So you are reading the words of the new Art Director at Riester Advertising Agency. I approach this topic in fear of beating a dead horse, but oh well. You can tell what's been monopolizing my thoughts and time, right?
I got the job I wanted at roughly the salary I wanted... I am happy as a clam. Now if we can just get moving to a location in the northland, my life will be as close to Nirvana as I can imagine. I'm just the right mix of excited, scared, confident, and nervous. I can't wait to start.
I feel very blessed to have so many people rooting for me and interested in what's going on in my life. Thanks to all that wished me luck. True friends you are (thanks, Yoda).

Flake-o-Rooski

Sorry I missed out on the fun last night...
I was just pondering the plight of those who suffer from thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura due to their metalloprotease enzyme deficiency which allows their von Willebrand factor to continually activate their platelets leading to a prolonged bleeding time due to the resultant platelet dysfunction.

Mc Postalot
I know I have posted a lot lately but I couldn't help myself this time. I was clicking the next blog thing on the top of the page and found a memorial. It was so sweet. It was for a guy named Pete that had passed way to soon. Pete was our age! His friends started the blog as a way to remember him and share their fun times with him. Reading how much they loved him and how amazing he was to others really touched me. It made me think what others would say and feel about me if I was gone. Would I be missed? Would there be any good things to say about me and the person I was? The blog made me feel so content with my life and the things I have done to this point. I would not take any of it back, nor would I do things differently.
I just want to thank Pete because if it weren't for him I would not have stumbled across this blog and I would have never realized how insanely happy my life is. I am completely content and not many people could say that.

Welcome to the Gentelman's Club...
For those of you that are interested, we are planning on having a boys night out this Friday. So husband ask you wives, and wives let your husbands go. We will be having fun, frivolity, and debauchery. Mostly video games and poker. I just thought I would post this to those of you who don't check your phones regularly, (ahem, ahem, Windy). Seacrest out.

I passed meds for the first time ever and I gave my very first insulin shot. I actually feel like I am something. I AM going to be WHAT I WANT and that is a competent nurse!!!

Ich Werde an Arbeiten Riester!
So here's a little update on a cool, rainy Memorial Day. By the way, don't you think it's a cruel joke to have all those people visiting cemeteries, mourning the loss of loved ones, and it's RAINING too?
Anyway, due to the hundreds of well-wishes and encouragement, I walked into the Riester offices in Salt Lake like an uncaged lion, grabbed the Creative Director by the throat and demanded a job or face repeated kidney kicks. He immediately begged for the chance to hire me, gave me a crown made of milk chocolate, and let me walk on him as my red carpet out of the place.
Actually, the skinny is this: they told me on Friday that Phoenix approved extending an offer to me, and I should expect the offer to come from HR tomorrow or Friday. I'm anticipating the offer to be exceptional, because the place I interviewed before Riester upped my asking price. I asked for more than I thought I should, and they said OK, so when Riester asked: "What's the price on your head?" I told them what the earlier company offered. That was a great feeling.
All this does NOT mean I have a job, nor does it mean that they won't offer much lower than I expect. What it does mean is I can get offered less, and still be comfortable leaving Jandaco because it will be more than I make there and it will be in the advertising world (a world I have long coveted).
I will keep you updated, and I apologize if this post sounded like bragging. I'm just liking the position I'm in right now.
P.S. The title is actual German, and must be shouted.

Suavvy Interviews
So after a long hiatus, I have posted again. I have spent that last week and a half finishing up the ol' website, shoring up the resumé, and lining up interviews. I've got three interviews tomorrow afternoon, and another later in the week. It's nice to know you're wanted by companies, and hopefully I can show them how much they need me.
In the design industry it's all about the branding, hence my spending months on the website and branding. Everything from your clothing, to your portfolio, to your business cards must be spot-on in the branding department. If you can't manage your own image, how are you going to manage the brand of huge companies? It's really fun to create your own branding, but it makes you kinda neurotic. I've gone over every bit of typography to make sure EVERYTHING is where it should be.
The job I'm really after is Riester Ad Agency in Salt Lake City. They've got offices in LA and Phoenix, which I want to take advantage of should I get a job. I've always wanted to move to Phoenix and go to ASU. Maybe I could stay on part-time? Anywho, I get ahead of myself.
Wish me luck and I'll keep you informed.

