Eden turned 7 years old. She had a birthday party. We had fun planning the games, food and writing the inviations. She was super excited for her friends to come. Eden is the oldest child, you can tell by the way she talks. She loves the twins! She loves to dance, sing, take pictures with my phone, attach herself to Paul's leg, snap her fingers, decorate her room, color, write and read. She has received 2 CSI and is working on a third. She loves school. She loves her teacher, principal and classmates. She gets up early and is ready for school before any of us are awake.
Eden loves cucumbers, snap peas, salad, homemade bread and of course candy.Friday, December 21, 2012
6 years old
David turned 6! He lost two teeth the day after his birthday. He was excited to open his presents and go to Arby's. David loves to build things with legos. He still loves to play with cars & trains too. He is really good at taking things apart. He loves Brussels sprouts and asparagus (together...he gets so mad when we don't serve them together). He also loves steak and sauteed mushrooms. He likes kindergarten and has lots of friends. Everyone loves David. He loves gym, music and learning site words. He is working hard to do his personal best and get green smiley faces everyday.
He is still such a tender boy. He always saids, "Mommy, I need to tell you something" before saying anything. He gets his wording mixed up and sometimes doesn't bother to talk in complete sentances.
Like today in the car:
"Ruth, if you don't have your seat belt on, we crash- done, finished, you die."
Or when I brought donuts to his classroom, he told the kids "My mom is the best cooker!"
Happy Birthday David.
Since David is 6 years old we can already see a few grown up changes. For instance, he no longer believes that if you pee in the pool a little shark will come out of the deep end and bite your toe. He also has told us he does not like to be called Day-Day (his long cherished nick name). According to him it sounds like a baby and makes him want to punch people.

5 months
| Sam & Ben |
The twins turned 5 months last week. I don't have a endearing picture of them this month. Now that Sam has lost his hair, it is harder to tell them apart. Ben is rolling over. He has gotten himself stuck under the Christmas tree a few times. Sam is not rolling over. He just lies around looking at his hands. They both love to be on the play mat or bouncy seat and grab dangling toys. Both boys are very happy babies. They love to sit on my lap. They both smile and laugh a lot. As of right now, it is easier to get Ben to laugh and smile than Sam.
They are constantly chewing their fists. If I leave the room their eyes follow me and they
cry (unless someone else is there to entertain them). The kids are always trying to scare them. They think it is so funny to see the babies jump.
Today I was in a store at the checkout counter. Ben was screaming, Sam was asleep. Some people came over to help. I nodded at their "your hands are full" comments (which made me smile because I didn't even have my other 3 kids with me...so I was actually enjoying myself). I was not frazzled but I could tell other people were concerned. A woman commented, "how do you do it?" I nicely said, "just be glad only one is crying."

I'm glad the twins came last. I've learned a trick...head phones! When the twins are in their crib and start crying. I turn the timer on and put my headphones on. Then in 15 minutes I take them off to see if they are still crying. 90% of the time there is quietness. Much better than laying on the floor crying while Eden screamed when she was 5 months.
These 5 months have been so fun. They are so cute!

Paul's 37th birthday
Indiana Pacer vs. Portland Trailblazers
That was the BEST birthday surprise I could have given him. We got to see Damien Lillard play in person! A million thank yous to the Wallins for telling us about the $7 tickets and watching our kids.
Happy Birthday Paul Edward Ordyna.
(the kids are into calling everyone by their full name lately)

Crime of corn
Eden lost a tooth today at school. I think it is her 8th tooth.
However, this is her SECOND tooth where we think she swallowed it. Both times have been while eating corn. The school nurse sent home a note for the tooth fairy, certifying it has a equal substitute for Eden's tooth.
Eden requested to sleep with Sam last night. It didn't go very well. He likes to sleep in peace, not with two girls talking and trying to touch his face. Eden is determined to try again tonight. I expect the same results but I will let her try. She really is their second mommy. She loves the twins so much. I can't blame her for wanting more cuddle time.

4 months
The twins are 4 months. Right now their personalities seem to be the same BUT they are unique. When I hold them and look into their eyes they have their own spirit. They are important and individual. I guess I always thought of twins as being half of a whole. I took the 'being split from one egg' to a literal sense. This probably sounds silly to the rest of you normal thinking people :). I still can't believe I have twins. They are the cutest babies.

4 years difference
I was taking head shots of the kids the other day. I told Paul to take one of me. So I went outside and stood by the fence. Today I uploaded pictures and saw myself. Doesn't this picture look familiar? Ummm...it's my profile picture taken exactly 4 years ago. OH MY GOODNESS! The same hair cut, same style of earrings, same lip gloss, practically same background...I just look older. More wrinkles, more tired, not as much sun, I swear my roots even look a little grey.
Ok, besides the fact that I now look a lot older...big deal. Let's talk about how I possibly could be stuck in an era. Almost every women gets stuck. She tends to hold on to her style from a time when she thinks she looked the best. Usually 20's or 30's. You know, the 40 year lady who wears those chunky clogs that were really cool in 1995?
Is this my era?! How do you not get stuck? What if I want to get stuck? Maybe I should cut my bangs straight across. Is that not cool anymore? But when they grow out I am back in my usual look again.

