Tuesday

The Last Carrier

Our cats are both getting spayed in the morning, and we're supposed to bring them in separate carriers. Since we only have one carrier, I headed to Walmart to see if I could find one. I got the other one at PetSmart, and it was a little more money than I wanted to spend. I looked at Walmart and didn't see one. Then I decided to check one last isle, and I saw one. And it was THE last one on the shelf. I was so happy! I think it was waiting there just for me. :)

Thursday

A Canceled Trip

We've been having a pretty crazy rain/wind storm the past 3 days. Today after work, Derk was scheduled to leave for a business trip to Phoenix. Because of the storm, they're sending the students all home early AND they canceled Derk's trip. Derk is annoyed about it and as a result, he's taking tomorrow off of work. I think it's a huge blessing! I had so much going on this weekend and was worried about how to do it all by myself, and now he'll be home. It actually is pretty silly to us Idahoans that school is canceled over a rain/wind storm. ;)

Wednesday

The All Clear!

I got my CT scan results today, and my lungs are 100% clear! My doctor kept shaking his head and saying, "I don't know how this happened! It shouldn't have happened!" I know how it happened -- a MIRACLE! There was no way to medically explain it, and it's just amazing.

Tuesday

That Clean Air Smell

Today is one of the rare days that we have some rain. Actually, it's pouring. When we realized it was raining, the kids ran out back to play in the rain. Once that delicious smell of the air hit me, I realized how much I miss the rain and the climate I grew up in. I'm trying to see the rain today as a blessing instead of focusing on how much it's making me miss living up north. Hopefully within the next 3-4 years, we'll be back where we want to be! But for now, I will enjoy this smell with the doors wide open!

Monday

A Pair of Church Shoes

A few weeks ago, I bought Cambria some new black church shoes. She proceeded to get into the shoe bin and lost them before she ever had the chance to wear them to church. And they've been missing ever since. Well, I found them today! I literally screamed and was so excited to find them! Where were they? In the shoe cubby in our hall closet. I never put the kids' shoes in there, so I didn't even think to look there. Hooray!

Sunday

So Many Unrecorded Blessings

Over the past few weeks, I have had so many blessings, but I've been too busy to record them. So I'll just do a quick recap in this post and then start again with trying to record them every day.

--Kyrie turned 8 and had a great birthday party.
--She was also baptized, which was a very spiritual and amazing experience.
--Almost all of our family on Derk's side was able to come down for the event.
--We had a fantastic time with all of our family.
--I started school. I still don't have my books, which is stressing me out (hopefully they'll arrive early next week!), but it's going a lot better than I thought it would so far.
--Cambria's lip has healed perfectly.
--The weather has been amazing.
--I'm getting a lot more comfortable in my calling.
--I get to work on my Personal Progress with the Young Women. I'm very excited about this!

I'm sure there are many more.

Saturday

A Girl's Day Out

Last month, I asked a friend of mine if she wanted to go to a movie with me. We had such fun that we decided to make it a monthly ritual. Today was our second Girl's Day Out, and it was just as fun as last month. We did a little shopping, grabbed some Quiznos and then saw a chick flick at the theater. Time goes by way too fast when we hang out, and we just have a great time. I'm grateful for this friend, for our husbands being so willing to watch the kids while we go out and for the time to just be ME. Not Mommy, not wife, me. It's so refreshing.