I'm Getting All Weepy
I thought I'd post this comment as a new post since it's been awhile since Scotty posted his songs. I REALLY like The Weepies. Great sound. I love the more lowkey songs. The more electronic songs, while good songs, for me don't have that goose-bump-inducing, pant-sullying IT sound. I guess it's just my pot-smoking, guitar playing, drum-circle background influencing me.

The Presets

The Presets - This Boy's In Love
This is a great song from this Australian band. The melodic "Ahhhhhs" in the chorus are a highlight. I also love the relentless bass line. What a cool song. Also, I love the guy's deep voice--it's like a techno version of the Editors. Toni, I expect you will appreciate this song. Jake, I suspect you will feel like you need to take another massive dump after hearing it.

Disney Owns Everything

So I just got back from a presentation to some Disney folks in Burbank, California. We flew out at 8:45am and got back at 9:10pm, so it was a crappy flying schedule and I'm pretty tired. Anyway, we met in the building above which is entirely owned by Disney (there's about 3-4 larger buildings Disney owns in the vicinity). The building houses Disney Internet Group, which is only a portion of it's online presence. It was an awesome opportunity I was pretty stoked about, and things went really well. Cut a notch on my bedpost for presenting to the largest entertainment company in the world.
Coming away from it I was in awe of how much stuff Disney owns. I would not be surprised if trillions—yes, trillions—of dollars pass through Disney's hands every year. I would liken Disney to the Disney Online, Radio Disney, Disney Home, Disney Family, ABC, ABC Family, Disneyland, Disneyworld, ESPN, Club Penguin, Buena Vista Home Entertainment, and many, many more companies.
How in the crap does a company get that big from one man's cartoons?

School, Life and a Little Fun...Very Little
EMOTIONAL VOMIT:
My mom just got a huge promotion and is moving to St. George!! I am both really excited and really depressed. I thought Ogden was far but now she will be even farther. It freaks me out because I just want my mom closer to me for once. Growing up I was very independent and now I just need my mom closer. I need her friendship and company. It is going to be even harder than it was before to have this with her.
STRESSFUL VOMIT:
I am taking Pharmacology, Med Surg, Lab and Creative Arts!! Yikes! Scott can relate I am sure. Yesterday was the first day for all of them and I came home with 6 assignments for Pharmacology, 4 Med Surg assignments, and 2 Creative Arts assignments!! At least I passed off 5 of 5 skills yesterday!! Oh and did I mention these are all due on Thursday and I have a test in Pharm that day as well!?!?!?
FUN STUFF:
Well on the bright side....Thanks to Scott (Aaron's dad) I have the 4 wheeler virus!! I am infected and it multiplies every second!! Steve and I are looking for 4 wheeler #2. Yep thats right The Radicals are purchasing another toy!! We always do the responsible thing and because of that we think it is the right time to splurge!!
Steve and I had a great time hanging out with all of you at Beck's blessing. We forgot how much fun it was to get together.
My garden is getting huge!!
Our nephew stayed the night last night and we allowed him to have 2 mountain dews, a king size twix and lots and lots of costco pizza!! (don't tell his mother, she would kill me)
Asparagus is 98 cents at Walmart and I bought 4 bundles...I love that stuff!

Money Saving Energy Tip
Have any of you tried this light bulb?
K so it is a bit pricier than regular bulbs but it will pay you back in the long run. I haven't done a whole lot of research yet but my friend said her first energy bill was $32 less than the month before. 32x12=384!! I would love saving that much money every year!! If you have tried these let me know what you think!! I guess they last up to 2 years but they are made of mercury and are hard to recycle and dispose of. Mercury is toxic and I don't like the idea of throwing something toxic away in the trash like its no big deal. Ikea does have the means to dispose of them properly so thats good.
