You want some of this?!

Let's see if I can re-tell this story in all it's glory:
First, the background.  Bailey has been upset the last week or so that his friends who come and play everyday are listening to Emma more than him.  Well, this is definetly not the case since Emma comes in crying many a day about the boys not playing with her.  Apparently, when Bailey tries to ride Emma's bike, Malachi and Isaac try to get it back for Emma.  Well, they only do this because as soon as Emma sees Bailey riding the bike, NOW she wants it.  So Ben told Bailey to not give it up and just tell them to basically "back off." I guess this is boy speak as girls do not play this way and remain friends, but for boys it's nothing, just being assertive.  Today, Bailey comes in crying because again, his friends are trying to take the bike.  He says he did exactly what his dad said and it didn't work.  I told him to keep trying until it does and that it isn't anything to really cry about and sent him back outside.  About ten minutes later, Emma comes running back inside shouting "Bailey is going to give Malachi and Isaac a black eye!!!! He's chasing after them with a mean look on his face!!!"   I told her no he wasn't, Emma and go back outside.  Then, a few minutes go by and Isaac comes in "Bailey is going to give us bloody noses and a black eye."  Hmmm, dilemma at this point, because I knew Bailey could not physically do this, nor did he really know what that meant doing.  Although if something did happen, then....  Well, since I was dealing with a puking Nathan, I opted for the "work it out" answer.  And that's what they did--no black eyes or bloody noses.  It instead turned into a wrestling game on the grass.  They were all laughing and taking turns fighting each other.  (I did check through the window just to make sure)  Bailey was as proud as a peacock when he came back inside and before he went to bed, proudly proclaiming that no one was going to mess with him.  Thankfully, the Morgan boys also know that no one messes with them either and they aided Bailey in progressing in his boyhood:)  No children were harmed in the making of this lesson.....

Our Wonderful Saturday

Yesterday, Ben didn't reeealllly have to study, so we took a day off!  Emma had a birthday party in the morning, and we hung out together and Ben worked in the garden and backyard.  We picked up two bumbo seats off of craigslist for way too good of a deal and the girls are loving them...

Outside, hanging out in the shade.

This is what I did while watching the kids ride bikes.  I must say, no matter if you are a fan of Dr. Laura or not, I am enjoying this book.  It's called "In Praise of Stay-at-Home-Moms." My friend lent it to me and I'm about half way through.  Emma took this picture of me:)

Emma enjoying her hand me down bike from Bailey

Nathan is a true maniac on wheels.  I'm hoping to get good video of him soon.

Kate and Addison pondering what Daddy is reading. (He's reading about the best place to plant our garden)

More Pictures of us!

I love this picture of me and Addison.

Family Pictures...What is your pick?

So, the story of getting our family picture taken... Well, let's just say that now it will probably not be for a very long time!  Our kids are just in that stage (mostly Nathan) where they are not so interested in me getting that perfect shot.  Here are my two favorites (thanks, Stephanie who could even capture these!)  Which do you like better? Leave a comment...

White Trash Jammies

Ben modified these pjs for Nathan.  It's all about making your clothes work for every season, right?

As for the reason he has a jump rope in his mouth, I cannot answer that one!

She's a Smooth Operator....or 'Aint Nothin' But a Gold Digga...

OK, so old picture of Emma.  But, I remember this day-I bought her the crown for Halloween and she insisted on wearing it throughout the entire mall and all day.  We all know Emma likes the finer things in life....
WELLLLLLL....
Today, when I picked the kids up from school, Emma told me she found some money on the play ground.  She said it was five cents.  I thought she found a quarter or something until she held up a $5 bill.  I hadn't yet left the parking lot, so I pulled into a space.  After asking her a few more questions, I learned that she did not "find" it on the play ground, but little J Oliver gave it to her.  Apparently, since there is a Book Fair at school, many of the kids are coming with money.  Emma was upset that she didn't have any so J Oliver gave her his money so she wouldn't be sad.  Luckily, my brother had come with me to pick up the kids so he stayed in the car while we took the money back to J Oliver and I told him he was very sweet but he should keep his own money.  Emma was of course upset, but we had a talk about not taking money from people.  *Sigh* At five, already getting boys to pay for stuff for her...

If Ben Dies, I will kill him...

Went to Church by myself with all five kids today. I lived to tell the story.  So, here it is.

Ben started his one week, all day class today.  This meant I had to brave the three hours of Church on my own with the kids.  As I woke Nathan up to put him in the car for Church, I had a thought of how much nicer it would be if I just let him sleep and we all stayed home.  But a little solo flying never scared me before.  I mean, I can grocery shop with all five, so what's Church?!

