The home stretch

Once I finish this post, I will have caught up completely! If I can do this, I can do anything, right?
Before we moved, Emma and Kirby had a blast decorating socks for the ward Sock Hop. They both won best socks!
 Seriously. That's all.
So...the snake. Well, Sunday after we had been in the new house a week, the doorbell rang. There was a hunched over USPS worker holding out a package and staring at the corner of our porch. Ma'am, you have a snake there. What?! With frantic calls up to Ben, we managed to keep our sanity together. He...took care of the snake. Basically, he broke it's neck and taped it up in a box and threw it in the trash can. Hopefully no one is offended at his man gone wild trick. But this thing was crazy big! Our neighbor had us get it out of the trash after Church so he could scare someone in the neighborhood. Can I just say we have some really fun neighbors?! We love it here...minus th esnake thing.
Ben's niece Kayla got married! Craziness. We had to take a wedding photo in front of the Sacramento Temple.
 And selfies at the reception.
Our house was hit hard by a nasty cough bug. Everyone (except me thank you lemon water...) got sick. Well, I will say it is the lemon water but who knows. Basically, it was horrible.
The twins crack me up daily. They love to accessorize with scarves, sunglasses, hair things, pretty much anything. They might be the most stylish Kinders I have ever met.
Along with a new house comes new projects. Ben and Bailey built some amazing garage shelves. Ben is super handy like that. If only he didn't have to do the whole day job attorney thing, we could have tons of things built around here.
Conference is on Easter Sunday so we did the obligatory Sunday dress picture this last week. Don't let this picture fool you, it was not a happy time. While trying to get a good picture, we all ended up crabby. Oh well!
To start Spring Break off, the girls and I went with Melanie and her girls to see Cinderella. More fun Sping break pictures are coming as it unfolds this week. And BAM! I caught up. Time to order the blog book!!!

Valentine's Day!

Nathan was lucky enough to get baptized on Valentine's Day. This is the only picture I took, as it was kind of an interesting day...We were in the middle of crazy stuff with selling the house and I felt a little like Job with everything going wrong. Silly to feel that way when someone is always worse off than you. My friend had passed away this week unexpectedly. She wasn't much older than me, and had four children, and foster children as well. She had health issues for a while they couldn't figure out until she went to Stanford and they found leukemia. She died a few days later from complications of treatment. Within a week, everything changed for this family. This was the second wife this man lost to cancer. Talk about feeling like Job. She was a wonderful lady. She was really wonderful, and not just wonderful because she is dead now and everyone only remembers the good. I've been through a lot in my life, but really it's a pretty good one.
How we spent that night. Mac n Cheese, hotdogs and each other. Don't forget the candlelight.

Moving Moving Moving

What is funny, or not so funny about us moving is that a whole lot of other people did too. In a ward, this can cause quite the upset. I happened to tell my friend about our new house, and she happened to go look at the models, and before you know it-they bought one on the next court over! Her husband is the High Priest group leader, Ben is the Elder's Quorum president, and the Bishop sort of moved at the same time too... oops! But it wasn't all my fault. The Bishop had a job offer in Utah. I made this candy gram for the Stake President apologizing for what may seem like a mass exodus out of the ward that comes across as my fault. He did find this amusing.

Since we were moving soon, I had Emma go to New Beginnings in our new ward since that is where she would actually end up starting Young Women's. It is so strange to think she is this old now! I'm excited that i will get to be in there with her since they called me to be the Laurel adviser.

Nathan started Cubs in the new ward as well and right off the bat got to go to the Blue and Gold and the Pinewood Derby. I was asked to judge the cars, so I gave Nathan Judges Favorite. After all, he is my favorite out of all those boys, so it is only fair!
For the Blue and Gold dinner, we made a campfire s'mores cheesecake. It was not as elaborate as all the other cakes, but for pulling this off while moving, I would say I did a pretty good job.

New Digs

We moved! This is our new house, which we love love love. It was quite the process, selling and buying. We never intended to buy a new house. We were looking for older homes in established neighborhoods that were closer to the kids school. Then we walked into this thing and the rest is history. I always call new homes "crack." I mean, you walk through one and of course you must ave it because it looks perfect. But, these floor plans are the most functional I have ever seen. It was like someone got in my head and built a house for my family. And when that happens, you buy it. The end. Plus, with it being on the other side of Lincoln, it actually ended up making our school commute much shorter (from 12-15 minutes to 6-10 minutes!) This saves a lot of my day.

The actual day

We spent Nathan's birthday doing the Everything Fun Run. Let me just say (and kids this is the point you stop reading if you don't want things ruined for you)-This was a DUMB run, if anything. It was not fun, or scary or much of anything.
But the kids had fun because at the end they got doused in color and got to go through a puddle of mud. They probably thought they were as cool as Ben and I running TM or Spartan. Which, pshaw...whatever... ;)
We had Taco Bell afterward and it will probably go down in their minds as one of the best days ever.
In other random news, Nathan started cub scouts. More on that later.

Nathan's 8th Birthday

With turning 8, comes the fun of a friend party. Nathan chose to have his party at Bounce U. They take pictures for you, and got some really fun shots. This is a super long picture post, but I want to save most of them so they are included!

This is Eliana. The only girl invited who was not a sister or cousin. If you read back in older posts, you can see that this "love" has been around a while. They even hugged goodbye after the party. It is the cutest, most innocent little thing ever.
