Va-ca-tion

So we are lucky and have three weeks off from school (well, the kids do-I go back Monday, ick).  We are pretty boring this vacation but boring isn't bad.  Here are the latest random pictures...

Addison has learned how to climb out of her crib.  She has only done it officially once, and a few times gotten as far as this picture shows.  But she is capable, which is really no fun for me in the future.

Nathan thought it would be funny to have the track run over the cat's tail...

Hopefully these videos work right.  I cannot tell until I post them :(
And we have been enjoying Emma's new Wii game... The video is dark, but Nathan is pretty good at it. These videos don't do much for proving the kid doesn't live in underwear

**Warning** I Don't Want to Be a Sunbeam

**This post has an embarrassing/slightly inappropriate picture of Nathan that has been blurred for your safety...  :)

This Sunday was Nathan's last day in the Nursery at Church.  We were talking to him about it and he kept saying "Oh No, I am NOT going to be a Sunbeam!"  He is supposed to move up to regular Primary next week into the Sunbeam class.  Nathan has other plans, so we will see how it goes.  Ben and I finally realized that he just doesn't want to move on in maturity in anything.  He doesn't want to poop on the toilet, etc...  However, if it involves riding a big boy bike, well he will do that!

We told him to get dressed for bed, which he has the ability to do. And he came out like this...

And then we told him to get his night time diaper and he ran back in and laid down like this...

Rolling back and forth holding his legs back and giggling.  Really, Nathan?!

So the next Nathan blog post just might be about his Sunbeam resistance.  I am picturing him now shouting "Oh no, I will NOT!" as they try to guide him into the "reverent" Primary room.  Then, in his final resistance he will strip down and start running around shouting "I have a penis!"  Think that's outlandish? With Nathan, anything is possible.

It's Christmas Time in the Country...

More and more we are realizing that we are living among the country folk.  Especially when you tell people your husband works Downtown and they say "Oh, how nice he works in Lincoln!"  Um, no Downtown Sacramento...  We never knew Downtown Lincoln was an actual hub.  But we do enjoy living here, the neighbors and our new ward.  We had a very relaxing Christmas, just as it should be.

On Christmas Eve, we went to Red Robin and then home for pjs and Polar Express

The kids after baths and showers, waiting patiently for their new Christmas Jammies.

Opening them up and showing them off
 Addison getting some help
Minnie Mouse for Kate, Princess for Addison
Emma LOVED her rainbow leopard footed pajamas!

Nathan showing his excitement for his black camouflage pajamas
 Group couch shot!
Addison didn't want a take two

Christmas Morning, we were the first awake.  Yes, the children all slept in until 8 a.m. and we had to wake up Bailey and Emma once Nathan and the twins woke up.

 Opening stockings
The twins waiting for their presents
Boys opening up their Nerf rifles

The girls really loved to open things, even if they still don't understand why
New kitty cats and princess dolls
Emma has been asking for a real cat, so we got her a Fur Real one
Bailey opening his Call of Duty posters
We kept having to tell Nathan to stop opening everything.  That was his favorite part and he didn't care whose present it was
Bailey's expression opening up Call Of Duty: Black Ops
Addison wasn't too excited about her presents
But she did love the boy's presents.  Guess we should have gotten her a gun too.

After our extended family activities, I was able to go visit my friend's new baby in the hospital.  She delivered at Sutter Roseville where I have given birth to four out of the five, and I always love going there to visit.  I wasn't bitten by the baby bug, as I am glad to be moving on to the next stages.  However, I really like being reminded of when my children were born.  I hate being pregnant, but loved giving birth.  I especially liked sleeping in the hospital bed that I could adjust and having them bring me food and drink whenever I wanted it.  Now how can I work it to spend a few nights in the hospital without having to be pregnant again or have a major illness?!

Light Lookin'

We ventured out to Rocklin to look at their Christmas lights again this year.  I forgot the camera, but Bailey remembered his, so these are courtesy of Bailey Oram Photography.
Nathan kept talking to EVERYTHING. "Hello, lights" Hello, Santa!"
It was not as crowded as when we went last year and we were able to park a lot closer and walk around.  Most of the lights were Disney themed.  Although someone did have the Twilight characters on their roof?!

The kids had a great time and maybe, just maybe we will actually let Kate and Addison get out and walk next year.  I realized that they usually enjoy every family experience from the stroller.

The Attack of the Giggly Girls

Last Friday, Emma had a few friends over for a slumber party to celebrate her birthday.
 A Pillow Pet!
oooh, aaahhh (you hear a lot of this at little girl parties)

Taylor (next door neighbor), Isabelle (school BFF), Emma, Emma T. (old ward BFF) and Amanda (also next door neighbor)

They ate crepes, watched a Mary Kate and Ashley movie with popcorn, played make believe games and squealed a lot.  I thought Ben was going to die from girl overload:)
They all squeezed into Emma's room and their giggles subsided as they slept soundly.  Emma had a great time and we survived too!

Run, Run as Fast as you can

Ready, Set...

GO!

Some days we entertain ourselves with whatever sounds fun.

Triple Party Time

We celebrated Kate, Addison, and Emma's birthdays on Monday night with family.

It took a while to get Addison into the present opening thing.

 Kate got right into it.

Emma is a pro at opening gifts
I think I was more excited about the tutus with leggings than the girls but they will thank me for that enthusiasm some day.
There were lots of Dora presents, which made them both excited.  Although, then all we would hear was "Look, Dora!" "Look, Dora!"
Kate knows where a crown goes!
Addison was overwhelmed, but loved her presents too.
We had to pry them away to get them to the cake table.  I made double stacked heart cakes for each girl with frosting.

Blowing out the candle.
Dora-fied!  Dora slipper, Dora doll, Dora backpack

These two HAVE to have the same thing as each other or else fights break out! Now our house is filled with two of everything, but I'll take it over the hair pulling.
Kate thought she had to keep her shoulders scrunched to hold her back pack on.
Modeling their presents.
