Being where God wants you

I was in Cameron Highlands last week speaking at a Girls Brigade Camp. About 58 attended the Camp and i was the only guy! It was amazing experience. Wait....before you jump into conclusions let me explain what i mean. I discovered that when it comes to 'all girls' camp, they are no different then boys. Oh with one minor distinction: they screem alot....and 'high' pitch too. It was so painful to my ears that i had to close it.

To me the incredible thing about the Camp was to realise that there is a core group within the camp that is committed at reaching to their non-Christian friends. In the morning prayer meeting, which was attended by a handful of them i saw their love for Christ put into action in prayer. At that particular moment, i also realised that God has anointed our youths to be involved in ministry. There was this girl, who when she began to pray i felt the Presence of the Holy Spirit moving in my heart. Wow...that was an incredible experience!
One of the things i did (as i usually do in Cameron Highlands) is to go for a walk alone. I really treasure this experience as i found God to be quietly present with me. One of the things that came to my mind at this time were some thoughts on Youth Ministry.

I really want to thank God for the opportunity and privilege that He has given me (and Rhema) to be involved in this ministry. I felt that it is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people. Many times, i am feeling like a 'father' to them. Strangely, this has gone beyond a 'work'. It has become a passion and 'life.'

I must also quickly add that at the end nothing is more permanent in life then the Presence of God. In a way, more then ministry we need to continually seek Him and walk in His Presence. But what is fulfilling is to see God in the things that you love to do. When that happens, i think it would be most fullfiling.

On the last session that i spoke at this Camp, i saw the Presence of God standing before the girls! As they were worship God, i could see God watching over them. I also want to thank God for Rhema. I know that we are in this Ministry together. And without her 'my' ministry will not be complete. Indeed, she is the best person for me and i believe God has put us together. Many times, she is one of reason why i can serve God freely. My wife is a woman who loves God and who is deep into prayer. (she doesn't know that i am blogging about this)

Dear friends, please do seek God's Will and Call in your life. Nothing in life can come anywhere near this. The path way may not be so obvious and sometimes it might even be difficult. But God certainly has His very best for you. Praise be the name of the Lord!

Amazing 10 Days

"I'm back!" It has been a wonderful ten days..one that certainly have made a lasting impact in my life. A few days ago i had this thought in my mind: 'Its great to be at the center of God's Will'.

It was liberating to know that every step that you take is within the Will of God and to discover that His Will and purpose for you is 'simply the best'. When you are in the center of His Will you are at the most secured place.

My heart really broke when i saw the many needs in this country that i visited. I met this boy at the market. There was simply no smile on his face. Life was difficult and he had to sell his teacher's paintings to make a living. My heart really went out for him. All i could do is to utter a prayer in my heart and put my arms around him and give him some money to buy something for himself.

One of my joys is to see our young people taking an active part in loving and reaching out to the people around them. It is simply amazing. When i saw them in action i saw the love of Jesus shining through them. They did well!

I also believe that God has fulfilled one of the 'Word' that He has given me ten years ago. At that time i was a Youth Worker in Ipoh Wesley. As i prayed for the youths God spoke to me through Isaiah 44: 1 - 5. Verse five came as a fulfilment of prophecy when i saw our young people in action. "One will say 'I belong to the Lord'; another will call himself by the name of Jacob; still another will write on his hand 'The Lord's' and will take the name Israel."

I think what was significant in this trip was challenging friends there to give themselves to the task of prayer and intercession. I think as we give ourselves seriously to the task of prayer and intercession we would be able to see things from God's point of view. Prayer is more than bring our prayer list to God; in prayer we discover what is really in heart of God concerning ourselves and the world that we live in.

We also experienced God's presence throughout the trip. In everything we did we prayed. We saw the hands of God at work in the things we did and realised that without prayer nothing happens!

It was really sad to leave our friends after those ten days. There was alot of tears and hugs in the airport. We left with a heavy heart. We felt as if apart of us is now back there. Yesterday our teams spent most time talking about our friends back there.
