2 challenges- Better late than never.

Hello,
Well my first week back at work is a bit of a shock, kids are all lovely- P1 which is 5 year olds- and my baby started school.

My card this week was made earlier but his is the first time I've had a chance to upload it. So glad I made the deadline.

The first challenge is Less is More and the second is Passion for papertrey's male card .

I piunched out a square and used it to mask the outframe of the card. Then I used my brayer for the coloured background and stamped the birds and flowers with Clarity stamps.
The sentiment is from PTI.

HOpe to be back tomorrow with next week's LIM challenge.

Less is more #2

Morning,

Well I loved the challenge from Less is More - Use your colours of your countries flag- that I decided to use another Glasgow landmark.

This is a statue of the Duke of Wellington that is outside the Gallery of Modern Art.

The traffic cone has become a late addition to the statue and constantly is replaced- a sign of Glasgow's humour????

Latterly the listed statue has taken a bit of wear from the funny Wedgies (Glasgow folk) climbing on it to replace the cone. Hence the Polis (Policeman) booking someone- looks like the Duke himself.

If anything this could be sent to a fellowcot who has nmoved away and I'm sure it'd make them smile and reminise about theiir days in Sunny Scotland.

Thanks for all your lovely comments and to the lovely lady who helped me with the linking- I got it working :)

Less is More- Your conuntry's flag.

Hello.

Today I have used the blue from the Scotland flag for my card (Brilliant Blur from Stampin Up).

Not my favourite volour but I'm quite pleased with it.

The stamps are from damselfly crafts and the artist Libby Walker.

The story behind the stamp is in Glasgow's coat of arms.
There's the tree that never grew,
There's the bird that never flew,
There's the fish that never swam,
There's the bell that never rang.

I've had such a great week. My daughter got 5 grade A highers and is going back to school for her sixth year before hopefully going in to study medicine!!!! I am so proud.

Thanks for looking,
Claire xx

My lovely daughter Becky has made me sooo proud!!
She got her exam results today and got 5 As in her highers.
I am chuffed to bits.
She obviously gets her brains from me :)
Might get to make a card later when I stop bubbling!!

Good morning- this will be my only card today as it's my anniversary and my daughter's 5th birthday tomorrow. A busy weekend.

My card today is for the Less is more challenge- Feeling Fruity.

I used Stampin Ups Tart & Tangy and the sentiment is from PTI.

I have rarely used this set but hope to try it out a bit more next week.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, off to tidy up!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC13 xx

The long & Short of it.

In the above challenge you've to make a card 4x9 and keep it CAS.
http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/2011/07/cas-ual-fridays-challenge-cfc13.html

I cut our triangles on ginham paper as I have no banner stamps (They're on order:)
I'm not sure what the wee stamp is but it's a cutie. If it was clear I'dve sat it on top of the washing line.

Thanks for all your comments.

PTI card- Sky Inspired. & 2 more

Morning.
I love the summer holidays! I get to do lots of crafting.

Here's my Passion for papertrey card for this fortnight. It has to be related to the sky. I put in a butterfly from the flutterby set and the flower's are from the botanical silhouettes.

The other cards is similar but different to my Case study card, too similar to re enter I think. And finally a very basic one I was inspired by on a blog- not sure whose but one of the Passion for papertrey girls I think, Sorry can't find it now.

Thanks for looking.

Another late challenge- Triple embossing

I really need to keep up with the world of challenges. After popping over to Dolly Daydream's fab blog I was inspired tyo try the metal challenge at Just for Fun. However after making the card I realised a new challenge had been set- late again!!

Anyway, This card is an anniversary card for my fantastic husband. We'll be married 17 years this weekend. He is an amazing man, very patient of my crafting (an other things that keep me off housework) and he has given me some money to spend on new stash for my anniversary gift.

I used gold embossing powder and triple mebossed a rectangle, then I stamped the Hero Arts swirls stamp on to when it was still cooling. The colour purple is for amethyst as 17th is Amethyst or citrine.

