Party!

Once all the kids had arrived I handed over the treasure map and the hunt began.  There were 4 special points they had to find where the were given some pirate gear--compass, bandana, swords/belts, and pouches for gold and then the treasure chest.

It was very frantic as everyone was trying to grab as much treasure as possible (ring pops, necklaces, gold chocolate coins, rolos (chunks of gold), eye patches, jewels...

All the pirates!

Eating dinner

Singing to the birthday girl.

Looks pretty cool all lit--she was a little nervous because there were candles on each side and how can she blow both sides out at the same time???

Presents...

Evelyn was right there to help.

She had a great time and told me it was the best pirate birthday ever.  I'm glad she loved everything!

Pirate Party!

Well, as Madison decided what kind of party she wanted this year she wanted something that boys could come to because some of best friends are boys and last year she had a Rapunzel party and did feel like she could invite them.  So I suggested a pirate party and she loved the idea.  We did some cool invitations.

This is her party face "arrragghh me harteys".  She chose to wear her new outfit from Grandma Rae Dene and Grandpa Kirk.

The birthday cake...I orginially was just going to do cupcakes, then decided to go ahead and do a cake.  I was a little nervous but it turned out great and she loved it!  (whoppers as cannon balls, rolos as gold and barrels, the candles are the cannons.)

We can not have a party at our house without pin the something on something.  Again I was nervouse about drawing a pirate...I am not an artist!
The party decor--balloons are a must!

little pirate ships to eat!

You can't have a pirate party without a pirate map!

After the game was played...we also played get as many pretzels out of the treasure chest with a pirate hook.  The kids all seemed to have a good time.

Madison's birthday Morning

It's hard to beieve that my little girl turned 6 on July 17th!  The years have flown by.  She is such a joy to have in our family.  She is so sweet and kind, always wanting everyone to be happy, great friend, such a helper to me, loves dancing, singing, swimming, soccer, school.  She does not like veggies or pasta.  She prefers fruity/sweet/sour candy to chocolate, loves pepperoni pizza, peanut butter & honey or jelly sandwiches.  She's reading better every day.  She doesn't like scary movies or romantic partys in movie (she leaves the room because she gets so embarrassed!).  She would watch TV all day if I let her and she LOVES art and admires her Aunt that is an artist so much!  She tells people all the time about her Aunt the artist.  She went in for her well check visit and was 49 1/2 inches tall (95%) and was 90% for weight.  The doctor said she gets an A+ and looks great!   We love Madison and are so glad she belongs to our family!  She got to open a present that morning before Chris left for work.

Cute Girl!

This cutie-putie is getting some hair and it is curly! Hopefully it stays that way.  We've started doing clips instead of headbands.

One Friday night Chris and Madison went to watch Jimmer play at the Thomas and Mack, so Claire and I were going to have a "girl party".  I fixed mac & cheese to for dinner, made popcorn and was cleaning Evie up when I came back to watch the movie and found this.  She was exhausted and had fallen asleep about 6 p.m.  I put her in bed and she ended up waking up about 9:30 and wandered into the living room.  She helped me work on a project for Madison's birthday and went to bed after Madison and Dad got home.

Night at the park

One Friday night after Chris got home from work we headed to the park. Madison and Evelyn absolutely love the swings.  Madison is a GREAT pumper--she can start all by herself and get going really high.

Claire's way of swinging.

Big smiles!

Afterwards the girls wanted Chili's for dinner--we obliged.  Last week I found 2 of Evelyn's molars poking through.  It looks so painful.  She's been a trooper.  She is also a walker now.  No more crawling!  It's so funny to see her walking down the hallway.
