First Day of School!

Ready for the first day of school. 6th grade, 3rd grade and my little Kindergartener.

The boys did not object when I asked if they wanted to wear matching uniforms. They actually were excited about it. Bailey has decided that he is going to teach Nathan to be exactly like him. He has been showing him how to do things the Bailey way with everything from how to properly clear your plate from the table to what order to take off your clothes getting in the shower.

6th grade! Wow time went fast. Bailey is super excited for this year. He loves anything about getting older.

Oh man...what do I say about this little girl? Even posing for pictures her personality comes through and she has a lot of it. She is mainly only excited for school because of her friends:)

He was up, dressed, breakfast eaten, snack packed, teeth brushed and ready by 7:20 a.m. Poor kid had to wait an entire hour after that for school to even start. He has been looking forward to Kindergarten for FOREVER!!

Purple has been the color focus for Nathan for a long time. He is following his older sibling's footsteps and is in the purple room. He has the same teacher (well one of them) that both Bailey and Emma had. She's know this kid since he was in my belly.

Kate and Addison are the lone children at home. They always love when they can play on the school playground though. And now they are counting down the days until Purple Room (I think I might be too)

Nathan and Rayce. These boys are in different classes this year, but have already planned to eat lunch together every day and let no one else sit by them apparently.

Lining up to go to class. His grin was this huge until...

He had to go in and sit down. The worried look started to creep in a bit at this point. He kept glancing at me as if to say "Um, we are really doing this now aren't we?"

Emma found her friends quickly and asked for a group pic.

Here's to a new school year!

Winding down from summer

We took some our friends, the Phillips, to Six Flags (minus the three youngest). It was so hot in Sac, but the perfect weather there. Emma decided to make a pringle and popcorn sandwich.
Ian making a duck face with Pringles. (FYI this is the boy Emma has a little crush on-so cute!)
I realized I had been taking more pictures of my house than my kids so the girls posed for these. They love to play dress up together lately.

I am super proud of this. I have been wanting to make this for a long time. Come Thou Fount is a special song in our house and when I saw this take on it on Pinterest I knew I had to make it.

We went to Clementine Lake today to say one last good bye to summer, since school starts next week.

On the way home, Emma decided to take some pictures...

 pretending to text
 Everyone was tired!

So now we are ready for school to start!

Tumbling 101

I bought two certificates on Living Social for the twins. They REALLY wanted to do dance, but there were no classes available for their age when we could go. So we started tumbling. They love it!

They still wanted to wear the ballet leotards I found at a yard sale.

The class also starts to teach basic cheer

 Just cute!
This picture shows off their personalities so well

 Balancing on the beam
We have three more weeks of this and they are excited to go back. Right now they are the only two in the class so we really lucked out.

New Brighton Beach

We went camping with the Morgans and Thompsons again this year (and the Andersons who we met for the first time once we go there). It's been two years since our last camping adventure as multi families. The kids are all now at a much easier age. Plus if you climb a tree to install a rope swing they are super easily entertained.
This was the first thing set up at camp.
Kate, Chloe and Addison- the cutest three amigos ever
Father and Son-their super ecstatic happy faces
 Abby and Emma
Kate and Abram toom a DVD break at one point. It didn't last long and they were all back out playing in the dirt shortly after
Emma in heaven with hot chocolate

It always amuses me how happy Addison is out in the dirt or on the beach
 Kids around the campfire
It was COLD there at night. But beautiful during the day
Ralph and baby Lucas. This was the quietest and easiest baby I have ever seen.

 Nathan lived on the swing
 Kate and Chloe sword fighting
Bailey tending the fire.

My kids LOVE the beach. It is the one place they all have something to do and will entertain themselves for hours. Our campground was just above the beach so it was a short stair descent at any time.

The kids all dug for sand crabs

Madelyn buried in the sand

So Jennifer has these naturally buff arms that always amaze me. I think it's because she used to break dance:)
Tana getting some sun. Apparently she didn't want her face on camera

So let me explain...
At first glance this picture looks way inappropriate. However, let me explain. After breakfast one morning, we found this baby on the table with a sausage lying next to her. It looked as though some kid had tried to get out of eating it by giving it to the baby doll. So we decided to take a picture. But it looked funnier to us if the baby was actually holding it. Hence the hairband....But you probably had to be there to find it funny so oh well:)

I had no idea how Addison remembered to pack her sunglasses. But she wore them around almost the whole time.
The kids went on a treasure hunt that ended in candy and eating it kept them busy for a while.

Every year I get a picture of Jarrod sleeping in a chair...

The girls started a "Handsome Salon" to do the boys hair

Checking to make sure the girls didn't make them look silly

I didn't get any pictures of the Boardwalk, but that might be for the best. We'll just erase that craziness from our trip memory. We are looking forward to next year!