Thanks for looking,
Claire xx

PS this is my 3rd post today- the kids are crafting too, you should see the state of my dining room with them!!

Less is More Button/Ribbon

Hi, My 2nd post for tonight. This is for this week's Less is More Challenge- Ribbons or buttons.
It's a late entry for me, usually I'm sitting at me computer on a Saturday morning waiting for the challenge to be uinveiled. Hoewever this week we were camping in Dornoch in the North of Scotland so no early entry for me.

I opted for buttons and used PTI Bloomin Button Bits, which I rarely use, and the sentiment is from PTI botanical silhouettes.

Thanks for your comments,
Claire x

PDCC91 A splash of colour

Hi there,

Just had a lovely day today in the sunshine, kids playing in the garden and even made a card tonight.
This card is for the Play Date Cafe Challenge 91- A splash of colour. My splash is pink and I'm going to try to make a range of vards for a variety of occasions.
The lily is lovely but can't remember where its from, the sentiment if from a PTI set that I bought from Ebay and love it!

I'm waiting on another set of stamps from PTI and can't wait, they should be with me in a few weeks, woohoo!!

Oops, just noticed theis challenge is finished, never mind, I enjoyed making the card, xx

Fanatical About Botanical Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

This is completely different to my usual style, but I was so inspired by some of the other cards I thought I'd have a go.

The challenge is from Moxie World- a whole collection of challenges and inspiration.
http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/07/next-moxie-fab-world-challenge.html

First I thought I cheated as I cut out the flower from a 12x12 page. But I used distress inks to give the white card an antique feel.
I also stamped the script in artichoke ink from Stampin up and the sentiment if a stampin up stamp too.

I'm not sure if I like it or not, I keep looking at it but can't decide.

Thanks for your comments.

WMSC56 Sketch & Moxie Fab world cards.

Here is a different card for me today. I've used a sketch (Which I'm not very good at doing) and teamed it with the moxie fab world Trigger Tuesday Challenge. A fab lemon & black coat.

Here's the link

http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/07/tuesday-trigger-perty-flirty.html

and the Waltzing mouse one can be linked at the side.

I used Waltzing mouse stamps Say it with Style which is fast becoming one of my favourites.

I'm still unsure how to link to a site by clicking on the text so you'll need to copy and paste. If anyone can help me with this that'd be great.

Thanks for the lovely comments,
Claire xx

Newly decorated Craft room pics & Passion for papertrey Summer Card

Have had a busy few days ( and my hubby has been fantastic, working all weekend on my craft room), filled 12 bin bags so you can imagine how crowded my wee craft room was.

The white unit is from Ikea, the bathroom dept.

You can see my little girl, she now shares my desk as she loves it so much, but I've had to lock the door as she thinks nothing of coming in and using my good pens and stamps.

Now my card...The challenge- Summer, so I made a felt rose.
The card is made using a sentiment from Blooming Button Bits and lush paper from Colorblok. I love PTI stamps and the cards on the Passion form Papertrey are stunning.

Less is More Circles & Play date cafe #90

Good morning.

Today I have 1 card and 2 challenges. I used the colours from Play date cafe and the theme from Less is more- Circles to create todays card.

My idea for a challenge a day has gone off the rails this week all because my 4 year old went to sleep wearing her glasses and woke up without them.... I mean we couldn't find them at all....in her tiny room....which has been completely emptied to look for them.... and I noticed how much the walls needed decorated....and so began a new proiject....

And you know what happens when you decorate one room in the house, another looks shabby....and so another project.... Watch this space...

This'll probably be my only post this week as craft room getting painted and new carpet etc.

Thanks for all your lovely comments,
Clairexxx

PS The glasses turned up in a box!!! After a new pair were ordered. :)

LIM one layer with legs.

Another entry this morning-I thought this would fit as the legs go into the shoe???

This stamp is from Clairty stamps and the sentiment from Verve. Both inked with Night of Navy from SU and then glitter on the outer part of the shoe.

Thanks for looking and comments,
Claire xxx

LIM- One Layer- with legs!!!