I was quite the sight walking in.  I was walking with Bailey and Emma, had Addison in the sling, Kate in the carrier, and Nathan by the collar.  I think that's the real reason for dress shirts.  I got lots of let me know when you need helps from everyone as we walked in.  I told them, sure I'd let them know.  But in reality, when you are in the middle of Church, you can't call out and say "Hey, you over a few rows, will you take a few kids?"  Thankfully, my friend, Tana was sitting behind me.  Her husband had stayed home with their youngest, and her mom was there visiting.  So, when Kate and Addison wanted bottles at the same time and Nathan needed to be wrangled that very minute, she jumped in.  We had a few back and forths, trading out twins for one who would be still with her, and then before I knew it, it was time for Primary.

Again, I was quite the sight, walking down the hall with Addison in the sling, Kate in one arm, Nathan by the top of his head this time and Bailey and Emma falling in line.  I got the first three dropped off, and then headed back in to the Chapel to get my bag so I could head back into Primary to get my secretary stuff done.  Another friend of mine, Tonya, took Kate for both the second and third hour, and Addison was generally a good sport.

In shifts we made it back out to the car, and then back home.  We were all in one piece.  But now, my arms hurt, my back hurts (hint to Ben if he reads this tonight!) and I think next time we'll just go to my mother in laws ward:)

Hansel and Gretel Eat Right

We just got back a little bit ago from Emma's class play.  When we got home, we did a quick lunch for Nathan, then down for nap.  The twins ate some rice cereal and I just got them down as well.  So, with the hour and a half we have left before we have to head back out to school, I am using some of it to blog-so useful!!

Emma played an Elf who eats fruit...

Considering the theme of the play, this was one of the better parts for her.  She does eat fruit, so she didn't have to lie:)  The elves were so "cute, cute, cute" because they ate their "fruit, ute, ute"

The premise of the play was Hansel and Gretel run away because they don't want to eat the things their parents want them to.  Along the way, they meet exercise bunnies, hygienic raccoons, a compost pile (yes, a compost pile!), birds who love varieties of food, squirrels who encourage non preservative eating, and eventually the witches who have a house made out of everything junk and bad for you, including soap made out of Cheetos.  Emma LOVES the witches song, and gets very giddy as they sing about a house made entirely of snacks.  But, alas, by the time Hansel and Gretel make their way to the witches house, they realize that they want to eat their parent's good food.
Do you think Emma learned her lesson?

Yes, that's a brownie, a rice crispy treat and a chocolate chip muffin...
But, hey, that was what they served after this informative play:)

The Best Face Ever

Seriously, can this be any funnier?
Here are the others I took after our 2nd time this week having Spaghetti.  Ben has been studying for finals, so I bought a big jar of Ragu.  A few nights this week I made noodles and then just heated up the sauce and VOILA! a meal all my kids will eat.  As you can see from the pictures below, Emma was showing off how she had eaten everything off her plate.  She was so proud of herself...

Emma does not eat sauce, just noodles. But it fills her up and she eats a few helpings.

Here she shows us exactly how you put food in your mouth...Fascinating:)
I have no idea why they crouched down, but they thought it was funny.

For the Record

The ticker will not show up when we have the blog printed. There are only 7 months of law school left.  Ben takes his last Spring final tomorrow night.  Summer will fly by, and hopefully so will this last semester!  It's all downhill from here, smooth sailing, coasting along.... Ok, so not really, but 7 months!!  I just think a big sigh and Yay! is in order.

More Twin Pictures

So, no I don't usually dress them alike, but in jammies sometimes I do.  Mostly because I want them to both be the exact same amount of warm (weird, I know!)  I would feel badly if one was colder or warmer than the other, but how do you regulate?!  You don't, so jammies are usually matching.  Here they are and they look very much alike in this picture.  They were "watching" Elmo with Nathan on the couch.

Here is how they ended up while I was getting ready for play group this morning...
Originally, Kate was much further from Addison, but scooted over to her and fell asleep.  I hope they like each other this much when they are older.  We have no more room for girl drama! :)

You might find this disturbing...

But oh, well, it must be documented!!!!!  So, as I may have mentioned in previous posts, Nathan cannot take a bath because no matter what, he poops in the tub!  Yup, even if he just went.  We give it a few months, try again, and every time Bailey or Emma (whoever is with him in the tub) runs screaming from the bathroom while Nathan stands there crying.  He cannot help himself.  We don't know if it is the warm water or the laying on his stomach when he plays.  He always takes a shower in our bathroom because that has never produced any unwanted drama.  Well, that all ends tonight.  If you don't want to look, then close this and move on with your day...

