So proud.

This month marked the anniversary of Erik and my first date (is that grammatically correct? doesn't sound right...) 9 years ago. Thank the Good Lord for giving me the courage to take a blind date to Chi Omega Casual. Changed both our lives forever. What are the odds a girl from small town northeast Texas would meet and marry a man born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska? Thank you Jesus. Thank you Baylor University. Thank you Chi Omega Casual. I have seen Erik go from a cute, fun-loving frat boy to a cute, hard-working, goal oriented, disciplined man. Not to mention how much he cares for Jack, Jacob, and me. We are so lucky to have him! On that note, congrats to Erik for finishing two more MBA classes this week. With only TWO courses remaining, he has juggled a family, a job, and his MBA classes and has managed all A's with the exception of only one B. Erik- We love you and are so proud of you! June is almost here!

Fun Easter Weekend

We had a super fun Easter weekend with the boys! We had a little family date on Friday night and went down to Bricktown for dinner at Abuelos and then went to see the OKC Redhawks (triple A Astros) vs the Round Rock Express (triple A Rangers). We had a little time to play in between dinner and the game and so we let the boys run and around and play ball for a while. They loved the game and ended up getting THREE baseballs from players/coaches and TWO t shirts:) Jack kept asking where Ian was and Jacob kept yelling "GO BEARS" so they were a little confused as to who was playing. We did get to see Kody Eppley who got called up right after the game and pitched two innings for the Texas Rangers on Saturday night!
On Easter, we went to church and then met friends for brunch and had a relaxing afternoon. Now Erik just has to get through this week of school and we can go on vacation this Sunday! Can't wait!

Jack LOVES baseball and wants to 'take grounders' all day!

Jacob is TWO!!!

Sweet Jacob Andrew turned 2 on Wednesday! He is such a sweet boy and Erik and I LOVE his cute personality. He is very different than Jack in that he takes his sweet time for most things:) Jack has always been in such a hurry to accomplish milestones and Jacob is so much more laid back. His speech is starting to come along and he is forming adorable sentences like "my tirsty" and "my cold" and "my hold you" :) He is still a VERY sensitive boy unlike his older brother. He will snuggle and sit in your lap and give lots of hugs and kisses:) He does have a stubborn side to him as well. Yesterday he kept saying "mommy stinks" haha. Lucky for me, today he is saying "daddy stinks" :) He has wavy/curly hair just like his uncle Jeremy did at this age and it is so adorable. I cannot tell you how blessed we are by this sweet child. We had his well check yesterday and his is average for weight and above average for height. Following the Olson trend of tall and skinny. Although he seems much more solid than Jack did at this age. His foot is the same size as Jack's and he is wearing almost the same size clothes! When they are sitting in the double stroller people think they are twins.

Jacob's class at MDO after their Easter egg hunt
Jacob has a crush on a girl with Texas roots! Her name is Georgia and he talks about her often:)

Jacob and Georgia

At his 2 year well check...he obviously didn't know about the shot he was going to get:(
Birthday lunch at chickfila with daddy!
Being silly after his birthday donuts!
We always try to fill the playroom with lots of balloons on their birthdays...they LOVE balloons and are entertained for days!
Jeremy and Courtney got him a fake dog that walks and barks since Jacob has allergies and cannot have a real dog:) Don't worry, it still sheds like a real puppy!

Business and a little fun

We are back from a successful and fun trip down to Texas. Our house was in great condition on the inside and Erik spent Sunday making sure the yard was up to our standards. Weird how that house felt so spacious when we built it because it was just Erik and I. Having the boys there reminded us that is was an awesome starter home but we are thankful for the extra space. How can two toddlers sound like a herd of elephants? :) The property manager was wonderful and made us feel at ease that our house would be taken care of. We are hopeful that this time next year we can put it back on the market! Thanks to Jeremy and Courtney for always being such wonderful hosts and entertaining the boys.

Gloria's patio. Like mother like son:)
Not a great picture but the sand area in Allen entertained the boys forever on this warm Texas night!
Jack in our old neighbor's golf cart. Thanks to the Bradfield's for entertaining the boys while daddy and Uncle Jeremy worked in the yard!
Uncle Jeremy and Erik taking the boys on one last ride through the neighborhood.
Headed back to Edmond. Sweet big brother, Jack. (And for the person who left a detailed how-to on correct Britax strap techniques....we know how to properly buckle our boys in their seats...we do, however, stop on occasion for gas and let our boys take cute pictures for their momma)

Sentimental

This weekend we are going to Frisco to take care of some business with our house. The person that has leased it for almost 2 years now is moving out and the property management company is bringing new tenants. This will be my FIRST time to see the inside of the house in almost 2 years! It will be an emotional weekend I'm sure. I've tried to move on and not look back but when you have so many good memories in a place it's hard not to think back. Several people have asked us if we were to move back to the Dallas area would we just move back in to our old house and the answer is no. We are only hanging on to it because we are waiting for the right time to sell which may not be until at least next year. Since moving Erik and I have both referred to the Dallas area as "home" for us probably because of the friends/family we have there. This morning I allowed myself to go back and look at pictures and while it makes me a little sad I also get excited for the possibility that we could be in the area again someday!!! I also promised that I would never take having good friends/family nearby for granted again!!!! To say that WE MISS YOU would be an understatement.

All these babies are now the older sibling!
Definitely miss having a neighborhood pool!
Cute little Sydney.
with friends before we moved...Jacob was a few weeks old
FUN memories of my little Jack at our old house:)
Our house during one of the few snows we had while we lived there.

And I'll stop there or it could get out of hand;)

p90x

Erik started p90x a couple of weeks ago (I think I mentioned before that he hasn't worked out AT ALL since we've been married) and he's still going strong! Jack thinks it's fun to "try" some of the moves and so occasionally Erik will put the video on in the playroom so he and Jack can "work out" together:)

That time of year...

In all the chaos that is going on in our lives with Erik finishing school, house projects, Jack's soccer, and re-leasing our house in Frisco....I am especially excited for our family trip to the beach. We usually go toward the end of summer but not knowing exactly what our schedule will be July or August we decided to go early. Erik has one more week long break from school before he's totally finished in June. During that week Erik and I have decided to take our talents back to southwest Florida (sorry I couldn't resist the Lebron phrase) and hang out in Clearwater Beach the first week of May. We love the white sand, shallow water perfect for kids, and walkable shops/restaurants. It will be so nice to put everything aside and hang out with our boys in their favorite environment---the beach!!!
