Halloween 2010

Since Halloween fell on a Sunday (again!, ug) We celebrated last night with our regular traditions and trunk or treat at our old ward (crazy to say "old" ward already since we just left last week!)

This tradition has evolved, but we always have pizza on Halloween.  About five years ago or so, Papa Murphy's came out with a Jack O Lantern pizza.  Since then we always go there to get it.
Tigger, Eeyore, Ballerina Witch, Pooh Bear and SWAT commander

Kate makes the perfect Pooh Bear, all round and cuddly and loves sweets.
No one is bouncier than Nathan!
Bailey saw this costume and HAD To have it.  He is obsessed with cops/guns/cool tactical stuff. Lately he and Ben have been watching FBI and Secret Service documentaries together.
I "made" her pick this.  It was on sale for 3.99 online, advertised on one of my coupon blogs. So I bought it and then told her it was coming in the mail.  Good thing she liked it.  However, I have been around long enough to know how to convince my children that something was sort of their idea...
Addison didn't want to get her individual picture taken.  We found out today she has a huge tooth coming through.  I thought she was just really good at being Eeyore!
At the trunk or treat after they made rounds.  Nathan was looking to see what was in his bag
Finally, some pics from semi happy Addy.

 Emma and Emma
Madelyn Morgan.  She was just really cute, so I had to take a picture
Here they are together, little buddies since birth.

Bailey and his friend Sean.  He had been waiting for him all night.

We had a great (tiring) time getting all the loot.  And now, as we stay home today the kids are excited to get back in their costumes and pass out candy to the trick or treaters.  Little do they know all that candy they are passing out was what they scored last night.  Hee Hee.

School Pics and More

These are hot off the press today! Uncle Curtis works for the company that takes the pictures for the kid's school so we get to see them (and get them emailed!) the same day.
I don't think it is wrong to think your daughter is beautiful:) We planned her hair last night and prepped it for today.  I made sure her favorite outfit was washed even though you don't see it in the picture.  I will probably never have the patience to grow out my hair again, so I live through Emma and her luxurious locks.
Such the grown up now! So many fun/interesting stories with Bailey lately.  I haven't blogged them and not sure I will.  But he is a really good kid and he still loves us a lot, so we're on the right track!

All of the kids are watching Neverending Story 2 right now.  Well, K and A are sort of watching/playing.  Here are the latest pics of the three little ones

Nathan thought it was funny to be handcuffed.  He's sporting his tom Cruise look in a dress shirt, underwear and socks.
Kate came into the kitchen to show me that she and Addy were holding hands. I think she wanted her picture taken (she has me figured out pretty well by now).

The other night I really needed to get the house picked up and had looming homework.  Both were starting to stress me out and nothing was getting done in a house full of kids who I cannot justify putting to bed at 5:30.  Then, this caught my eye..

I thought how cute Kate's curls dried after bath and I needed to get a picture.  One thing led to another, and all the kids ended up in the little one's bedroom insisting they get a picture taken too.

Sad Addy face.  She usually gets picked up and cuddled when this comes out.

Nathan and his ginourmous grin.

I love her crazy hair.  She has such a wild personality it just fits. She made me take the picture twice (this is the repeat) because the first one she did "crazy eyes"

Heeeeyyyyyyy...
Bailey's cool pose

Then they wanted a group picture.

She can't help the crazy eye pose:)
Then they insisted I had to be in the pictures too.

Nice, huh? Well they decided to start attacking me during the pictures.

Instead of homework and cleaning, we sang songs and played in their room.  Much better idea:)

One of the songs I taught them was Finger Family. I was preparing myself for the point when we got to Toby Tall:)  Because basically you are waving your two middle fingers all around.  Bailey and Emma didn't have a clue, thank goodness and there all of us were waving our middle fingers around. It was quite the sight.  A lot of kids their age have already grown accustomed to using that finger on a regular basis. I am glad my children are still so innocent!

Where we live

Well, where we spend almost every afternoon...
Our neighborhood park.  We walk/ride bikes there almost every afternoon and now it is so much a part of the routine that the kids have a terrible afternoon if we don't go.

Yup, the babies come everywhere with us, including the park, on the slide, in the swings...

Nathan rides this to the park, and then spends half the time riding it around the park.

Accidentally matched her to her baby's pants today!

It takes her at least 15 minutes to venture from my lap when we get to the park.

The boys love to play in the creek down below, catching nasty stuff and all that boy fun.  Well, Emma usually joins them but she was at a birthday party today.
 Look what I caught, Mom..
It's a tadpole, in case you couldn't tell.  He then released it back into the creek.

 Twin cuteness

And my birthday continues...

Since we moved over the weekend that my birthday actually fell on, we went on a belated overnight trip(without kids!) to Squaw Valley Resort in Tahoe.

It was beautiful up there-the perfect combo of cold and warm.  Our next door neighbors at the hotel included a crying baby and an early rising toddler, but apart from that fun, we really did have a very relaxing time.

On the way back, we went around Lake Tahoe and stopped along the road to get out and look around.

As you can, see, Ben is the one up high and near the edges, while I am at a safe distance away.  I did climb around on rocks and things, which for me is saying a lot.
