Random Pics

This first picture is of Madison a week before her first birthday. Here Claire is in the same outfit about a month before her first birthday. I don't know how anyone could think they look alike??? These pictures also show their completely different personalities.

On this particular day Claire was toting this bear around everywhere with her. It's amazing what she can crawl with--sometimes in her hand or she gets inventive and holds the object by her teeth.

The second week of July we headed over to the Silverton Casino/Big Bass Pro Shop to see their aquarium. Madison was a little bit afraid to get too close to the glass, but then a mermaid came and she LOVED it! She was so sad when the mermaid left.

The girls love watching Playhouse Disney. One of their favorite shows is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Claire goes crazy when she hears the music. This video shows a little of it.

Helmet Girl to the Rescue...

Madison modeling one of her new birthday outfits. This was on July 18th--we took her to get her three year pictures and she was typical Madison... Finally on Saturday the 18th we were able to try out her bike.

She does pretty good and was riding through the parking lot saying "Helmet Girl".
Now for Helmet Girl in action...

Birthday Party!

Madison had such a fun birthday party. She loved opening the presents. She blew all three candles out in one breath---the boys were quite impressed!

All the kids wanted the shark cupcakes.

I forgot to take a picture of all the kids together. So we don't have any pictures with Caleb, but here is Madison with Sam and Spencer.
If you ask her who she's going to marry she will tell you Spencer--after he serves a mission. And they are going to get married in a pink temple.

Here she is with her new princess bike and helmet. As soon as she put her helmet on she started calling herself "helmet girl".

She's modeling her new dress-up clothes from Caleb.

Birthday Party Preparations

Madison was so excited to get everything decorated for her friends to come over. I made a fish cake and shark & schools of fish cupcakes, too. They never turn out as good as the picture, but oh well.

We played pin the tentacle on the octopus.

We wanted to feel like we were under the sea.

For the goodie bag I got some sand buckets and my sister-in-law printed all the kids names on vinyl to go on them.

Madison loves balloons, so we couldn't have a party without them.

Why there is a random black balloon in this bouquet I do not know?

Now we're ready for the party to begin and for our friends to arrive...

Happy 3rd Birthday!!

Our sweet little Madison turned 3 on Friday July 17th!! I can't believe how fast the last 3 years have gone. She is such a joy to our family. She is always making us laugh and lately will just randomly say "I love you Mom so much!"--if that doesn't just melt your heart. Chris insisted that Madison have a birthday party this year. The last two years it's just been the three of us. How do you throw a party for a very girly girl who loves princesses, dress-up, tea parties...and who's only friends are boys??? There are no girls her age! So we had an "Under the Sea Party"! She was so excited. She couldn't wait to decorate the house and for her friends to come over. On the morning of her birthday she got to open one present....it of course was a new outfit to wear for her party and a new Disney CD with the song "Under the Sea".

This is what Claire was doing while Madison was opening her present...yes standing on top of Madison's bed!

Of course we had blueberry muffins for breakfast!

Corn on the Cob

One of the many things I miss from my years growing up in a small in town in New Mexico is fresh corn on the cob from my Grandpa's garden! I love corn on the cob! I hated shucking it because of the large worms, but I sure loved eating it. Claire has discovered it and she also loves it! She can eat this whole thing lickety split.

Two weeks ago after nursery, Madison found me and told me she learned about "obeying me". She told Chris she's supposed to obey mom and dad. Her teacher told me when they were having their lesson, she lowered her head and said she hadn't minded her mom and picked up her toys, so she didn't get to paint. Her teacher asked her how that made her feel? She said "Sad". So her teacher explained it's important to obey our parents so we can be happy. That afternoon she did whatever I asked and was quick to please. Unfortunately she's already forgotten...they received a puppet to be them...

How big is your head?

Madison found one of Chris' measuring tapes and started measuring everything including Claire's head! Claire loves to crawl up on Madison's bed and drink Madison's water. It drives Madison crazy!

Happy 4th of July!

We didn't do too much celebrating. Originally I thought we'd go to the parade Saturday morning, but Chris had to work. He worked all morning and then we ran some errands. Chris insisted on buying some fireworks. He and the girls went swimming and then at 6:00 p.m. he lit some "flowers" and fountains"--Madison LOVED it! We ate leftovers for dinner and Chris & I watched a movie. Madison didn't have any patriotic outfits, but Claire had a couple. Gotta love that toothy grin!

I love those cute shoes!

Climber

Claire usually wakes up before Madison, so when Madison finally does wake up and opens the door...Claire heads straight to her bed and climbs up on it. She loves climbing up there. Claire can blow kisses now and play peek-a-boo. It's so cute. I need to catch her on video doing it.
