Fun Memorial Weekend

It was SOOO nice having Erik home for the long weekend! He was able to help me pack and still have plenty of time to hang out with the boys. Only 2 more weeks away from dad and then we will be with him in "Homa"! This weekend Erik took Jack to home depot and so now every time we pass a home depot Jack yells "home shepot home shepot"!
This picture isn't from Memorial Weekend but it was Jack's last day of school so I thought I'd document it!
Cute little boys! First time for them BOTH to be smiling in the same picture. Jacob's getting bigger!

Uncle Jeremy and Courtney took Jack to play putt putt. They are both left handed boys so Jeremy can teach Jack how to golf and bat!

He loved all the animals at the golf place

Aunt Mimi and Uncle Pop's house is kid heaven! Jack and Cruz loved riding the gator together. Cruz only threw Jack off one time:)

Action shot with Jack and his "hemet" (helmet

Woops.

Brotherly Love

Jack is the sweetest big brother. He has really taken an interest in Jacob this past week! He wants to be around him all the time as long as he's not crying:) These two are going to be quite the pair! Jacob had his one month well child visit yesterday and not to my surprise he's growth chart looks a lot like his big brother's!!!
At birth:
Jack-7 lbs, 19.5 inches
Jacob- 6 lbs 12 oz, 19.25 inches
At one month:
Jack- 9 lbs 13 oz, 22 inches
Jacob- 9 lbs 12 oz, 21.8 inches

Sweet big brother asking if he can snuggle with Jacob

So sweet.

While daddy's away...

The last couple of weeks have been exhausting but filled with fun and friends. I appreciate all the people who have invited Jack over to play, brought a meal, or called to see how we are doing. Erik found us a house in Edmond that we are going to lease for a few months so I can get up there and start our house hunt. We scheduled the movers for June 13 so at least I know we'll all be together again soon! We haven't sold our house yet but hopefully something will happen with that soon, too.
Here are some pictures of our time without dad...

"I know I'm the youngest but I'm still #1!"
Jack made the funniest, most serious face stopped at a red light on the way to MDO...he looks so old!

Jack tried to go to "Homa" (Oklahoma) in Erik's suitcase.

Jacob had a little playdate (sleep date) with his friend Garrett who was born a few hours after him. Same birthday 4-20-09.

We've been working on the "sprinkler" dance move..he almost has it down!

Colin and his mommy came over to hold Jacob and bring dinner. Jack and Colin ended up playing in the water and eating popsicles together.

Jacob sleeping while the girls play. Isn't this so typical? Guys nap while girls chatter:)

Mackenzie and Jack had the best time playing at the park

Since our house is on the market I'm a full time mom and part time janitor...luckily Jack helps me a little:)

"Jack's Mommy"

Erik and I always joke that we are no longer 'Erik and Jerica' but we are now 'Jack's mom and dad'. At least at church and in our neighborhood that is how we are known. I think that is great! I'm sure pretty soon I'll be known as 'Jacob's mommy' too! Here are some pictures from our Mother's Day!

About to leave for church

3 Men and a Mom

He's a mommas boy:) Or at least I hope he is!

This is what happens when you take my son to any place that has black beans, gaucamole, rice, and chips. GROSS. See that nastiness between his two front teeth??? YUCK. He kept taking his bib off so I just gave up on his white shirt.
We went to Blue Mesa for their Mother's Day brunch. SO GOOD.
First time to say "Erik, party of 4"!!!

Dad Duty

I had a baby shower to go to on Saturday so Erik had baby duty for a few hours. After 2 hours he was calling me asking when I was going to be home:) But I had a fabulous time all by my lonesome for a little while!!!

This is what Jack looks like every Saturday morning after his donuts with dad outing. hmm...wonder what kind of donuts he was eating??? chocolate maybe???
Jack loves to lay down and stare at his brother upside down.

This is what Jacob looks like when Jack is around...he's always in the "ready" position in case he needs to protect himself!

"Night Night, Butter"

Jack has started saying the cutest things about his baby brother. He cannot stand to hear the baby cry and he looks at me like "turn that thing down"!!! When Jacob goes down for naps Jack says "night night, butter":) Here are some pictures from our week.

We had a showing this week and so I loaded the boys up in the stroller to get out of the house. They look so beat! It was so hot outside and it was during naptime so overall it was not pleasant!
I brought the monitor outside and set out Jack's water toys so he could play while Jacob napped.
Jack and mommy time was so fun!

Sweet innocent face before his 2 week newborn screen. Poor thing has no idea his little heel is about to be pricked. Thank you, Lindsay and Mackenzie, for letting Jack come over and play so I didn't have to brave Plano Presby with 2 little ones!

Trial Run

Erik has to be in OKC today and tomorrow so I'm getting a few days practice being here by myself with the boys. So far I'm still alive. He will be in Dallas Monday and Tuesday but starting next Wednesday he's permanently in OKC during the week and home on weekends. I loved my c section the first time but man this time was even better...the the Lord because I've got a toddler to chase around and a newborn to hold! We will miss you, daddy!!!!

This was right before we went into the OR. I guess he was getting mentally prepared for me getting cut open??? He'll love me for posting this, I'm sure!

Jack stands by the window each evening waiting on "daddy home" so I'm sure he won't understand where daddy is all week!

Brothers

You can definitely tell that these two are brothers but one thing that I noticed right off the bat was Jacob's hairline is very round and Jack's came to a point at the front of his forehead. Also, Jacob's skin is a little more olive. There are other differences, too, I just thought I'd post a few pics from when they were first born.

Another week with my boys...

Jack and Jacob have had a fun week filled with lots of visitors. Ashley and Anna Lou came over to meet Jacob and play with Jack. Then Lindsay and Mackenzie came over with a yummy treat for Jack! Jacob has been such a joy this week. He probably looks more like me but he definitely has his daddy's half smile:) Jack has the same little grin, too. Enjoy the pictures.

Miss Anna Lou came over to play

Thanks Lindsay for the yummy milkshake!!!

Mackenzie and Jack are getting good at hugging:)

Sweet baby boy

He grins on and off all day...
