So, my little man has slept well for 2 nights. Not perfect but better. 2 nights ago he slept until 4 and then was up at 6 and 8. Last night he woke up at 11 but Kevin got him to go back down in about 10 minutes and then he didn't wake up again until 5:30 and then slept until 8. Now watch, tonight he will be up a ton.
I am looking forward to going out to eat for my husband's birthday. Then we head down to camp next week and stay while Kevin is going to a conference. It will be nice to be there again. When we get home we jump right into vbs and then I have to get ready for mr. man's first b-day. We are doing a farm theme but i am going to try to keep it simple and natural. We'll have a picnic outside by our barn with red checked table cloths and mason jars for decorations. Kevin's mom is making the cake and I just finished the invites. So, it's coming together. The coolest part is that his party will be on Saturday night and then on Sunday morning we will have his baby dedication.
I am someone who has been molded and shaped through the many paths and places I have walked...I have seen little and much...I believe but struggle to have faith...I desire to know God but still at times run from him...I desire life but at times lack the bravery to chase after it...I am me but all that that entails is still a mystery.

Yummy Soap
Finally
I did not intend to take so long to blog but I have been suffering from some major mommy burnout. I have not had a full night's sleep in months and I never know if he is going to wake up once or twice a night. It's not him just being bad...he has literally been teething since Dec. On top of going non-stop for quite a few weeks, it finally hit. It was one of those call my mom and cry days. I still haven't gotten a lot of sleep but a good cry really helped.
On the positive, there has definitely been some little things to enjoy - Heidi's soap came. I was going to take a pic of how cute the packaging is but I need some new batteries. It is definitely yummy! We are also enjoying our garden. We've already enjoyed zucchini, baby spinach, raspberries, lettuce, beans, and even a few little potatoes. Nothing beats food from your own garden. I have been trying to put up small amounts as we pick them so we can enjoy them this winter.
I also had a new experience that was suprisingly enjoyable. A lot of our folks at church like southern gospel so we took a group to see Legacy 5 (a group that spun off of the cathedrals) at Word of Life (we live 15 min. from the WOL Inn). I wasn't too excited about going but knew Kevin didn't want to go by himself. I was also apprehensive about how Jack would do. Well, Jack liked it (except for the clapping - it was too loud for him) and suprisingly I did too! I'm not turning into a crazy fan of it...but they were really good! I just wished my dad could be there...he would love them!

Red Shoes
The Work of my Hands
Finds of the Day
Hit the garage saling circuit. Picked this up for $5.oo and a bag of kids stuff for another $5. Then hit the local library book sale and got some great deals as well. I was excited to find a basket at one of the sales that will be very helpful in gathering my flowers and herbs. I also found a Jack in the box...yeah, I know! But I had to pick it up

My Week
Where did it go? I am honestly not sure. It has been a blur of laundry, fighting weeds, cleaning, feeding, and changing jack, and tons of other odds and ends that turn my brain into mush.
However, I did manage a few things I am proud of. I now have 3 quarts of tart cherries (which i need to decide what i want to use them for) and 9 lbs. of blueberries, picked fresh and now frozen. I was able to visit the library and pick up some new books including Mistaken Identity which is sad but I am looking forward to how powerful it will be. I have also beat off the weeds from all 30 of the potato plants and my herbs. We are in the process of doing all the rest. I also combined my daily walk with my discipleship with a girl from our church and had a great talk and exercise at the same time.

I am also nursing some empty heartedness. My friend Sara left for Kansas...her husband is returning home from Iraq. I am so glad she finally gets to be with Adam but I definitely miss having her around. My other friend from across the street has had to move for a few weeks while construction is going on in her house. I haven't seen her or talked to her in weeks. Plus, coming back from camp and seeing a bunch of my friends and family makes me miss them more. I really feel lonely at times and I know it is just a season of change but it still is sad.
Jack is still waking up in the night and so my brain is getting more foggy. I need to get some sleep.

Stair Climbing Has Begun
Walk through the Woods
Anniversary Suprise
Mom and Dad had their 4oth Anniversary this last weekend and so I figured out a way to go and suprise them. I had drew talk them in to going to get ice cream and we were there to greet them. Then on Sunday we went out to eat and then hung out at camp. I spent a few more days at camp getting to catch up with everyone.

Grandma was very suprised

Jack loves his ice cream

Our friends Tiffany and Cadi (and little scotty inside mommy)

Mastering the walker
Camp's newest...an 8 way carpet ball. It still needs the carpeting but it will definitely be cool.
