Less is More- One Layer, Wedding invitations and something different-from me.

Hi,
Well I have 3 cards today, the first is this week's Less is More Challenge- One layer with a doodle! As I'm rubbish I drawing I went for more of a squiggle than a doodle! I used this Technique Tuesday stamp that I've had for ages and I drew (Squiggled) a frame and I also drew a mouth on and a nose and a few bubbles rising up.You can tell the bubbles I did the wonky ones.

Next up is a wedding invitation I'm working on. My sample had a white ribbon and even though I tried the girl wants her colours on the card and picked this. The background paper is lovely wrapping paper that I found in a hallmark shop- great way to save money.

And now for something completely different....

I love vintage style but I'm not very good at it- definately a CAS girl. So in this I used 3 things that are not me- lace, a buckle and background paper- leftover from wedding invitations. I actually quite like this and think my wee granny would have loved it althoguh she's no longer with us. definately a card for an older lady I think.

Thank you for your kind comments, it's back to school for me tomorrow and will probably be busy with report cards, it's that time of year. Hope to squeeze in some crafting but will definately be browsing the crafty blogs.

Play date Cafe, Another LIM and more....

Hi,
Well true to my thoughts I've had a chance to make more cards as it's the holidays, so be prepared for a long post! Hubby away walking the West Highland Way and 3 kids all busy with sports clubs and studying, soooo.... what's a girl to do but craft!!

The first card is for Play Date cafe's challenge 126 and incorporates colours from a picture.

So here is mine

Ooops! Missed the link for this- it was midnight last night. Never mind I needed the card anyway.

I used grunge me and skater dude from PTI and a mix od the colours required.

Next up is my second Less is more card- 3 greens. Unfortunately a sympathy card that I needed but plain and simple I think does it for this sad occasion. I do love theses challenges- Mandi and Chrissie's style is just right for capturing my style of cards- I'm pretty rubbish at layering and love shabby chic but cant do it- so Less is More challenge is great!
I used pocket silhouettes from Stampin up.

And now for an anniversary card and wedding sample. I've got a girl coming tonight to look at wedding samples so have made these using Manhattan flower embossing folder from Stampin Up and glamour dust. Ran over the anniversary one with a light copic just to show colour.

Ok- I did warn you it was a long post today.

I'm off to do more crafting!! Yippee!

Thanks for looking,
Claire xx

Less is More Wk 62- 3 Shades of Green

Hello,
As usual it's been a while but today I managed to make a card for Less is More's challenge- 3 shades of green.

I used a Clairty stamps heart and coloured in 3 shades using promarkers, then I mounted on a piece of card that I coloured using 3 pens again to get a graduating effect.- I saw this on a PTI blog, I think it was Nichole Heady's. You should pop over there for some inspiration- I love it. Just wish PTI would have a better postage rate to UK.
The stamp is from a Stampin Up set called Simply said.

I hope to get lots of crafting done this week as it's the hols and I tidies my craft room- woo hoo! And I ordered a few memory box dies online using my birthday money so will be awaiting the postie every day.

Thanks for looking and comments.

CAS-ual Fridays CFC 44

Hello again crafters.

Not done anything for a while but have nice new crafty goodies that really need to be used.
Today I have a card that I made for my lovely Mum for Mother's day. It fits with this week's Cas-ual Friday challenge.-
A recipe-
1 A pattern- I used green stripy washy tape.
2 An image- A stamp from one of my favourite stamp sets from Verve- sorry can't remember the name but I love this flower.
3. A sentiment- I used the wonderful words additions and dies that I recently received- (Thanks Alex!)

I used acetate for a change, I love the look this gives.

Thanks for looking- hope to be back soon with more.

Less is More Theme- Dies

Seems to be every 2nd week I'm managing to get on here. Better than nothing I suppose.

This week's challenge from Less is more is to use a die. I'm loving the new Papertrey ink dies and working hard to save my pennies for more- but the postage and cutoms fair build up the cost.

ANyway here's a card I made for my cousins birthday. I used the lovely loopsy daisy dies from PTI and the sentiment is also from PTI signature greetings.

Thanks for any comments.

PLay date Cafe & Less is More cards.

Two cards tonight and both very different.

The first one I made I was inspired by the Playdate Cafe- A challenge blog with colours as the focus. I am not very good at using my flower embelishments or making vintage style cards- This is an in between one I think.

Click the picture to take you to the site- and check me out for mastering links (Hopefully??)
Here's the card.

I used the lovely french lace doily die that I got last week, and love it!

And for the next

LESs IS MORE- Happy Birthday girls and thanks for the inspiration and making me feel that I am a crafter even thouh I can't do vintage!

Today I was delighted and found a little craft shop about a mile from my house- sold mostly ready made things, but... It had lovely rolls of lace and in aqua too- A result.
So I've made 2 cards although can only enter them once as they're both so similar. I used sentiments from botanical silhouettes from Papertrey ink and bought the crocheted flowers from the wee craft shop too.

Thanks for your comments,

LIM- Aperture Card

Hi,

I'm amazing myself that I managed to upload a card during term time.
Here's my entry for this week's Less is More Challenge- An aperture card! I struggled a bit but wanted something spring and I love flowers- you'll have noticed as most of my cards are flower ones.

So here is my entry- I used a nestie to cut the aperture and a Clarity stamp for the cherry blossom stamped with brown ink and cut out by hand. The sentiment is from PTI.

I'm loving the entries uploaded onto the LIM site already but for some reason my computer is not letting me open every link- think it's on it's last legs!

Hope to do some more crafting tonight- fingers crossed!
Thanks for looking and any comment- they are appreciated.
