could do this 5 days a week and work the remaining 2 days....sigh...
It was off to do some jet-skiing after that. Never jet-ski-ed before and I loved it! No rules, no traffic, just us and that big ocean! Wanted to go go-karting but unfortunately there were only 2 go-karts available so forget it. Went back to the rooms, showered (maybe some other extra activity), changed and headed back to the pool side for a BBQ buffet. We ate till there was no space left and of course the last woman standing...me!

After our scrumptous dinner, we decided to walk it off at the beach. It was a full moon and the night was beautiful.

After which it was to the karaoke lounge to embarrass ourselves. Thank goodness there was nobody there. It closed at 12.30am and we hit the sack. Aahhh...what an eventful day it was.

Just like all the other typical singaporeans, we were up bright and early to have breakfast. I totally forgot we were in Malaysia. I was actually looking forward to bacon and eggs but ended up with prata and bombay toast. Ok lar...beggars can't be choosers.

We swam for abit at the pool and the beach, afterwhich we tried our luck at the go-karts again. Still no luck...only 3 go-karts. So we showered and decided to go do some exploring. We headed down to the town of Sungei Ringgit. Being Sunday, most of the shops were closed. But somehow we still managed to find a coffeeshop that was opened and we had our seafood lunch which Mups treated us. Thanks again Mups!Thankfully some shops were opened so we had somewhere to walk around after lunch. I was on a hunt....a hunt for the "ABC Sweet Sauce" which somehow is not selling in Singapore anymore. Well, I guess they stopped selling it Sungei Ringgit also...:(

That evening, after insisting we NOT eat in the hotel itself, we headed out the all famous Sengat Seafood Restaurant. It was quite a distance from the hotel but it was worth the trip! For under RM$250, we had a feast! Butter lobster, chilli crab, drunken prawns, steamed fish, fried baby squid, sambal kangkong, sambal mussels, man-tou and fried egg (specially for Mups). And for the first time in a long time, we actually had leftovers which we packed of course.

We headed back soon after and we lazed around in Mups & G's room. The boys bought beers but were too full and tired to drink them and you could tell they were really tired coz Mups fell asleep halfway through his sentence! That's right....mid-sentence!!! It was really funny...all 3 of us were waiting for his response and watching him fall asleep. LOL!

Waking up Monday morning was not so exciting anymore. We weren't looking forward to going back. Breakfast was quick as we went back to the rooms to pack. All in all, it was a good weekend...:)

On our drive home, everyone was grumbling about how fast time flew when Mups asked "eh..how? dinner in Malacca?" and just so happens we were at the section where left is home and right is to Malacca. Dre surprised us by turning right! Well...we did want to stretch whatever time we had left.

Going at 140km/h, we got to Malacca town like in 2hrs. We changed more money and G and I set out on more retail therapy. Dinner time and we headed out to look for the Malacca Pier Restaurant to eat "Lok-Lok". We drove round twice and finally decided to ask a security guard for directions. He gave us a strange look and said for the 2years that he's been there, he never knew there was such a restaurant.

So we settled for Ba Kut Teh which shockingly Mups pretty much enjoyed! He even tried the Pigs Trotters in Vinegar!! Well...that's it! We went straight home after that. No more time...no more detours.

It's been a wonderful weekend with my sweet husband and our good friends! Oh and if I do forget....Mups...thanks again for changing the radio channel and G.....thanks for farting and keeping quiet about it while the windows were up!

We Learn Something New Everyday

Finally made it down to the new Sedap Corner (if you need to read more about it....here's the link http://gsharkbait.blogspot.com/2007/10/sedap.html).

I must say the place is really a cool place to hang out. They have a smoking corner right at the back but the staff check in on us regularly. And the waiter....a very polite one!

Dre and I already had dinner but as usual G over orders..like what's new right? The appetizer was good! I loved that they had the different sauces. (actually HAD to post this pic coz G said I will...lol)

Wasn't too happy with my drink tho...you half expect these places to have the good ol' Teh Tarik seeing how they are all in the Simpang Bedok area. But NO! I asked for that and they brought me Lipton Earl Grey Tea....what la!

Luckily G felt the need for banana crepe (btw...it's called Banana Tissue...coz if you say Banana Crepe, they'll tell you "noo...dont have...dont have") so we adjourned to Spize and I had my Teh Tarik! But totally regretted it after that seeing how I could only fall asleep at like 5 in the freaking morning!

About learning something new, Andrina joined us last night also. So it's really amazing how we're all abt the same age (not counting the one that's only 29!) but the difference in the words we use. I guess both Andrina and I learnt alot from each other last night. Like if you want to know where a cigar is made, you don't ask "Where's it made?" but "Where was it rolled?" Farnie lar...like I'm going to ask you where your cigarettes were rolled! ha!

Then coz we're always wanting to go for a spin in Ban Huat's Porche (ya...like G's dad will be driving one now...Andrina's hubby is also called BAN HUAT) so I asked here if BH always has a need for speed and that I'm pretty sure people are always "smelling his smoke". Then suddenly this huge question mark pops up on her forehead and we had to explain what "smelling smoke" means. So she says "oh in that case...I'll go ask BH if I can smell his smoke" We all burst out laughing loudly....even the MaMa fella commented that we were so happy!

