We left for our vacation the day after Erik took his finals so he found out this week that he got a 98 in Advanced Financial Concepts and Planning and a 96 in his Managers and Entrepeneurs class...so proud of him considering he really hasn't taken much time away from us at all except for the time he's actually in class. He has a quick break and starts 2 more classes August 31. But the direction he wants to go professionally requires MBA and CFP designations soooo no rest for the weary, during his breaks he is taking his CFP tests so he can sit for that exam later this year as well. It's a busy and challenging year for him but so far he's doing GREAT!

Family Vacay
We had a great time with the boys in Clearwater Beach, Florida last week. In May, Erik and I went to Lido Beach which is a small beach in Sarasota for a little getaway and we LOVED it. Best beach we had ever been to....not crowded, not touristy but still in walking distance to St. Armand Circle, no seaweed, no jellyfish, lots of sand bars and shallow water...we thought it would be perfect for us to bring the boys. But the drive was a little far from the Tampa Airport so we decided on something a little closer to the Tampa metro thinking the beach would still be similar. We enjoyed Clearwater but we decided it may be worth the extra 45 minutes down to Lido Beach next time. The boys had SO much fun and were natural Floridians. The only negative thing was that Jack has terrible motion sickness and threw up pretty much the whole flight there. I tried every 'home remedy' for motion sickness and nothing worked so I ended up going to the pharmacy in Clearwater and getting a chewable dramamine tablet hoping it would work on the flight home. IT WORKED. IT WAS A MIRACLE. First time in his life that he hasn't thrown up on a plane!!! I posted pictures of our trip in no particular order.

Our view for the week

morning walk on the beach

Handsome hubby!!!

Of course they found footballs in the surf store!
It was bright out and I lost my sunglasses in the ocean:(

There were a few clouds the first day we were there and then sunny and hot the rest of the time!
Jack took this picture :)
They love outdoor dining.

Waiting for the shuttle at the airport...so glad to finally be there.
Watching a movie on the plane (in between Jack getting sick).

JeremyCourt Update
Most of you know one of my younger brothers, Jeremy, recently got married. We absolutely LOVE his wife Courtney (who was also a chi omega at Baylor) and Jack has been combining their names and calling them 'JeremyCourt' ever since he first met her. Pretty cute:) Well they have had a pretty incredible first couple months of marriage....Courtney moved to Dallas after graduation, they bought a house in McKinney, and now Jeremy got a new job and will be in NYC for almost a month for training. Courtney got him Yankees tickets so she will be able to fly up there next weekend to spend the weekend and go to the game. We are super excited for them and we can't wait to visit north Dallas MORE :)

Reason to Celebrate!
This week is an exciting week for our family. First off, Erik and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary TODAY!!!! I could go into lots of detail about how much our marriage has matured this year but that would a whole post in itself so I will just say that we grew more as a couple this year than in the previous 4 years put together! Second, Erik completes his first semester of grad school and is well on his way to getting his MBA next year at this time (it is a very accelerated program). Lastly, after Erik takes his final on Tuesday, we will be headed to Florida for a little vacation before Erik starts his next 2 classes. The boys are SOOO excited to go to the beach. I am just excited that we will be able to spend quality time with Erik without him having to work or study! On a side note, if you think about it----pray for Jack because he has terrible motion sickness and almost always gets sick on planes. Please pray for our flight and that we can make it to Tampa without vomit all over us:(

ahhh...Clearwater Beach....
