Happy Birthday Master Jedi

I can't believe my little baby is 5!!!! Here she is on her 1st Birthday and then again on her 5th! Wow. We had a great time celebrating her this week. We had a little family party on Monday and then with her friends on Saturday. Of Course, we had a star wars party and it was awesome. She said it was the best day ever and the smile on her face proves it. I love it :) We played pin the light saber on the jedi, had galactic pizza and yoda punch and attacked the death star followed by bounce house and zip line fun! Here are some pictures of her big day!

My new Go-To

CHEWY JUMBO CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Preparation time: 30 min Baking time: 10 min
Yield: 26 jumbo cookies

4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups Butter, softened
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 (12-ounce) package (2 cups) real semi-sweet chocolate chunks or chocolate chips

Heat oven to 375°F. Combine flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda in medium bowl; set aside.

Combine butter, sugar and brown sugar in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla. Continue beating, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Reduce speed to low. Beat, gradually adding flour mixture, until well mixed. Stir in chocolate chunks.

Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 14 minutes or until light golden brown. (DO NOT OVERBAKE.) Let stand 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to cooling rack.

For one reason or another my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe has left a bad taste in my mouth. i just couldn't enjoy them like i used to...so i have been searching for a new one and this is it!! I don't know about you but I never have luck with the one on the chocolate chip bag. They always end up flat and almost see thru. These definitely had some substance and we very tasty!

Good Eater

G is feeding himself these days and it is glorious!!! I have to admit while I love nursing my babes, I don't really enjoy the baby food stage. I would much rather interact with them while they are picking up noodles by themselves. So I am so excited that we are saying good bye to Gerber!!!! Love it Love it Love it! G eats what we eat now and this day it looks like we had...pppsssghetti. What do you think? Did he like it :)

Tickle Monster is goin' get you

Both of my boys are sooooo ticklish...C not so much. I think it annoys her more than anything. I think tickling is addictive. I just want to keep doing it! Would love to bottle that laughter.

Perler Bead Incident

You know those little beads that girls play with that are ohh so much fun. You put them on a board to make a design then fuse them together with an iron. Well, C loves to make things with those and she often doesn't remember to clean them ALL up. Not great with a crawling one yr old. I was messing with his mouth the other day and i look in there and see this...

I tried to get it off and couldn't get it off. I thought great here we go again. Going to have to back to the ER with another toy. It was just the perfect size to fit right over his bottom tooth. Crazy. I held him so he wouldn't choke on it and waited for Daddy to come home. He was already on his way and I held him and Daddy yanked it off. Gotta love Daddy's they sure are great. But perler beads, not great for one yr olds...

Nana Visit

Yeah!!!!! We had a very special visitor last week. The kids have been so excited about her coming and have talked about it every day for almost a month! She didn't disappoint them and everyone enjoyed her visit so much. I think we exhausted her, hope she comes again :) She wanted to come for little man's birthday. We even talked her into babysitting one night and we went out to dinner and saw Valentine's Day. Dinner & a movie in the same night...we didn't know what to do with ourselves!!!! We are so blessed to have parents who love our kids almost as much as we do :) Miss you already mom!

First Haircut

Before Pictures

During the makeover

Taaa Daaaa All Done :)

Well G got his first official haircut last week too! We wanted Nana to be able to participate in every thing she could :) He actually had a haircut around 9 months on accident... I took J to get a haircut and we were unsuccessfully trying our hand at potty training. After J was done I took him potty and left G in the stroller with the lady. When i came back out she was combing his hair and had a pair of scissors in her hand. I said, "Did you cut his hair!?" She said, "little bit" I didn't know whether to fly through the roof or thank her and run! I was so shocked, mad and sad. I just said, "Oh okay." Hello! This is a big deal and I didn't even get to see it let alone keep those tiny precious pieces of hair. Anywsys...I have forgiven her and moved on :) He did awesome this time and we had a crowd there to watch. I think his hair might be coming in really light, we'll see. All the cute little curls are gone in the back and he looks so grown up. I was starting to think he needed a bow to pin back those bangs!

A week full of Mister

Maybe since turning one is a BIG deal I will post every day this week about our favorite little baby :) So check back daily just this week :)

Little Man is ONE!

Mister G turned one this past week and I feel like his first year has flown by. What an incredible blessing he has been to our lives. Such an easy, happy baby. His favorites at one are patty cake, waving, mimicking sounds that we make at him, carrying a car around with him everywhere, wanting things he cannot have (phone, remote, J's toys), Abby Dog. He isn't walking yet but can cruise on anything and walk behind a toy. He just stopped nursing yesterday :( I am sad but am ready. We all had the stomach bug a few weeks ago and it definitely sped up the weaning process!! He loves his cup of milk and is finally sleeping through the night!!! He really is such a joy. Here are some pictures from his big day complete with a visit from his Nana. We had a small family party and lil man dug into his cupcake...i might have even given him two cupcakes he was enjoying it so much. He weighs 21 lbs (30%), 31 1/2 inches long (90%) and his head is 18 1/2 (90%). He's just a tall drink of water...but really does he have a choice :)
