Mups and Dre decided we should all go for a quick getaway and that G & I had no say about it. It was their "We're Being A Man" decision...tee hee....So off we went to Desaru!
Met at Lagoon View to exchange cars with Dad. It was about 9plus in the morning. Even Mum said we don't wake up this early on normal days. We had breakfast at Kiliney Kopi Tiam, pumped petrol, bought a bottle of water and we were off!
We took the Second Link and it was smooth sailing all the way there. And as usual, G will always be sleeping during road trips....nothing new....lol!
The hotel wasn't up to our expectations but the pool and the beach made up for that. We changed into gear and hit the pool! The boys immediately ordered the beers and of course us girls ordered the food! The pool was empty and the water was fantastic! Aahhh...as Josh said....if only we could do this 5 days a week and work the remaining 2 days....sigh...
It was off to do some jet-skiing after that. Never jet-ski-ed before and I loved it! No rules, no traffic, just us and that big ocean! Wanted to go go-karting but unfortunately there were only 2 go-karts available so forget it. Went back to the rooms, showered (maybe some other extra activity), changed and headed back to the pool side for a BBQ buffet. We ate till there was no space left and of course the last woman standing...me!
After our scrumptous dinner, we decided to walk it off at the beach. It was a full moon and the night was beautiful.
After which it was to the karaoke lounge to embarrass ourselves. Thank goodness there was nobody there. It closed at 12.30am and we hit the sack. Aahhh...what an eventful day it was.
Just like all the other typical singaporeans, we were up bright and early to have breakfast. I totally forgot we were in Malaysia. I was actually looking forward to bacon and eggs but ended up with prata and bombay toast. Ok lar...beggars can't be choosers.
We swam for abit at the pool and the beach, afterwhich we tried our luck at the go-karts again. Still no luck...only 3 go-karts. So we showered and decided to go do some exploring. We headed down to the town of Sungei Ringgit. Being Sunday, most of the shops were closed. But somehow we still managed to find a coffeeshop that was opened and we had our seafood lunch which Mups treated us. Thanks again Mups!
Thankfully some shops were opened so we had somewhere to walk around after lunch. I was on a hunt....a hunt for the "ABC Sweet Sauce" which somehow is not selling in Singapore anymore. Well, I guess they stopped selling it Sungei Ringgit also...:(
That evening, after insisting we NOT eat in the hotel itself, we headed out the all famous Sengat Seafood Restaurant. It was quite a distance from the hotel but it was worth the trip! For under RM$250, we had a feast! Butter lobster, chilli crab, drunken prawns, steamed fish, fried baby squid, sambal kangkong, sambal mussels, man-tou and fried egg (specially for Mups). And for the first time in a long time, we actually had leftovers which we packed of course.

We headed back soon after and we lazed around in Mups & G's room. The boys bought beers but were too full and tired to drink them and you could tell they were really tired coz Mups fell asleep halfway through his sentence! That's right....mid-sentence!!! It was really funny...all 3 of us were waiting for his response and watching him fall asleep. LOL!
Waking up Monday morning was not so exciting anymore. We weren't looking forward to going back. Breakfast was quick as we went back to the rooms to pack. All in all, it was a good weekend...:)
On our drive home, everyone was grumbling about how fast time flew when Mups asked "eh..how? dinner in Malacca?" and just so happens we were at the section where left is home and right is to Malacca. Dre surprised us by turning right! Well...we did want to stretch whatever time we had left.
Going at 140km/h, we got to Malacca town like in 2hrs. We changed more money and G and I set out on more retail therapy. Dinner time and we headed out to look for the Malacca Pier Restaurant to eat "Lok-Lok". We drove round twice and finally decided to ask a security guard for directions. He gave us a strange look and said for the 2years that he's been there, he never knew there was such a restaurant.
So we settled for Ba Kut Teh which shockingly Mups pretty much enjoyed! He even tried the Pigs Trotters in Vinegar!! Well...that's it! We went straight home after that. No more time...no more detours.
It's been a wonderful weekend with my sweet husband and our good friends! Oh and if I do forget....Mups...thanks again for changing the radio channel and G.....thanks for farting and keeping quiet about it while the windows were up!
