Lots of QT

A few summer activities to keep the boys active and busy (other than swimming of course).

Playing Wii with dad
A very nice Edmond police officer saw the boys riding their police car and stopped by for a fun visit. He even let the boys play in his car and turn on the lights and sirens! Erik taught the boys a quick lesson about NEVER riding in the back of the car:) ha!
Sushi date with Jack!
Jacob just fell asleep in the floor one day....he wasn't feeling too great:(
Spending lots of time in the playroom instead of the 100 degree heat.

Silly boys

Staying cool. Hopefully the neighbors don't mind them being in their underwear in the front yard!
Loving their new oversized blocks

I take them to the park in the mornings sometimes before it gets too hot. I will occasionally do a sprint workout while they play but they decided they wanted to do "races" too!

I love my summer entourage!

Food and Fun

We don't have a lot going on this summer and with Erik out of school we have even MORE time to spend together as a family:) Inevitably, when you live with 3 boys, a lot of that time revolves around food! I've been keeping my meals as simple as possible this summer with an occasional treat here and there.

Italian Ice at the Farmer's Market...yummy!
Jacob enjoying lunch in style!
Not exactly a "summer" meal, but my boys LOVE a rustic meatloaf!
Very simple and delicious meal. Grilled turkey burgers, grilled corn, and baked beans.
I have been looking for a new casual table for our eat in area in the kitchen. Our old one couldn't survive the toddler abuse it took for the past 3.5 years! FINALLY I found a great table in the "as is" section of a furniture store here in OKC that is very similar to our favorite store in DFW (Weir's). When I saw the table/chairs and the price, I knew it was for me:)!! I took a picture of the markdown price for proof that I actually did save over $3,000!

I tried a great grilled chicken recipe with an avocado/corn relish. It was a good, refreshing, healthy summer recipe....however, the cheesy potatoes I served with it probably weren't so healthy!

Early July

The end of June and beginning of July were lots of fun minus the fact that I got strep throat and spent part of our 4th of July weekend at CareNow in Frisco:( Our summer started with Erik finishing school (FOREVER), celebrating Father's Day, and heading to the Westin Stonebriar to celebrate the 4th of July weekend. We took the boys to Hawaiian Falls which they LOVED. We haven't been since we used to take Jack on Wednesday nights with our church but he was too small to do any of the rides. This time he managed to ride a few big slides with Erik and he absolutely loved it! And of course we spent time with Aunt Courtney and Uncle Jeremy:)

The boys are really in to all things 'public safety' these days. Granna was kind enough to get them full out uniforms to play in!
Dangerous I know. I was sick and so Erik was in charge of the boys on the 4th of July. You know it's been a fun day when you are this dirty and sweaty;)

The boys had a great time at the Westin Stonebriar.

Father's Day. Jacob wanted to wear Erik's dress shoes all morning.
Erik told me he really wanted new pillows for Father's Day...interesting request haha. The boys helped me with Erik's Father's Day "spread" complete with a bag of candy from the mall that they picked out!