Halloween 2012
This picture was actually taken a month ago when we got their costumes.
Family night pumpkin carving.
By the end of the day the twins are tired of being good babies and cry until someone will hold them! Dad always comes to their rescue.
Actual Halloween night.
Ruthie was the only one who stayed true to her costume. David lost his pants, handcuffs and night stick but luckily found his police hat minutes before leaving. Eden didn't want to wear the wig or her sparkly dress...so basically she dressed up as herself. I heard her singing to herself, "I'm dressed up as nobody...nobody but me." I think she felt sneaky. She didn't really care about her costume, she was focused on getting candy. The babies were babies. Why do babies need to dress up?
Happy Halloween~

3 1/2 months
They are at such a cute age. They smile and coo. They both wrap their little arm around my shoulder when I hold them. I swear when the other twin cries, their grip gets tighter. They know they don't have the luxury of being held all day. Sam loves to be held...well, they both love to be held. Sam seems to be held more because he is a little more temperamental. He will also just sit in your arms without any fuss. Ben gets restless if you hold him too long. We learned at church last week, it was not good for Ben to be held the whole time. Ben is much more willing to sleep, he also sleeps more than Sam during the day. Sometimes I do pretty good keeping them on the same schedule but most days I just go with whatever they do. It's so different from how I have been with my other children. I put out fires. That is a good way to describe it.
This picture is so weird! Huge head Ben! I have not realized how big Ben is getting! From the fit of their clothes, I can tell Sam is longer and generally a little bigger. Ben has a bigger upper body with shorter legs. They are both drinking 6 oz. every 3-4 hours. Their sleep schedule is from 8pm-3 or 4 ish. A few weeks ago they started waking up in the middle of the night. Not cool. Actually, it has worked out nice because after they feed at 4am they go back to bed until 9am. So, it gives me time to get the kids ready for school, breakfast and sometimes myself dressed :).
What a fun time. I love their blue eyes.

3 months
The twins are 3 months old. These boys are so so so so unbelievably cute. They are smiling and cooing. They are wonderful sleepers and eaters. The Lord has blessed us. We have been so blessed with these twins. I personally think this is a direct blessing from the missionaries who are serving in our family: Grandma & Grandpa Ordyna, Lisa & Bradley.
The whole crew. Good thing we have a policeman to enforce the law :).
They are watching Eden dance.

3 years old
Ruthie has a sweet voice. I love when she saids, "Sure!" or "what's that again?" when trying to think of something. She loves to watch sesame street clips on YouTube. She decided to give up diapers last month and hasn't had one accident. One day she was in diapers and the next she was in panties. She loves Eden. When she is in the mood to be silly, she loves playing with David. She also likes the babies but doesn't really pay much attention to them. She gets spoiled by strangers when we are out in public. Everyone wants to talk to her about her brothers. A few weeks ago, the nicest Grandma bought Ruthie a toy at Michaels while we were waiting in line. Yesterday, another nice Grandma carried Ruthie out of Target because she was screaming and kicking while I pushed the stroller. Of course, when the stranger picked Ruthie up...she stopped crying and was silent while this lady encouraged her to be a nice girl. Ruth has received service from all kinds of people. At the mall, a middle age man bought her a gum ball. I'm not sure if it is because she is so darn cute, or they take pity on me having twins. Either way, Ruthie is defiantly benefiting from the twins! She used to really love her sippy but since wearing panties- she only gets them in the day. Apparently a sippy in the day is not as appealing as night time. So, she isn't as attached anymore :). Ruth likes to ride in the bike trailer behind Paul's bike. She likes to read books and change her clothes several times a day. She copies her older siblings. She pretends to write letters and likes to color. She insists on listening to the wheels on the bus while in the car. She LOVES mushrooms. She & David will eat a whole plate of sauteed mushrooms for breakfast. I am excited she is 3 years old. This is such a fun age. Hopefully she will leave the terrible twos behind. She has short hair because she dislikes getting it combed. She still screams and whines when I brush it. She does brush her own hair now, so that helps. She loves to sing 'I am a child of God' before her nap. Happy Birthday! I love you Ruthie toothy.
She wanted a PINK cake.
She picked an Elmo pinata for our family night activity.

| Sam |
Ruthie had her OWN play date. This is her friend Jay. She loves Jay. Ruth is also officially potty trained! It has been about a week. She only wants to wear pink panties and still requests candy for going number 2 in the potty. She is VERY excited about her birthday coming up.