Apparently, Emma said Nathan tried to get out and go sit on our toilet.  But he didn't make it and left this lovely present on our bath mat.  I mainly took the picture to email to Ben while he is studying because I didn't want him to miss out on all the fun we were having here at home:)  But, now our blogging friends also get to enjoy.  Aren't you glad?

Almost forgot!

The kids made these in Primary today for me.  They were asked questions about some of my favorites/not favorites...

Thanks to Kristen, who put all of these together for all the moms of children in Primary.
Oh, and the best Mother's Day treat of all--the twins slept from 9 p.m. to 10:30 a.m.  They are finally true Oram sleepers.  We moved them into Emma's room Friday night (well, I did when Ben was studying at school) and they have slept perfectly ever since:)

Mother's Day!

Ben had no meetings for Church today (woo-hoo! It's been a good three years since he's been home for an entire Sunday morning).  So, we stayed up late last night and watched Bride Wars.  I got a bit teary at the end of it:)  Bailey, Emma and Nathan got up on their own and ate Trix for breakfast.  I was woken up by the three kids wishing me a happy mother's day and giving me a card, a present and a Snicker's Almond bar!  My present was a new watch.  Well, I don't know if new is the right word, since I haven't owned a watch since Swatches were cool.  Unless you count the time an old boyrfriend gave me one, and then we broke up soon after and I returned it and took the money to pay off my Target credit card bill...
Anyway, the point is, it is time to grow up and wear a watch instead of relying on my cell phone which has been dying too many times on me anyway!

Ben made me a very yummy ham, eggs, and cheese with sourdough toast.  He also made dinner tonight as well.  Having him home this morning was so relaxing and fun.  We hung out with the kids, and probably enjoyed the idea of 1 p.m. Church:)

The pictures below are random, but fun to share.

Taking care of a not so happy and tired Nathan- Yay for Daddy!:)
Because this is what Nathan looked like just prior. Can you tell he needs to go to bed!

Bailey doing I don't know what...

Emma's New Meal

If anyone does not know, just for clarification, Emma will barely eat ANYTHING!  Well, anything that isn't sweet is always a battle.  Most family dinners end in her being hungry and having to wait until breakfast the next morning where she downs two packets of oatmeal (with brown sugar, of course!)  Tonight, I had to get out the camera when Emma made this....

What is it, you ask?!  A Hamburger bun (no meat!) with American cheese, ketchup and apples.
She was so proud of her meal:

And even though it wouldn't stay together,  she still tried to eat it anyway.

I don't get it, but it's Emma, so who does, right?!

Mother's Day with the Red Room!

Today, Bailey's class had a Mother's Day Tea.  Each second grader made a hat for his mom.  Mine is beautiful, of course-see pictures below.  Each mom is supposed to save her hat for next year, and third graders make mother's day pins.  I'll have to find a good spot for my hat!  At least next year I can coordinate with it.  I took some pictures of it so you can see the fine handiwork and craftsmanship!  Bailey was so excited for today.  The class sang a "preview" song from their upcoming production in June about bugs.  Bailey also got to help close the performance by thanking everyone.  He served me a wonderful spread of water, fruit and muffins.  His classmates helped chase Nathan around and made sure he didn't run outside.  They were so careful to watch him, and followed him around like puppies.  All the moms got their baby fix holding Kate and Addison.  So did the girls in Bailey's class.  We had a wonderful morning and Nathan discovered he loves raspberry lemon muffins...Daddy will be proud.

On a side note, I had the "joy" of sitting at the gluten free wheat free table.  No, it wasn't assigned as that, it was a wonderful coincidence.  These moms only ate the fruit and not the muffins.  I was offered a chocolate, gluten free, wheat free cookie by one of the moms.  She had brought her own treat in anticiption.  I probably should not have responded "What's the point?!"  She was a bit taken aback, and so I immediately took one and said "mmmm, um not bad"  Well, it wasn't terrible, but really, what is the point of gluten free, wheat free chocolate?!  I'd rather suffer.  The table then went on to discuss and swap recipies for bread, and some kind of noodles made out of rice!?  I laughed to myself as I thought of my upcoming baking of pumpkin bread this afternoon.  Lots o'butter, eggs, sugar and nothing free about it!  Now, that's food!

Bailey, Nathan and I posing. You can't see the details of the hat here, so enjoy below!

Bailey's class.  I love his look here-classic Bailey when he's excited and nervous.  He tried to hold back a smile through the entire song.

The full view.  Love it!

Jump!

Leena, Niki and Johanna came over yesterday to give us some hand me downs for Kate and Addison.  Nathan and Leena are great buddies and had a great time on the trampoline!  Here are some cute pics of the two of them.
