School's out for Summer (and daddy's home)!

It has been a busy couple of weeks complete with an end of the year school program, last T-ball game and party, awards ceremony, church sundayschool party, birthday party.... well you get the picture... BUSY! Tim finished up his job in Missouri two weeks ago and began his fire training a week ago this past Tuesday (he should finsih up tonight). We are looking forward to having him home full-time again... though it will be an adjustment... primarily for him I'm sure... though I will say I will have to start cooking again and the laundry will be even more backed up than usual... but its worth it to have him home.

We are leaving on Sunday for our trip to Pensacola, FL. We are looking forward to the beach, ocean, pool and some family time. We will be meeting Jenny and her sweet family there and my parents are going down with us. Just think... 5 kids... five and under... wahooooo!

Tomorrow I'll try to post some pictures highlighting the past two weeks!

Busy Week...

So far this week has been a very busy week! It started on Monday when Tim was trying to get together all of the gear needed for Zac's first backpacking trip (Nate's 3rd)on Monday night. Our energetic Zac stood up in the baby jogger, which was sitting in the driveway, and it tipped over and he fell out and his head struck a big rock which resulted in lots of tears, blood, and terror! Luckily, after a quick trip to Arkadelphia to our pediatrician, it was determined that it was more of a puncture wound and since it was on the back of his head, it was decided best to not stitch or staple it but to just keep it clean and let it heal. Luckily there was no concussion either just a big goose egg. The doc said it was fine for him to go camping if he felt like it. So of course that is just what he did. Tim, Zac, and Nate hiked in about a mile or so to "Winding Stairs" a trail at Albert Pike. They filtered water, swam in the river, roasted hot dogs and marshmellows, and camped in a tent under the stars. The boys were exhausted by 7:30 and slept through the night! The were all so tired they didn't even hear the critter that got their food which was hanging in the tree!

I spent all day yesterday in Fort Smith finishing up a project there. I always enjoy my "work days" as it is fun to see different parts of the state and I even enjoy the long ride as it gives me time to think in silence!

Tomorrow is Nate and Zac's end of the year school program. Tim will be gone but Nanna and Papa Doc are coming for the mini production. Hopefully I can manage to get some pictures. And of course my sweet Ben is such a joy and getting bigger every single day! I'll try to post this weekend!

Happy Mother's Day!

To all of you mommys out there... Happy Mother's Day! Mine was spent "sleeping in until 7:00" when I awoke to a beautiful bouquet of hand-picked wildflowers and precious cards and 2 little boys chanting "Happy Mother's Day"! I spent the remainder of the morning and afternoon with my precious Ben and mom as we went to Little Rock to spend a couple of hours with my memaw/my mom's mom. She has really had a rough year so we were hoping to bring a little cheer her way this mother's day.... and like always, it was she who lifted our spirits with her courage and sweet smile. And of course sweet Ben brought smiles to everyone's face when we were visiting my memaw and papa. I then returned home to eat a yummy mother's day dinner with my men and we finished the wonderful day off with a leisurely stroll down the road looking for animal tracks, identifying wildflowers, while attempting to avoid mud puddles and chiggers. It was a beautiful evening and a perfect way to end a perfect day. To my mom... thank you for me and for giving me my best friend, my sister... to my mother-in-law.... thank you for my wonderful husband! I love you all and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
