ONE PART WATER, THREE PARTS COLOR

i know, dont faint.. i have missed the heck out of seeing all your paintings and hearing about your lives.. but im running in 50 different directions and then some..LOL

have just started painting for reals, again this month. need to get with it cause im going to ted nuttall's workshop, next month.. sure dont want to be a bigger klutz, in class, than normal!! im so excited and nervous!!

this is a painting of my grandaughter taylor..i asked her and her brothers and cousin, to put on fun hats and pose for me.. so i can pratice practice practice.. i can see things i want to change already, so back to the painting board... need to pick two photos to use for the painting in class and this might be one...

mothers day is just around the corner and i wanted to give my daughter in a law a painting of her dad.. she doesnt see him much and he hasn't been feeling well... i took this picture on christmas, when he came up from mexico to visit.. i hope she is surprised and pleased...

also want to say hi to all of you.. i've misssed you all.. i've been painting .. but that is about it.. being the only driver in the house,now... has sure made a change in what i can find time to do... i'll adjust soon... but till then please know im stopping in when i can and trying to say hi as often as i can.. if i dont get back before mothers day.. please have a wonderful day!!

been missing in action a bit here and have missed saying hi.. so between weed pulling and cleaning house, thought i'd stop in and say a big HI!! first of all thanks to stephie for permission to use this wonderful photo... a lot of us on painting friends thought we give him a try... and the results were amazing... in pastels, watercolor, and oils etc..

was looking at following the masters blog.. http://followingthemasters.blogspot.com/ thanks michele!! and thought id like to try one... and so i foung judith on google.. well after painting i learn the real name is not judith.. but judith at a beheading of some sort... wow!! i sure know how to pick em!!! LOL.. i really like trying the masters challenges.. i struggle with darks and getting values right.. and with all the mud like stuff they put on their faces, i have to really do the darks and think about the values.. hope it sticks in my brain when i paint my paintings.. not the mud.. but that value lesson!! hee hee!!

if you're thinking of buying stock in something.. consider pastels!!LOL ever since desiree gave us, on painting friends.com, a couple outstanding videos on "how to enjoy, pastels". we have been buying them, like they are going out of style.. some how its just like wc.. you buy one and then you need another..lol i may need to go back to work to pay for my newest addition.. i love that fixing a mistake, is just a pastel stroke away..and you're off and running, again..:) being new to this..(my second one) the mistake fixing is at the top of the list of.. yippees!!

darn!! time is getting away from me and painting and blogging time, is almost non- existent!.. hubby lost his drivers lic last month.. i knew that was coming someday, just wasn't expecting it quite this soon.. we live in the county and its 20 minutes.. just to get a good head start on going any where.. yikes.!!. i'm turning into a taxi.. this is going to take some rearranging, to say the least..

thought i'd like to give it a try..it was the art of Robert Henri.. this one looked like something i could do with limited time available!.. not much hair or back ground detail.. my kinda' painting lol enjoyed painting her.. hey who am i kidding, i just enjoyed painting...

this week has been crazy around here..!!. but found a few minutes to try pastels, for the first time!! woo hoo!!... desiree,(http://myclothesline.blogspot.com/) taught us all on painting friends.com, how to do it!!! thank you desiree.. wonderful teacher!!...check out her blog and notice her christmas gifts, done in pastels!! WOW!!! we all have bandaged fingers, but are are smiling from ear to ear... and we are all aa little lighter in our pocketbooks lol "ooooooooohh gotta have it" is almost as bad as watercolor.!! after seeing her awesome pastels i had to try it.. ok happy with the pear, the glass was a bear..ARGGGGGH!!. but hey youve got to start somewhere, right?? LOL