Hiaz...so cute lar. Then I also learnt that cigars are not kept in drawers but in Humidors. And inside the Humidor, there's a thermometer to keep the temperature in check and a bottle of special water (cigar Holy Water maybe) to keep the cigars fresh. To read more..go to http://gsharkbait.blogspot.com/2007/10/our-little-own-mind-your-language.html

All in all, the outing was good. Will be seeing BH and Andrina again tomorrow at the Salsa Festival at downtown east. Conversation wise should be fun!

Shiver Me Addiction!

You can always tell when someone is addicted to something.

I guess Facebook (FB) has been around for awhile. I only gave in when I moved Downunder. It's just another reminder how boring that place is.

So anyway, I really thought I was the "Free" one. Seeing how I have absolutely nothing to do now that I'm back in Singapore and I have my folks to look after Zac. I should be the envy of all right? WRONG! Here's a pic to show all of you who is the REAL "free" one. Dunno whether it's addiction or too free!

So I started playing Pirates on FB like 2weeks ago....but Cap'n G only started last Friday!! What's up with that?! Level 197!!!

You Have To Fall In Love With The Dancing

If only us women could marry the guy that can literally sweep us off our feet....sigh...how romantic that would be.
You have to watch these video clips and then you'll know what I mean.....sigh....

For Josh.....To Rub It In

Need I explain more......:)

Why Own Something When You Don't Know How To Use It

This is to the bitch in the H****....please read the title repeatedly.

It was an innocent evening drive home after having coffee with G, Mups & Dre. I drove the Chevy while Dre rode his bike home.

As I stopped at the traffic lights, I looked to my left and there she was...giving me the look of "so you think you're fast?" Man! Did she pick the wrong person! The lights changed and I floored the Chevy.

All I can say to you is........1. Don't drive a car you can't handle....you insult the brand thru and thru. 2. Don't you know you should never race with the aircon on unless it's some sports car?...like duh-uh! and finally.......3. Here's to you smelling Chevy smoke!

No Pain...No Gain....

Here's how it's done :

  1. Most waxings occur in a private room with a door. I have heard of some with just a curtain between you and others. You remove your pants & underwear & lie on a table with clean paper or sheets. It is possible that you could be provided with a paper thong, but chances are... you won't.
  2. Because you only need about a quarter-inch of hair for the wax to grab onto, your waxer will start by trimming your pubic hair to the right length.
  3. The best waxers are fast, which means less discomfort for you. The waxer will dip a waxing stick into a pot of hot wax & then spread it onto your skin & hair. She will then apply a cloth strip over the still-warm wax, pressing firmly so the cloth, hair and wax adhere to one another. When the wax has cooled, she will pull the strip off, in the opposite direction of your hair growth, pulling the hairs out by the root.
  4. Most likely, your waxer will tweeze any stray hairs.
  5. Waxing usually starts in the front & moves toward the back. You'll likely have to move around in all sorts of odd positions in order for the waxer to do her job....which could mean you mooning your waxer.....lol
  6. Once the waxing is over, the waxer will spread soothing lotion over the waxed areas. You should ask what to do in case of bumps, redness or ingrown hairs. Your waxer should be trained in this.
  7. Don't forget to get the name of the waxer so when you make another appointment you can get the same person so you don't have to bare all for another complete stranger (wink).

Anyone wanna guess? :P

Finally! A Song With Meaning

Dear Mr. President, come take a walk with me
(Take a walk with me)
Let's pretend we're just two people and you're not better than me
I'd like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly

What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street?
Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep?
What do you feel when you look in the mirror? Are you proud?

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye? And tell me why?

Dear Mr. President, were you a lonely boy?
(Were you a lonely boy?)
Are you a lonely boy?
(Are you a lonely boy?)

How can you say, no child is left behind?
We're not dumb, and we're not blind
(We're not blind)
They're all sitting in your cells while you pave the road to hell

What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye?

Let me tell 'bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell 'bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away

Let me tell 'bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box
Let me tell 'bout hard work, hard work, hard work
You don't know nothing about hard work, hard work, hard work

How do you sleep at night?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Dear Mr. President, you never take a walk with me, would you?

So to all you Ps......start behaving like one.

My New Toy

All I needed was an MP3 player to listen to my music while I go for my walks & jogs and I walked out of the shop with a cool MP4 player!

Thanks to my sweet husband, now I can even watch my TV series while on the bus!

They Will Only Bother to Remember the Senseless Stuff

But ask them what song was played on their wedding day and their reply would be...." luurrvee you!!!"

So that's not my point here...the above is a fact anyways...:)

I'm shocked that Mups & Dre could actually remember this stupid idiom from God knows when. It goes like this.......

There once was a man from Madras
Who's balls were made from brass
When in a stormy weather
His balls would rub together
And sparks came out from his arse!!

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

Decided to Move to This Blog Site B'coz.....

photos can be attached and it wont be the size of a 50c coin but rather the size of a folded $100 note. actually i have to thank G for this. Thanks G!!! after reading your blog day in day out, i kinda like how your layout is. i couldnt figure out how to get a pic in the middle of my blog, kept wondering how yours could, so finally got fed up and decided to migrate.

sigh...but then again...cant have my cake and eat it. so for my photo album, i guess i still have to keep the msn space coz i cant put in loads and loads of photos for for family and friends to see.
