For a long time now, Nathan has had issues with his bowels. It's been fun let me tell ya'. After finally convincing a doctor he had something wrong, he has to be on a stool softener every day to prevent constipation issues. The doctor also insisted we go to a therapist specializing in, well...poop and kids who can't do it all that well. I don't know how he puts that on his business cards. So we went...begrudgingly I went...
The doctor makes up this character called Sneaky Poo who Nathan has to fight against. Nathan's job is to not let him win and end up in his pants, because Sneaky Poo hates to be in the toilet (seriously...)
The doctor kept asking Nathan how he was going to beat Sneaky Poo and Nathan, being Nathan had many ideas:
-kick him in the head
-throw my shoe at him
-punch him in the face
-make a dragon breath fire on him and kill him
-have Superman come and distract Sneaky Poo so that the dragon could breathe fire on him
The therapist kept trying to get Nathan to make a connection to the toilet, and it didn't seem to be working (in my opinion). But lo and behold the last few days Nathan has been drawing pictures about Sneaky Poo and telling me he wasn't going to let him win! (as he sits on the toilet)
Unfortunately, there is a good chance all of Nathan's journal entries at school will involve stories about a large piece of crafty poop. Fortunately, this might actually be working. Although I don't quite buy it yet because really?! a story about evil poop makes him not be constipated...yeah not so sure. But I'll take it for now.
And you are all welcome this post has no pictures.
Parting joke:
Therapist: Oh, you are really going to get that Sneaky Poo, Nathan!
Nathan: I'm gonna make him cry.
Therapist: Really? What color are his tears?
Nathan: Brown.
(You are welcome.)

In Other News Not Involving Poop
I was about to write a post all about Nathan's poop issues ( to be explained in the next post!) and thought before I do that we should have something a little less um...involving poop.
I am already starting to prep for....
GIRL's CAMP!
For our activity this last week, we had a camp reunion where we watched a DVD I made of the week and played a game. I didn't take the picture of Justin Bieber with all the Post its all over him but here he is with the Armor of God:) The game used the armor as a Jeopardy type board. All of the questions related to camp, aspects of the armor or were just for fun. Now to start planning for July:)
I was able to drive on Emma's field trip to the B street Theatre. Emma loves getting dressed up in anything other than her school uniform so this field trip is one of her favorites.
Kate taught herself to write her own name the other day. She did this while I was cooking dinner.
Addison couldn't be left out, so I wrote her name and this is her copying it. I don't know if I can quite grasp that they are this old yet?!
At the doctor today. Poor things thought they were going in because Kate had a bad rash. Apparently, I had forgotten to do their 4 year old physical and they were due for shots...so they got two in the legs. I am never very sad about shots, but this was hard for even me. First, because I forgot to even bring them in for them and second because they both not only got upset during their own shots but also when the other one had a turn.
If music be the food of love, play on...
I've mentioned before that this little cutie is in love...at times he has 3 girls who are on his radar, but there has been one in particular since school started---Eliana.
Nathan talks about her a lot, writes her little love notes and insists they hold hands at lunch. We recently found out that he also likes to give her jewelry. It isn't 100% his fault, as he has little sisters who come up with brilliant ideas. We now go to a loosely based on reality conversation between Addison and Nathan.
Nathan (with dreamy eyes): I love Eliana. She is so beautiful.
Addison: You love her? Then I must love her too because you, Nathan, as my brother mean the world to me.
Nathan: I think I might have to poop...
Addison: Nathan, focus! To win Eliana's love you must give her a gift.
Nathan: Bagels with cream cheese are always nice. I could give her some of my lunch.
Addison: No, Nathan! A real gift. Like this beautiful bracelet I am wearing that grandma gave me for Christmas.
Nathan: Oooohhh shiny!
Addison: But she won't want this one... Hmmmm....where can we find one just like this that isn't on my wrist?
Nathan: Ummm. I really think I have to poop.
Addison: I know! Take Kate's! She would love it if Eliana had her bracelet. I know she would because I am her twin and I only want her to be happy.
Nathan: Cool. Now I really have to poop, excuse me.
So somewhere in between this conversation and the other day, Nathan gave the bracelet to Eliana. I got in touch with her mom and we are in the process of finding it and getting it back. Her mom let me know that love grows just as strong in their house, as Eliana has told her mom she is going to marry Nathan someday.

TILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am in love with my floor. I admit it! There is nothing like living on concrete to make you appreciate some nice flooring. For a refresher of what our house has looked like, here are the pictures we took right before we moved in.
And from my demolition of the carpet
The night before install:
And the After Shots!!
It is really nice to be able to clean the floors and they look good. I think I've swept more in the last 48 hours than the last 4 months (shhh don't tell Ben...)
Where to Begin in the Beginning
Yet another blog post of random pictures! So to follow the advice of Julie Andrews, let's start at the very beginning...it's a very good place to start...
Every year right after Christmas, we get to join the extended family for something that involves spending the Christmas money Grandpa Bailey sent for all of us. This year we headed to Strikes. Can I just say thank goodness for bumpers:)
I'm wondering if he will look back on his pictures and say "Was I always like that?!" Yes, Nathan you were. And probably will always be!
In case I haven't mentioned it a million times already, Emma has very very narrow criteria for food consumption. Most things are white with no flavor or loaded with chocolate and sugar. She begs all the time for these pink pancakes. I think at least once a week or so she will ask for them. They aren't just something I can whip up because they need beet puree and ricotta. I finally told her what was in them and she thought it was so funny she was eating beets. She let me know that she must of course like beets. Well who knew:)
Just the other day we met up with Melanie and Arianna for some park fun. It was cold! But of course we need another picture of all the girls together. There is a good chance these four will be in transitional kindergarten together this next school year. Melanie found out that her school district has an all day (9:10-2:10) program for kids who miss the cutoff for Kinder. They are rarely full and take transfers from other districts. I can't even wrap my head around no kids at home during the day.
Kate riding her bike at my mom's house. Who doesn't ride a power wheel in sunglasses and sequins?
When we stayed at my mom's house (another post coming about our new tile!) I joined in a monopoly game and blew everyone away. Good to know I still got it.
This little munchkin freaked us out the other night. She hadn't shown any sign of illness but woke up not able to breathe very well and crying. Ben took her to the ER and it was only croup. We've never seen croup come on like that in the middle of the night without warning and without coughing. The doctor was surprised as well, but with a nice steroid and a breathing treatment she was back at home and has been fine ever since.
My dad took Nathan to see the live show of How to Train Your Dragon. He was a tiny bit excited.
He still wears the hat around and carries the sword and shield. He also thinks those dragons were real. Oh to live in Nathan's world!
In other Nathan news, he started soccer through parks and rec. It's in the evening once a week for the next 8 weeks. He had come home asking to play tball with a flier from school. He didn't stop asking for days, and so by then I guess you have to pay attention to the kid! We realized that by this age Bailey had done two seasons of soccer, as well as karate and tball. Emma had done ballet and gymnastics. Even the twins got to do a four week tumbling class! Poor Nathan, the forgotten middle child has never done anything. We thought soccer would be a better fit for him.
He was hilarious! Such the little ball of energy even in the cold. The coach had to tell him at one point to stop kicking it in circle and try going straight. He's actually not bad for never having played.
New garage shelves are in! This should be in my home improvement post coming up but I only have a few pictures of this and no before shots.
Ben the Builder.
