Our Bubble World

It's February and it's cold.   So, what does my ward decide to do?  Hold a luau of course!   I love a good party but really outside was more conducive to a sledding activity not a luau.  I got all dressed up in my best Hawaiian attire and then promptly covered it up with a long coat and boots (Ben's boots by the way).  I was cold!  For some reason Doug thought it was cute or just funny so he had to take a pic.

This was a dancing activity for adults only and it was nice to get away for a while.  Forget the children.  Forget the cold and just relax.  We danced.  We talked.  We laughed and just had fun.

I claim insanity.  Winter was getting to me and made me do things I wouldn't normally do.  It was cold and snowy.  The children and I had been cooped up too long and it was time for a break.  We bundled up and headed downtown.  Crazy, I know!  It sure was a good time though and we all managed to tell the tale.

For all holidays big or small my house gets decorated if possible and Valentine's Day is no exception.  With the decorations I've added the tradition of making chocolate Valentine houses.  Usually we make these at Christmas, but I thought it would be fun to make with Valentine candy and thus the tradition was born. 

 I love traditions, but it seems the more my family grows the more the traditions get pushed aside for the day to day activities.  It makes me sad really.  I hope we can keep traditions alive and just forget the day to day stuff.
