My Birthday

So, my birthday was over a week ago, but here are pictures. I was treated to lunch with my dear friend Abby. Madison was so excited to see Caleb and Abby it had been about 2 weeks. Then Chris actually came home early from work--not because it was my birthday, but because he needed to work on his Scout Fundraiser which was the next day. But I enjoyed laying on the bed and visiting with him while he made all his phone calls. Matt and Courtney came over about 3:30 p.m. Courtney and I had pedicure appointments at 4:00 (this was a first for me and I loved it!). We went out to eat with Matt & Court to Hash House a Go Go. Then came home to enjoy the most delicious cupcakes that Chris got for me! If you'll remember, Chris has a thing with getting me something different every year--a giant pizza with 25 written in peperoni, 26 on a giant cookie, 27 on an icecream cake and now 28 on cupcakes. My favorite cupcake was the red velvet. Madison loved helping me open presents. I got lots of fun things!

Madison picked out that she wanted the "pink" one. Once we gave it to her she preceeded to dive right in face first!

By-the-way, we leave on Thursday to go to Chase & Dana's wedding in California. We are very excited and will take lots of pictures!

Dress-up?

A few weeks ago, Madison would bring out a piece of clothing from her pajama drawer and want me to put it on her. She would end up like the pictures show and then she would have me take it all off and she would shake out each piece of clothing and put it nicely back in her drawer.

The Eighties??

Madison loves going through my drawer in the bathroom. My hair-ties are "bracelets", handbands are "necklaces", big headbands are either "my hat" or "my prince"(princess crown". She brushes her hair and pretends to put make-up on. Such a girl!

And doesn't she kind of look like she's from the eighties?

Early Birthday Present for Madison

Aunt Dana (in two weeks) was driving through Las Vegas on her way to California. She stopped in to stay the night. Her and Uncle Chase had gotten Madison's birthday present and when we were talking to Chase that night, he insisted that Madison open it right then while he was on the phone and Dana was there. We had actually wrapped a present for Dana's bridal shower and Madison kept saying "present, me open" and I had to keep telling her it was for Dana. So she was very excited when there was a present for her to open. I think she's really going to enjoy opening presents this year for her birthday. She was thrilled with her gift--a Little Mermaid purse, "swim", and "skirt". She's been dying to go swimming and try it out and she's always carrying HER purse around.
Thanks Uncle Chase & Aunt Dana for a great gift!

A visit from Grandma Rae Dene & Kirk

This past week my Grandma Rae Dene came ot visit. She brought Madison all kinds of surprises. Some of Madison's favorites are a singing book, lady bug capris and the movie "A Bug's Life." On Friday Madison wanted to wear her lady bug pants and watch her "ladybug" movie (that's what she calls "A Bug's Life"). Grandma also brought her this new dress that she wore to church on Sunday. A few funny moments from Sunday. Chris was passing the Sacrament (like he does every week) and this week he was actually on our side of the chapel. He was two rows in front of us and she escaped me and ran to him and grabbed his hand. I quickly retrieved her. After Sacrament Meeting they did a little gift presentation to the Mother's of the Ward. Madison was not happy. She knows that after Sacrament Meeting is nursery and she did not like the wait or the fact that her Dad left us again to help the youth hand things out. As soon as he returned she grabbed is hand and was out of there. Chris said she ran into Nursery and up to one of her teachers and said "me here". During Relief Society the door opened and I see Madison and she comes running in "I potty, I potty"--very loud. I'm sure most people thought she needed to go potty, but really she had already gone potty and needed a change. I couldn't get her changed fast enough--and off she went back to Nursery. We are so thankful that she loves it and that she has such great leaders.

Happy little girl

Madison has been so good about taking naps and going to sleep at night. It's been wonderful! She always wants a baby to go to sleep with. She usually tells me that she is ready for her nap and wants in her crib. We went over to Uncle Matt & Aunt Court's last night to celebrates Matt's birthday. Madison had such a fun time. She says Matt and Court and last night she was even saying "Uncle Matt". She didn't want to leave their place last night. She sure loves them and we're so glad their here and she gets to know them and spend time with them.

My helper

Madison is a little helper. She loves helping with the laundry and cleaning. She was very proud of herself for putting her hat on all by herself! It's not unusual to find her singing or humming her own little song. She loves music. She loves to get out my hymn book and she opens it up and just sings.

Sparkle Shoes

Madison's sandals were getting too small, so we went in search of some new ones. She loves trying on shoes. We found these sparkly ones at Target. They also had them in pink and purple and she really wanted to put the purple ones on, too.

Smarty Pants

Madison has really become quite the talker. She knows so many words and is always surprising me. This video was taken a couple of weeks ago. I'm amazed at how fast she picked up her colors and she can pick out certain letters--I don't know where but she's learned what a "T" is and she's started to recognize more. I need to work with her and I think she could recognize all of them.

This little girl loves to sing and dance. Chris got home later than usual last night. Madison was watching the Little Mermaid (a new favorite--she says "watch mermaid, watch mermaid" and she always so concerned about "prince")--anyway, it was almost over and we were all watching it together. One of the bonus features is that you can play all the songs again. She was up and dancing and singing and now she's incorporated jumping into her dance moves and I'm proud to say she was actually getting off the ground.

You'll notice in the video that she calls flowers "bows"--which is true since she wears flowers as bows.
