Where does the TIME go????

Dallin is now SIX years old!!! Looking back just the last year of his life and I must say he has change a ton! We held him back from starting kindergarten til this year and he so needed it. He struggled with some sounds. He also needed a sometime to chill! He has so much energy :) Dallin is the most rough kid but so sweet. He is so protective of his sisters. He is very smart and catches on to things quickly. Very easy going and extremely helpful. A very hard worker (loves to wash and load the dishes)! I love his little raspy voice and his contagious smile. I love him so much and I am so blessed to be mother!!!!
I have an ELEVEN year old!!! I feel old when I think about it like that. I guess being married for almost 13 years that can happen :) Although very scary to think about her being a teenager-we are on the verge of those years. Malulani is so smart and very beautiful. If she would have a different personality I would worry but she is reserved. She is tenderhearted and sensitive. Very responsible and is an over achiever. She is a pleaser which is good and bad. Once you get to know her she can't stop talking and giggling. She is so full of life! It makes me sad to see her grow up! She is an amazing daughter and I am so very fortunate!!!

Bummer of a birthday :(

So a week ago Malulani got a cardboard cut under her finger nail and this morning she woke up and her finger is all infected. She poked it a couple of time with a needle and pus came out and then we pour hydrogen peroxide on it. I was thinking my mad skills in the medical field (ha ha) that would do the trick. Then I get a call midway through the day-it's Malulani crying and saying her finger hurts so bad. I thought to myself....she is not one for complaining - so it must really hurt! I encouraged her to stay and I would be there soon. You see today is her birthday and I was taking her birthday treats to her class so I went and took a look. Sorry for the bad picture- it is nasty. It was turning the fingernail yellow and you could see the infection working it's way down her finger. So I checked the girls out of school and we headed home. My mom came out to my house and watched the younger kids while we went to the doctors. Just before I took this picture she was crying :`( She is terrified of needles and that was her worry. I gave her the "be brave" talk but I am totally a wimp when it comes to needles. I don't blame her for not liking needles.

So finally the doctor comes in and was totally joking with her about needing to cut her finger off! She totally lost it! Then he said the word "NEEDLE" and she got hysterical. Another nurse came in to help she was hitting the doctor away. I felt bad for her but at the same time as I was looking at it as an outsiders view it was kind of funny. He drained her finger all while trying to dodge her fist. When it was all said and done she thanked him and apologized.

After leaving the doctors office and then going to get the prescription filled Malulani turned to me and asked if the $100 that I just spent comes out of her birthday stuff. OH how sad! Of course I said no! She went to activity days and went to sleep because she had been crying so much she had a headache. Then we had to rush to get dinner, presents, and dutch oven cobbler in before the night was over.

The saddest part of all of this .....last year on her birthday Dave cut his fingers on his table saw and Dave and I didn't get back until 10pm on her birthday and a few years ago she was swinging in a tree and fell out of it and broke her arm. So needless to say the last few years of birthday have been not so lucky :(

I am just one of them.....

.....at least that's what people kept on saying to me. Had a amazing opportunity to go to youth conference this past week and man what fun and memorable time. Dave and both went up so we divided the kids up among family members. With out the support of our family I am sure only one of us would have gone!!!
This is my family the Brother of Jared aka the purple team. I was able to meet and get to know amazing people. This is me corrupting them by my "WOW" ness.

We spend every waking minute with them. All 28 of them!! Hard to keep track of everyone.
There were workshops everyday and they were well taught.

Here the kids are trying to do a little demonstration on teamwork. Every game and activity was about teamwork and man we had the best team......even though Dave's family won 2 out of 3 games!
Man it has been a while since I have been around the youth and they are as crazy as me (or am I as crazy as them) Either way the are so fun and full of life. They are about living in the moment and I love that.

We had to pull of a skit in 30 mins but there was a catch each of the family members had to be in the skit and we had to use everything a bag that they gave us. Some how I was Miss America (ha ha I know) During our skit we had some commercials. We had a Geico commercial and a New Moon preview. Funny stuff!!!

We sanded and painted blocks-here is my buddy Whit sanding away and she was so fast!

And of course there was a dance which Dave was dragged kicking and screaming out to dance. I had a young boy asked if I would dance with him.

Two lucky boys got to dance with Whit and Morgan!
No you don't need glasses...this is my Bishop-Bishop Gray, Marie, Heather Gray, I doing the Macarena. I was surprise they didn't kick me out of the camp after seeing my moves.

Two great men that I respect and love!
And then there was a obstacle course that kicked my butt! Here is Dave doing a crab walk- with Art Kline ex drill sargent yelling at him to move.
LOL
I thought that by helping Whit on the course that I would get out of doing it my self..............
wrong! Here I am trying not to break my foot! And attempting to crab walk-its been way too long since I have done that move.
We even had free time...so what did we do with our free time-played ninja warrior (way fun)
and each of us did a "stupid human trick" it was a good time. This one was kind of gross but funny. Tootsie roll in the nose and then Sarah would lick it until it fell in her mouth. Everyone has a stupid human trick (weither or not you admit it or not) Someday I will show you my stupid human tricks :)
We also had water activities which broke out to a water fight. There was not one person dry! I got dragged about 10 ft because I would not let go of my water jug-I even got battle wounds!!!

It was simple amazing from the food to the fun. I learned so much which will help me as my daughter creeps up to a teenager. The youth is our future and I am so glad I got to be apart of a minuet amount of their life.

Happy Birthday to My little big guy

I can't believe Dallin is 6 years old. For part of his birthday he was able to take a buddy to Lagoon.

Here he is getting a hair cut at Snip-Its which he loved because he was able to play a video game the whole time!

He is not hard to please when it comes to presents the only two things he asked for was a Indiana Jones whip and an ipod. Well because I could not find an Indiana Jones whip we went with the ipod (just the shuffle) along with a ton of other fun stuff. I don't know about you but I feels like the "spendy stuff" starts sooner and sooner.

Man I Love this little guy so much!!! Some encounters we have had with this guy since he has been in our life.....
