we wanted to go to paris but since ryan air no longer flies to paris from EMA. so it was a ticket to southern france instead. It was technically a ‘graduation trip’ for me and ron. and in the short one week i have before we fly back home after completion of my dissertation.
5 whole long sunny days in the french coast. bathing ourselves in the sun and the sea. and loads of topless women on the beach.
it was nice to get to Nice (pronounced as ‘neece’), one of the towns that is along the southern coastal area of france. it is a famous spot for the rich to come spend some money at the casinos and also as a sunny side up beach coastal resort town place.
it was a baking 30 degC on our first day there. although humidity was no where as bad as singapore. it was still hot. but with the sea breeze, everything was made slightly more enjoyable. although it was still undeniably baking hot.

the skies where cloudless and the blue-est of the blue. it was just like that for the whole 5 days we were there. and honestly, it was a little too hot to bare in the afternoons so me and ron opted to rot in the hotel instead. with everything on tv in french, the only two channels made for english viewing was sports and bbc.

the beach was pure gravel. not a single spec of sand. although i did try basking a bit of a tan there, i somehow ended up with not a single bikini tan line. only left with my gladiator sandals strap marks on my feet.
for the time that i lay there on our hotel borrowed mats. not only did i not get a tan, but in that same amount of time. ron got sun burnt. meaning that me and ron will never ever be able to be beach buddies. all i wanted was to sit there longer to make a nice clear tan line. but at the same time i was scared ron will be baked red. and he got a sunburn for 1.5 hours of sun.

i had to say that the promenade was a nice walk along the stretch of the bay. with every section of visible gravel breach. there was bound to be at least two or three topless women. although most of them are aunties with sagging boobs. but there were still good firm ones out there.

we walked along the coast from the beach to the port. and the waters were a nice clear blue. something that you will never really get to see in singapore EVER. but it seems to be shinning in the sunlight and making it crystal clear blue arching waters.

there was some old fort we were too lazy to climb, and at the other end of the cliff was this weird looking thing. as weird as it was just a single structure sticking out from the ground, it was actually nice on camera. but then again, since my lcd died from iceland, i cant really see what i was taking. but looking from the self shots i got, i really got to say i am really good at self shots. NZ trained me well

the houses on the coast was in nice contrasting shades of yellow, orange and red, green and blue. all match up in window panels and wall paint. and as mismatched as the colors could get. it dint look wrong in the sunlight. the houses has nice patios and really pretty shutters. if only singapore could look half like that.

we spent a few days walking in town. going shopping and look seeing. it was so hot me and ron were practically hiding in the shade of every building we can get. and it was so hot that we really spent most the day indoors. until it was cooler at night that we stoled out to enjoy the chill of the nightlife.

we chances upon this particular restaurant. it was 19 euros for a three course meal. and i can say that it is the best western food i have ever eaten in my life. it was so good we came back for a second dinner.
i dont know why it tasted so good. even the american couple thought it was good and well priced. there was even foir gras on my steak i ordered. i would love to hire the cook and make it cook for me everyday.

and to balance the scale of money spent. we only has baguette and ham from the supermarket for lunch and breakfast. baguette from the corner bakery was only 45 cents and it was fresh hot from the oven and crunchy to the bite. plus we got small packs of butter for spread. and occasionally buying a quiche.

nothing really much to say other than the fact that we spent 5 whole days doing absolutely nothing. lets just call it a vacation.
