YUMMY S'mores!

This is what we love to do! Roasting marshmallows in our backyard. Although is gave us an itch to want to go camping. This is the next best thing if we can't go camping. I love these next few months because Dave loves to cook in the dutch oven. Which lets me off the hook for dinner! So if anyone is up for a warm fire to roast marshmallows.... just bring your roasting sticks!!!

Temple Dedication

Sunday we Malulani, Dave, and I went to the dedication for the Draper Temple. This was Dave's and Malulani first dedication. I have been to the Denver temple so I knew what to expect.

I got to tell you seeing your child grin from ear to ear is the best. We were able to go through the temple for the open house and I figured this is a good start to what can happen for Malulani. She will be twelve in about a year. So she will be able to go to the temple soon. After the broadcast there was a video of the inside of the temple. It has been a couple of months since we have been inside of it. As the video was playing Malulani kept on saying ,"I went in there, ....and oh I love that room, ....and that was so pretty" she went on and on. She couldn't stop smiling. I loved to watch and listen to her! I can't wait until she gets to go and do baptisms.

A chance to relax

Girls getaway to Rachel's families cabin at Bear lake. A much needed trip.
We flagged some people down so that we all could be in the picture together.

It was beautiful weather. The sun was shinning just a little bit windy. We had a picnic at the beach and then collected seashells there were thousands up against the shore line.
We just had to put our feet in. We couldn't go to Bear lake and not go in the water. Man was it freezing cccoold!!!!
And we rocked out playing guitar hero. Man it was hard. Here are the pros.

And the best part was pedicure and manicures. It was so relaxing. So laid back some did some crafting, reading, a lot of eating, a little bit of sleeping, and some games. We even played good old M.A.S.H. it was hilarious. It was way fun and all was well at home which was the best part. My house was even clean (thanks babe)! All the stress disappeared. If anyone gets the chance to do something like this..... don't let it pass you by. Everyone needs a getaway. Thanks Rachel it was a blast!!!!!!!

St. Patty's Day

This lad is a wee bit Irish! We made these for preschool.

Aubree four-leaf clover hair do. Not sure if you can tell or not.
The girls love the holidays. They like to see what mom can do with their hair.

Malulani's three-leaf clover. A little easier to see hers.
As soon as the girls got home we played outside with friends! It was a beautiful day!
Maile loves to hang from the rings.
These lil' lad's beards are not staying on but they are so darling!!!!
For preschool we played shamrock hopscotch. Cute little Megan!

Where's the fire?

We had a field trip at the fire station today!!! The kids got a tour of the new fire station and learned a lot about fire safety. Dallin was able to wear one of their hats. Inside of his hat there was a picture of the fire fighter's family which was neat to see.

Hyrum, Tayler, Dallin, Brandon, and Megan.

Dallin was so funny-one of the fire fighters asked, "What do you do if you are on fire?". He almost got it right-he said, "Drop and roll". The kids thought that the whole Darth Vader breathing was cool. Poor guy had stay in the hot suit until we all get our pictures taken.

They even got to ring the bell in the truck!
Here is part of the preschool group sporting the fire fighters hats.
I must say that we are so fortunate. At a drop of a second we have medical help, law-in-forcement, fire fighters, and more ready to help. They do more than we realize. I probably don't say thank you enough to my father-in-law, mother-in-law, cousin, my uncle, and everyone else that are in this line of work. Hopefully we don't need any help from anyone in that line of work but I know IF we do, we will be taken care of.

Mercy River

Last night for enrichment we had a "Spiritual Spa". A local group that about a year into performing together came and performed for us. Man it was awesome!!! I can't believe I hesitated on going. I'll tell you what, those three are amazing. I only wish I could sing....let alone sing like them. I came home and told Dave that I had to have their CD. I usually am not like that but they were so good.

They related different spa treatments to our lives and what we need to be doing. They talked about trimming things out of our live. I tend to clutter my life with too much. Then they would perform a song that would just move you. They talked about Daniel 3:17-18. Being delivered from the burning fiery furnace. They never lost faith (burn me if you will-????could I do that????). The spirit was so strong and it was a good thing I brought my coat cuz I had goose bumps the whole time. My two favorite songs was The Robe and Fly Away (which I was able to add to my music player)

I just had to get the CD and I would recommend the CD to anyone- I LOVE IT!

Spring is in the AIR

Today was a beautiful day and we have the itch of spring. It is definitely in the air at our house. Okay me and the kids, Dave is content on still being winter so he can snowmobile more.
SO -off we went for a bike ride to the park. Dallin wanted a friend to come and play, so we invited Brandon and Debbie decided to join us with all the kids!
We did a ton of underdogs! But we haven't mastered the pumping of the legs just yet so it got to be hard work after a while.
I love this sweet picture. Dallin loves his little sister and he wanted to take her down the slide every time.
Maile just laughed and laughed. On our swing set we don't have a baby swing so she really hasn't been out on it-we need to get one! You can actually see her two teeth (14 mths old and only 2 teeth)!
They could have stayed there all day!
Dave decided to let Maile go down by herself!

YUMMY and easy!!!!

4 lbs beef short ribs (we have used all different kinds of ribs)
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup beef broth or water (I have always used water)
1 Tbsp packed brown sugar
2 tsp minced fresh ginger
2 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tsp Asian sesame oil
rice or noodles
2 tsp sesame seeds
In crock pot combine green onions, soy sauce, broth or water, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and pepper mix and then add ribs. Cove and cook on low 7-8 hours or high 3-4 hours or until the ribs are tender. Remove the ribs from the crock pot and trim the fat and bones. Skim off oils from the sauce. Stir in the sesame oil and cook on low 15-30min more. Serve over the rice or noodles garnish with the sesame seeds and more green onions.
*if your ribs don't have bones then only do 3lbs