Morning.

Here's my entry for this week's Less is More challenge- a one layer card- with legs!
Initially I thought I can't do that, then had another think.

This is my 3rd card this morning- other 2 in scrap heap- it's going to be one of those days.

The stamps are from Pink Petticoat- I got them free with a magazine a couple of months ago.

Idea from the swirly border came from Coops, she used it on a card and it looked great, thanks Nic!

Thanks for your comments.

Waltzingmouse stamps Sketch challenge.

Hi again.
Going to set myself a target of finding a different challenge each day and trying to make a card for it.

This card is from Waltzingmousestamps sketch challenge. I still don't know how to link straight to the bolg but will put a blinkie up in the side bar so you can go there.

I love these stamps- very like PTI but without the huge postage costs. This is my first entry to this challnege and I used stamps from the Say it with style set.

Thanks for looking,

Playdate cafe- colour challenge.

Yes I know, it's a miracle, another card, another challenge.

I came across this blog http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com/2011/07/play-date-cafe-challenge-pdcc89.html and thought it was lovely. Such beautiful cards. I'm usually just a 2 challenge girl (Passion for papertrey and LIM) but I thought the colours would be nice to try.

The challenge is Mint, Taupe and Buttercream.
I'll definately be trying this one again.

Lss is More-Blue & Passion for Papertrey- Border

Another card for me today- how I love the school holidays!

I made the flower by following a youtube clip, the paper is printed from Pink Petticoat. The stamp is from PTI signature greetings, stamped in night of navy from SU.

I used the leftover bit of printed paper to make the border.

I'm entering this into 2 challenges, Less is more- Shades of blue and Passion for papertreys Border challenge.

Thanks for looking,

LIM Blue card- At long last!!!

Well I've finally managed to make a card. With the run up to the school holidays and my sister's wedding I've not had a minute. But.. all that has changed now.

Here's an entry for the LESS IS MORE challenge- Shades of blue.
I've used a blue ribbon, STampin Up Whimsical words stamped in Bordering blue and a tiny pale blue pearl. Really CAS would be good style for wedding invites me thinks!

I hope to make another entry as I've just made a paper rose from rolled up paper but still deciding how to use it. Maybe I'll get some inspiration tomorrow.

Thanks for the lovely comments. I'll def get more of a chance to comments on your lovely cards now it's the holidays!!

Happy Father's Day

Not made anything for a while as I've been busy at work. Roll on 2 weeks for the summer hols.

I'm not very good at male cards so found this tricky.

The fisherman is from Clarity stamps and the tickets from Imagine that....

Got a day of cleaning, watching daughter playing football then off to see Dad ahead of me.

Thanks for looking.

Less is more- Frame it!

I thought this would be an easy one but have 4 cardsin the bin, fit for nothing with smudges, wonky frames and more.

So here is one I'm happy with. The flower is a stampin up one that I rarely use- because the two part bit is tricky- and the image is from imagine that...
The frame is drawn on.
Thanks for looking,

Monochrome Less is more challenge.

Hi,

I thought I'd be quick off the mark and make my entry to this weeks Less is More challenge before I start my housework!

This week's theme is Monochrome and I had a dreaded male card to do. I'm fine with flowers and frills but not so good with male cards.

So for my brother in law to be he has a birthday card made using For Father from Stampin Up. I liked the effect so made another 2 in different colours, the shades of brown is my favourite.

Thanks for all your lovely comments,

PTI- Inspired by a song.

Yes, it must be a miracle, I have another card and post. Nothing for long enough then 5 or 6 in a few days!

This is another entry for Passion for papertrey's challenge- Inspired by a song.

The song I thought of for this was Wonderwall as she looks like she's chillin having a little thoughtful time.
The image is called LAzy Days by Tatty Buttons and the sentiment is from PTI Signature Greetings.

The bling is there not by design but because there was a dirty smudge that I couldn't get off! :)

Thanks for looking,
Claire x

Here's my 2nd entry for this week's Less is More challenge- Pick a square.
