♥Girls Camp♥

Man where do I start! I LOVE GIRLS CAMP!!!! The night before girls camp feeling frustrated over somethings and not wanting to go :( I was crying and expressing how I felt-with everything done except enjoying actual camp Dave turned to me and said, "You are going! Who cares about all that, the girls need you, your daughter need you, reap what you sowed" So after praying about it I knew it was the right thing to do.

Day 1: Hike and Set up, Safari hunt

Our hike was so hard, it was up waterfall canyon. It was beautiful and so worth it. What silly girls! This is what I had to deal with for a week and I loved it :)The Jr Leaders randomly would have a thing happen to them and would need first aid. It took a while for the girls to realize Morgan was choking-it didn't help that I was laughing and taking pictures.Dave, Malulani, Me at Waterfall Canyon! Dave was a huge support. He drove the truck and trailer to the camp and then pick us up and all our gear. ♥ Then we headed to Dylans for some ice cream and to cool down.

I am skipping over unloading and set up because it's not worth it. On to our Safari Hunt was a marshmallow gun fight. There was some gaining up on none other than me and I didn't have a gun. I improvised and used my mouth to shot them! Good times :P

Some of my madness was forced on them. We performed "stupid human trick" Here is Alex stuffing 85 mini marshmallows in her mouth-now that's talent. From weird sounds to unnatural thing with their bodies we went around performing these tricks. Even the leaders :D

Day 2: Crafting, Certification, River, Skits, Star gazing
Craft time! Anyone that knows me, knows that I love crafts so we did a few!
Then off we went to cool off...in the FREEZING COLD river. I did go down a few times, but after getting flipped over twice and getting dragged because I couldn't let go of Whitney, I gave up.
Is that short I'm wearing? Trying to dry off while trying to work on somethings! The girls were so easy-going and they didn't care about how they looked (obviously)The girls only had about an hour to come up with a skit and they did an amazing job! This was funny, but NOT!Since there were only a few leaders we roped in the RS sisters that were visiting us to help us with our skit. I don't know about you but Susan played her part well!

Star gazing on of the grounds keeper had this huge telescope. We were able to see Venus and so many of the different consolations. Anyone use to do one of these-where you all lean back on each other in a circle?

Day 3: Blind walk,Certification, Testimony meeting

This is our spiritual day. We first blindfolded the girls and took them one by one across the iron rod. With a few helpers they either helped them to stay on the path or steered them away.

There was a handful of girls that let go. I was baling when I saw my daughter let go. There was not a dry eye. The girls got letters from home and went off by themselves to read and write back to their parents.

The girls had a few breaks and this is how they spent it!Yummy dutch oven enchiladas. We did not go hungry. The girls hardly had to do much cooking. We had great leaders that was willing to do it for them.
There was some special bonds made at girl's camp. Ashlie from the get-go claimed Alex as her BBF! We died laughing we she sat on Alex and pretended she was santa. Then she randomly told Alex, "Your not my BBF anymore"
After a wonderful dinner we had our testimony meeting and I cried and cried, and cried! These girls are all amazing individuals. They are such an example to me. I am so excited for my daughter to be around them.
After the testimonies we sang and played. This is Whitney's favorite....Chicka Chicka
These are some of my favorite pictures that I had to share-
The BOOTS these boots were on Courtney's feet the whole time-she even hiked in them!
I couldn't have done it without the support and help from everyone. I absolutely love the girls and I hope I get to keep on being the camp director!

Making a vacation out of our roadtrips

Life has been so crazy lately but we extended our road trips. Our trip to St. George we decided to travel a little further and stay in Mesquite, NV cheap fun (hehehe) Get your mind out of the gutter this is a family trip.
Malulani HAD to take a picture next to a cactus-this is the best we could do. We were only traveling 65 mph on the freeway when we hit the brakes. No big deal!
The kids wanted to play at the park (as if we don't have parks at home) and swim, and swim, and swim! But who blames them it was 106 pretty much the whole time! Maile actually swam and swamMy cute nephew (aka water baby) and my little bro

On the way back we stopped to see my Grandma. Maile love Grandma Dean but from far away so this is huge :)

I {Heart} Grandma Dean ♥

My Grandma Dean is not in the best health and so she was unable to attend her daughters funeral. My Grandma is one of my hero's! She has out lived two of her children and her husband (not that I want to-that is one of my worse fears...to out live my ohana). My Grandpa died 21 yrs ago and she has carried on. She did everything on her own. She is amazingly strong and devoted. She is one of the best examples to me. Grandma Dean now lives in St. George so, we had a memorial service for my aunt for my grandma's sake. Man that's tough basically having two funerals. The great grand kids all ran to greet Grandma Dean! My cute Bree trying to keep Grandma Dean cooled off. It was only 101 in the shade! Yes this is my crazy brother! Most of the great grand kidsMost of the grand kids

I want to be just as cute when I get old :)

In Loving Memory of Cathy Marlow

After a week of hearing that my aunt was not doing good, we finally got the new that my cousin had to pull the plug and she passed away. She has been widowed about 15 years. As hard as it was to hear the news I'm glad she is with her husband. So my family and I took a road trip to Page, Arizona. She was cremated. I forgot to tell my kids that there was just ashes of her. So as Aubree and Dallin are looking at all the pictures my niece said, "She is in that container" my kid argued with her and then came to tattle on her. Boy that was hard to explain. Aubree started to cry because she got burned into ashes (even tho I told her she didn't feel a thing)! Note to self : Prepare your kids more and they won't make a scene. My Aunt T grand kids Tayor and AlyssaMy Aunt grew up in Hawaii but she wasn't Hawaiian. She had a great love for the culture. We had a luau after the service.

Funerals pull family together-I was able to visit with family I never knew and family I don't get to see very often. My little nephew that I have only seen one other time!My cousin has a Harley! He is younger than me and owns his own bike (paid for) :( So he took everyone for a ride. Something his dad use to do with us!Dave taking Maile around the block!
My cousin and I (wow what 15lb heavier looks like) Someday, someday I will have one of my own
